Chapter Thirteen

LUCI'S POV

I woke up to a knock on my door. Mum walked in and turned on my light. "Luci, it's almost mid day, come on get up!" She said pulling my duvet off me. I got out of bed and got changed. "Oh and I'm out tonight so you will have to make yourself something to eat." She said bluntly. She left my room and I went out to my balcony.

"Luci!" I heard someone shout. I looked down and saw Cam. "Hey Cam! Wait one second," I shouted and ran downstairs. I opened the door and let Cam in. We went upstairs and sat in my room. "What are we all doing today?" Cam asked. "I don't know, beach like normal I guess," I replied standing up and going over to Cody's balcony. I knocked on his doors and he quickly opened them. "Hey, what's up?" He said. "Let's go to the beach," I said cheerfully. "Yeah sure, I'll be at yours in a minute," he said. I nodded and went back to my room. "Cody will be here in a minute," I said to Cam.

Cody came and the three of us headed to the beach. When we got there we saw Jake and Josh surfing. We sat on the sand and made a sand castle. It was great. It was really big and Cam and Cody carved little windows in it. We found a straw and I had a chewing gum wrapper so we made a little flag to put on top.

Cam went off to the sea with Josh and Jake so me and Cody sat together talking and listening to music. We sat for hours alone. I heard someone cough behind us. "Hey Cody, miss me?" They said. We both turned round and the girl sat next to Cody. "Hi, I'm Kylie, but I bet you knew that," she said. "I'm Luci, and no actually I didn't know that," I said. Cody tried not to laugh. "What are you doing here?" Cody asked her. "I missed you baby," she said kissing him passionately. Cody pushed her off and stood up. "What are you doing?" He asked her. "Cody, I'm your girlfriend," she said sharply. "What? No, we broke up," he replied. Well this is awkward. "I'm going to go surf," I said picking up my board and heading towards the sea where the boys were.

I looked over to Cody and Kylie from my board. I didn't actually surf in the end. I just sat on my board and let myself float. "Luci, are you okay?" Josh asked. I looked down and from the corner of my eye I saw Josh sit next to me on his board. "Yeah, I'm fine, do you know Kylie? She says she is Cody's girlfriend," I said looking up at Josh. "Yeah, Cody doesn't have a girlfriend," Josh said. "That's what he said, she kissed him though, she obviously thinks they are together," I said.

Me and Josh sat on our boards in the sea and Jake and Cam joined us. Cody was still arguing wit Kylie. Eventually, I saw her walk off and Cody headed towards us.

CODY'S POV

What the hell is Kylie doing here? Me and her stood arguing about us being a couple. She insisted we were a couple still but we aren't. "I have to go meet a friend, see you later," she said walking off. I hope I don't see her later.

I went into the sea to everyone else. "So, what's up with you and Kylie?" Jake asked. "Absolutely nothing. She thinks we are still a couple but we aren't." I said. "So are we surfing then or what?" I said and we all got up and went to surf. It wasn't great today for surfing but I needed something to take my mind off Kylie.

We surfed for a few hours and then headed back to the beach. I love these times with the boys and Luci. They make me forget what it's like back in LA. Constantly working. I never get a break from it. I love what I do and I love my fans but sometimes I just need to be me and get time to relax. Being back in Australia gives me that time.

The boys started to head home and eventually it was just me and Luci. I saw her phone vibrate and Luke's name pop up on the screen.

LUCI'S POV

I picked up my phone and read the message from Luke. It said: 'I'm so sorry about the way I acted. Give me another chance and I promise it will never happen again. I miss you.' I ignored it and put my phone back down. "Shall we go home?" Cody asked. "Yeah," I replied standing up and offering him my hand to help him up. He smiled and took it. I pulled him up and we stood so close to each other that I could feel his breath. I could smell that sea smell coming from him. He was still holding my hand but I liked it. "Cody!" We heard someone call. He let go of my hand and took a step away from me before turning to look and see who it was. "There you are, come on mum made dinner," Alli said walking closer to us. He smiled at me and bent down to pick up his stuff. I did the same and then the three of us walked home.

I was tired and my bag was getting heavy so I was walking faster than normal. "Slow down!" Cody called. "Sorry I really need to get home to put down my bag." I said slowing to their pace. "Let me," Cody said taking my bag from my and putting it over his shoulder. "Thanks," I said smiling at him. Gradually, our houses came into view and I took my bag back and said goodbye to Cody and Alli. Cody's hand brushed mine and I felt him slip a piece of paper into my hand. I guess he had it with him all day.

I went into my house and once again mum was out. She was always out on dates or working late. I miss her being around all the time like she used to be. I made myself some soup and headed up to my room. I turned on my tv and ate my soup. I unfolded the paper Cody had given me and read it. 'Meet me on my balcony normal time' is all it said. Normal time means I have another hour which is enough to shower and change my clothes.

I went out to my balcony and Cody was already out there. On my balcony. "What time do you call this?" He asked pulling me into a tight hug. "Sorry, I was hungry," I confessed. Me and Cody sat on my balcony. We were sat together without talking but I liked it. I heard Cody humming. I laughed to myself. "What?" Cody asked. "Just you, humming to yourself," I said grinning at him. "Sorry I have the tune to a song I'm working on stuck in my head," he said looking down at his hands. "Sing it?" I asked. "It's not ready," he said playing with the ring on his finger. "What's it called?" I asked him. "Awake All Night," he said.

We fell back into silence. I laid down looking up at the sky. Cody laid next to me. I felt his hand beside mine. He fingers were touching mine and I felt him slowly intertwine his fingers with mine. I smiled at him and he smiled back. I moved to lean on him. He wrapped his arms round me and I put my head on his chest.
