Chapter Eight

LUCI'S POV

It was so good for all of us to be back together again. "Let's go surf," Cody said to me. I smiled and stood up. Cody followed and together we went towards the sea. "Come on then, show me you've been practicing," Cody joked. "Next wave," I said getting ready. As the wave got closer me and Cody both started surfing at the same time. Cody gently nudged my arm causing me to fall. I grabbed his arm and took him down with me. We grabbed our boards and sat on them in the middle of the sea. "I want to meet Luke," Cody said randomly. "I would love for you to meet him, I think he said he was coming to the beach today," I said scanning the beach with my eyes to see if I could see him. "The boys don't like him do they," Cody said looking into my eyes. "No, but I don't know why," I said looking away from him. That's when I saw Luke. Walking to his normal place where all his friends already were. Cody followed my gaze and smiled. "Is that him?" He said. "Yeah," I said grinning. "Come on then, lets get the boys and you can introduce me?" Cody said swimming back to the sand. I laughed and followed him.

"Boys are you coming? I want to meet Luke," Cody asked them. "Sure," Cam said. The five of us walked over to where I normally meet Luke. He was standing there with Ben. Luke looked at me and smiled. "Hey gorgeous," Luke said. I giggled and hugged him. "Luke this is Cody, Cody this is Luke," I said introducing them. "Don't forget Ben!" Ben said winking at me. "And obviously there is Ben," I said. "Nice to meet you," Cody said. "Yeah you too," Luke replied. "Again, don't forget Ben." Ben said laughing to himself. "Are you guys coming?" Luke said grabbing my hand and pulling me round to his friends. I turned and gave the boys a look that told them to come as well. I can't be with Luke's friend's alone.

As soon as we got to his friends some girl starting flirting with Luke. He was flirting back but he never once let go of my hand.

CODY'S POV

Why was he flirting with some girl in front of his girlfriend? I agree with the boys, Luke seems like he doesn't really care about Luci. I don't want her to get hurt.

Luci looked so bored standing with Luke. I called her over and she thanked me when she got back to us. "So do you like him?" Luci asked. "I can't tell, I haven't properly spoken to him," I said. She nodded and lent on my shoulder. Luke looked over and smiled at her. He walked over and took both of he hands and wrapped them with his. "Come for a walk with me?" He asked her. Luci smiled and jumped off the rock.

I watched them stroll along the beach hand in hand laughing at each other. "Dude, stop staring," Jake said pushing my arm. "Sorry," I said. "Well come on then do you like him?" Josh asked. "No, he just seems wrong. Like he is making too much of an effort because he is hiding something," I said. "That's what we all think, but we didn't want to tell Luci," Cam said. "I need to be getting home," Jake said. "Me too," I said. "I'm just going to say good bye to Luci," I said walking towards Luci and Luke.

"Luci, we are all heading home," I said to her. "Okay well I better come too, I believe you and your family are round for dinner," Luci said smiling. "I believe we are," I replied. She said goodbye to Luke and arranged for them to see each other again tomorrow.

LUCI'S POV

Me and Cody walked home and parted when we got to our houses. I walked into the house to see Brad and Angie sitting with mum. I headed upstairs and saw a figure on my balcony. I went out and saw Cody smiling at me. "What are you doing?" I asked. "I wanted to just talk to you like we used to. Remember our history project? We got best in our class." Cody said sounding proud. "I loved that project!" I said grinning.

Me and Cody sat talking for ages. I looked over to his balcony to see a rope ladder hanging down. "Why is there a ladder?" I asked him confused. "Late night beach sessions. I love to just sit on the beach by myself and play my guitar and think," he said blushing. "That is so sweet Cody," "So, how is school?" Cody asked. "Boring without you," I admitted. He smiled and moved to sit next to me. I lent my head on his shoulder again and we sat talking for what seemed like ages.

It soon got to dinner time and Cody followed me downstairs. We sat next to each other like old times. Alli was on the other side of me and next to her was Tom. Mum, Brad and Angie sat opposite us. Tom jumped off his seat and ran to me. He gave me a massive hug and told me he missed me. "I missed you too little man," I said. He smiled and went back to his seat. I wish I had a younger brother or sister.

Just after dinner me, Cody, Alli and Tom went up to my room. Just as we got upstairs the doorbell rung. "Luci! Luke is at the door!" Mum called. I ran downstairs and went to the door. "Hey come in," I said. He kissed my cheek and smiled at me. "Are you coming up?" I asked. "Sure but I can't stay long, I told mum I wouldn't be long," I grabbed his hand and led him up to my room where Cody, Alli and Tom were.

I felt Luke tense up slightly when he noticed there was the others in my room. "Alli and Tom this is Luke," I said introducing them. "Hey," Luke said squeezing my hand. I followed his gaze and noticed he was looking directly at Cody. I smiled at Luke and we sat on my bed. We weren't there for very long until Luke had to go. I walked him out and went outside with him. "See you tomorrow baby," Luke said pulling me into him. "See you tomorrow," I said hugging him. He tilted my chin up towards him and kissed me passionately. I smiled and pulled away. I watched him walk down the road before heading back inside.

CODY'S POV

While Luci was walking Luke out I went out to her balcony and saw them kissing. Looking at him kiss her made me realise that he is definitely hiding something. I was going to find out what he was hiding. As soon as they parted he was on his phone and walking away. He looked back at Luci and then put his phone to his ear. "I'm on my way," I heard him say. He was smiling and heading to the beach.

I went back inside just before Luci got back to her room. "We should all go," I said as Luci walked in. "Yeah, we probably should." Alli said standing up. I picked up Tom who was sound asleep and carried him out. "See you tomorrow," I said to Luci. She smiled and we all left.
