Chapter Twenty-Six

JOSH'S POV

Finally we arrived. I was hoping Luci would enjoy this trip that was planned by me. We all climbed out of the car and I quickly covered Luci's eyes with my hands so she couldn't see. Me and the boys guided her to the entrance. I uncovered her eyes and she stopped straight away. Luci was speechless. Her mouth hung open it shock. "Oh. My. God. Who planned this?" She said excitedly. "Josh, done this one," Cam said hitting my shoulder.

LUCI'S POV

Paintball. Something I have always said to Josh I wanted to do. I could hardly contain my excitement. "Thank you so much!" I screamed throwing my arms around him in happiness.

JOSH'S POV

I hugged Luci back and held her tight. Recently I was starting to feel different about Luci. I always thought of her as more of a sister to me but recently it's different. Whenever we hug I get that warm feeling inside. Like it's just right to have her near me all the time. I quickly snapped from my thoughts when I felt Luci pull away from me.

I smiled down at her and we went to the front desk to get our kit we needed. We had to put on stuff to protect our chests and we got our paintball guns. We would be playing solo so we were all against each other. "Right then troops, welcome to HQ, to shoot simply pull the trigger. You can start shooting 1 minute after you get out there. There will be a gun shot so you know you can start shooting. You have 30 minutes. Never take your eye off the enemy. Finally, Good luck." The man said in an army voice before setting us off into the woodland behind. We all ran in opposite directions.

LUCI'S POV

This was war. Suddenly, there was a loud gun shot signalling we could start shooting. I frantically stuck behind my log watching as in the distance I could see Jake shooting what looked like Cam. I aimed and shot straight to Jake. I saw it hit him and saw him jump. I laughed and ducked behind my log as he turned round. "Good shot," Josh said making me jump. I laughed and he ducked beside me. "Let's be a team?" Josh offered. "Team," I agreed. I stood and took another shot at Jake. This time it missed.

The game continued with me and Josh working as a team. At the end of it there was another gun shot to tell us it was over. We all went back into the room we came out of earlier to hear who had won. Jake won and I was second followed by Josh then Cam.

"Let's go change and then go for a pizza," Jake suggested. Debbie had waited for us so she could take us back home. I sat in the front with Debbie on the way home. "Thank you for today guys, it was amazing," I said tweeting a picture of the four of us after paint balling. We were all covered in paint but it might be my favourite photo of the four of us. I put 'Well done @jakethrupp the king of paintball!' As the caption. All the boys retweeted it.

We got home and I ran to mine to change. "Luci! Packing!" Mum shouted. "Going out for pizza!" I shouted back. Mum didn't bother arguing because she knew I would pack eventually. I don't want to go. I ran upstairs to change. I chose a pail pink skater dress just above the knee, I matched it with a light brown scarf with a light, sleeveless denim jacket and finally I chose some beige pumps. I curled the ends of my hair and put half up. "Luci! Josh is here!" Steve shouted. "Send him up!" I shouted back. Not long after I shouted Josh came through the door.

He wore his casual navy blue polo shirt and casual shorts. "You look great," Josh said pulling me into a tight hug. I hugged him back and breathed in his cent. He smelt so good. "Josh," I said leaning back and looking into his eyes. "What's up?" He asked. "I don't want to leave," I replied. "I don't want you to leave," he said moving my hair behind my ear. I smiled up at him. Our eyes locked together. His head started to move towards mine. I could feel his warm breath on my cheek. Our lips got closer until his were almost touching mine. Do I do this? Josh?

Just as our lips were about to meet there was a knock at my door. Josh jumped away from me and Steve came into my room. "Did you guys want a lift to get your pizza?" Steve offered. "Well Jake and Cam are coming as well," I said. "That's okay I'll take you all, but can we leave soon? Packing still needs to be done." He replied. "Okay, thank you so much," I said hugging Steve. Recently Steve and I had been closer than ever. He had become like my Dad and I really appreciated it.

"Ready to go?" I said to Josh. He smiled and nodded. We walked downstairs and went to get Jake and Cam. We got to Jake's for him to say he couldn't go. We went to get Cam and he accepted the invitation but he had to be back early so me and Josh were going to stay out.

CODY'S POV

I still can't stop thinking about Luci. Jake told me she was moving back to England. I haven't spoken to her since we broke up. She had called me when she was back to Australia.

*1 month ago*

"Luci!? Why aren't you here? You can't just leave! We are all so worried about you!" I shouted. "We need to break up. I can't forgive you." She said sounding emotionless. "Luci, please don't do this, we can work this out, please," I begged. "No Cody, it's done, we're done," she said before hanging up the phone.

*Present day*

I was planning on going back to Australia before Luci leaves. I need her back. I tried phoning her multiple times but she never answered my calls. She was still in regular contact with Alli and every time I ask about Luci, Alli knows everything. She had told me about the boys planning a special week for Luci's last week. I liked how Alli still talked to her. It made me feel like I was still talking to her.

Kylie had been over a few times but I never once spoke to her. I hated her. I couldn't help but blame her for what happened to Luci and I, but deep down I knew it was my fault as well. I should have said no. I should have stopped it. It just all seemed exciting when Kylie was kissing me. It never once felt like when Luci kissed me. With Luci it was fireworks. With Kylie it was worry. Worry we would be caught.

LUCI'S POV

Me, Josh and Cam all walked into the little Italian place for pizza. It was one of my favourite restaurants and they served the best pizzas. We all sat down and ordered 3 pizzas. I sat next to Josh with Cam opposite me.

A whole passed and we had all finished eating. Cam and Josh payed but they refused to let me pay for my meal. So stubborn. Cam left leaving me and Josh together. We decided to head to the beach for an evening walk.

We reached the beach after quite a long walk. I pulled off my shoes feeling the soft sand between my toes. Josh done the same and we walked side by side down the beach. We were walking close together and I could feel Josh's hand brush mine as he swung his arms. I laughed to myself but he noticed. "What?" Josh said with his cheeky smile. "You, swinging your arms," I laughed. Josh stopped swinging his arms letting his hand rest beside mine.

JOSH'S POV

I moved my hand towards Luci's and intertwined our fingers. She smiled at me and we continued walking down the beach. I started swinging our arms and Luci laughed and hugged my arm. We walked like that for a while. Maybe it's now my chance to get the girl for a change. I have always liked Luci but she was always Cody's. I told Cody before he asked Luci to be his girlfriend that I liked her. Now it's my turn.

LUCI'S POV

There was something about being with Josh that made me feel warm and safe. Maybe not the same way Cody did but I liked it. Josh knew me. He was my best friend in the world and I could walk around holding his hand and not have to worry about it being awkward at all.

Josh and I found a little spot on the beach and watched the sun set. It was beautiful and being with someone as great as Josh made it better. I sat wrapped up in his arms. I looked up and smiled at him. He smiled back and just like atelier he moved his head closer to mine I didn't move away. I moved to meet him.

Our lips met and fireworks exploded. It was right. Maybe Josh would be the one to mend my broken heart.

Sorry it has been a while since the last update! Been so busy with school work so might take me a while updating but I'll try do at least a chapter each week!
