I don't know what had come over me. All I know was I had this urge to just get out of that classroom. I didn't know where my legs were taking me but I went with it.
I ended up in the girls bathroom. I was in the handicap stall with my back against the wall. I slid down to the ground so I was hugging my legs. My bag was thrown next to me.
I had tears rushing down my face. That means I have to redo my makeup. Isn't that just peachy?
When I had finally calmed down, I got off the floor. Walking over to the mirror over the sink, I saw that my makeup had lasted. That's a relief, I didn't feel like redoing all that work to cover my bruises. I heard the door to the bathroom open.
"Brooks?" Lauryn's voice called out
Instead of responding I made my over to the stall door and opened it. When Lauryn saw it was me she rushed over. Taking precaution before going in for a hug.
"Shhh. It'll be okay Brooks." She said soothingly.
I hung onto my friend until I finally felt better. Pulling away she gave me a weak smile. I smiled back and walked over to the mirror. My makeup was still okay.
"What happened?" She asked
"Luke happened. He was so cold and... And heartless." I said.
"That jerk! What did he say?"
"He basically called me a bitch and little miss perfect. When in actuality he doesn't know half the crap I've been through Lauryn. I even cussed for the first time in forever because he pissed me off so badly."
"Wait... He got you to cuss. Shit he did! You just cussed and I didn't realize it!"
"Yeah and I just... I'm just so fed up with everything Lauryn!"
"Hey don't go back down that road okay? It's not worth it."
"It's hard not too. It's so inviting and it seems so much better."
"It might seem that way but it's not okay? You promised me.
"Fine I won't. Well how did you get out of class?" I asked.
"Mr. Mason knows that we're close so he sent me even though Luke tried to go after you."
"What?"
"Yeah Luke tried to run after you but Mr. Mason stopped him."
"I'm glad he did." I said looking down.
"Come on let's go back to class." She said and I nodded while following her out of the bathroom.
We walked back to the classroom in complete silence. When we reached the door, I came to a stop. Lauryn was about to open it when she saw I stopped.
"Brooks you coming?" She asked worriedly.
"Y-y," I stuttered then cleared my throat, "Yes."
She nodded and opened the door. Walking in behind her everyone had there eyes on me. I was trying to ignore looking in Luke's direction but it was like a magnet was attracting my gaze that way.
I ever so slightly looked in that direction but was saddened. Luke had a look of cold evil heartedness in his eyes. I looked away immediately from his glare and walked over to Mr. Mason.
Lauryn had taken her seat and was watching Mr. Mason and I. I looked up from the ground to Mr. Mason. He was pointing to his door. I took that as a sign he wanted to talk. We walked our of the class and I turned to face him.
"Now would you care to explain what happened?" He asked getting right to the point.
"No." I said quickly.
