Chapter Eighteen

CODY'S POV

Alli sat in front of me glaring at me like I had killed someone. "Alli, look I'm really sorry about the way I acted. I was horrible and wish I could take back what I said. The truth is Als I'm glad you and jake are together. I think you two are meant to be together. I'm so sorry," I said seeing tears form in her eyes. "I'm sorry too, I should have asked you first, are we both forgiven?" She said forcing through a smile. "Both forgiven," I said pulling her into a tight hug. I heard her laugh. "What?" I asked her. "Look at us, brother and sister fighting and then having to go through this to be okay again." She said. I laughed realising how stupid this situation was.

"Let's go out for breakfast," Alli suggested. "Our favourite café?" I suggested offering her my arm to hold. "Our favourite café," she agreed.

We got to the café and saw Cam and Luci talking away with their surf boards next to them. I smiled at Luci and she waved us over. "Sit with us," She said patting the seat next to her with her hand. Me and Alli sat with them and ordered our food.

"Did you go for a morning surf?" Alli asked Cam and Luci. "Yeah, morning waves are always the best," Cam replied. "Agreed," Luci said cheerfully.

I was sat next to Luci and I felt her hand intertwine with mine under the table. I smiled and saw her smile as well. Her smile was so perfect.

We all ate together, talking and laughing. It was perfect. We still had to tell Alli though. Me and Luci couldn't keep us a secret forever.

LUCI'S POV

I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I had a text from mum.

From: Mum

Get home now? Big news!! Love you sweet heart! Xxxxx

I sighed and put my phone away. "Guys I have to go, see you later," I said sliding out from my seat and grabbing my surf board.

I walked home and left my board leaning against our house. I went inside to see mum and her boyfriend. Mum and Steve had been together two years now. They met as soon as we moved to Australia and has been friends for a year before they finally got together. Steve was like a dad to me. He was so lovely and he would do anything for mum and I.

"Sit down sweetie," mum said happily. "What's with all the 'sweetie' and 'sweet heart'?" I asked confused. I took a seat with them and Steve held mum's hand. "Luci, Steve is moving in," mum said excitedly. "Guys that's amazing!" I said jumping up and giving them both a hug. "Slow down kiddo," Steve joked. He always called me that. He refused to call me anything else but kiddo. I quite liked it though. It made us feel like a family. "We have something else," Mum said looking to Steve. I sat down again and smiled at them. "We're getting married!" Mum squealed in excited. I once again jumped up and hugged them both. At long last I will finally have a proper family.

I went up to my room and text Cody.

To: Cody

Come over? Xxxxxx

He replied quickly.

From: Cody

On my way Angel xxxxxx

I smiled and put my phone down. I laid on my bed thinking over the events that unfolded earlier. Steve moving in. Mum and Steve getting married. It was right.

There was a knock on my door and Steve walked in. I smiled at him. "Hey kiddo," he said giving me a cup of my favourite milkshake. "Thanks," I said taking it happily and drinking through the straw. Steve laughed. "So what's happening with you?" He asked. "What do you mean?" I replied. "Me and your mum want to know about you and Cody." He said smiling at me. "Okay, he is my boyfriend but we haven't told anyone yet, including Alli. I'm scared about telling her after the way Cody reacted about Alli and Jake." He shot me a huge grin and hugged me tightly. "Kiddo! That's great news! Don't worry about Alli, I'm sure she'll be happy for you," Steve said letting me go and heading for the door. "Oh, by the way, my family are coming over tomorrow for a meal, invite Cody if you want," he said walking out.

Just a Steve left Cody knocked on my balcony door. "You know you could just use the front door like a normal person," I said hugging him. "Yeah but let's face it, we're not exactly normal," Cody replied wrapping his arms round me. I laughed and we sat on my bed.

"So what's up?" Cody asked pecking me on the cheek. "Well, Steve is moving in, and mum and Steve are getting married!" I squealed in excitement. "That's great," Cody said cheerfully. There was a knock on my door and mum came in. "Luci, I heard you talking to someone, who are you," she said before noticing Cody. "oh hi Cody, how did you get in here?" She asked confused. "Balcony," Cody and I said at the same time. Mum laughed and sat with us. "I just wanted to say that I'm really happy for you two, I'm so happy that awful Luke boy is gone!" Mum said trying not to laugh. "Thanks mum," I said. She got up and quickly left my room.

"And Mum and Steve invited you to a family dinner tomorrow. All Steve's family is coming, I have never met them before and I would love you to be there," I said. "I would love to," Cody replied kissing me passionately. He pulled away and took my hands in his. "We need to tell Alli," he said looking down. "I was thinking the same," I replied tilting his head up and smiling at him. He smiled back and once again gave me a gentle and perfect kiss. "Now?" He asked. "Now," I agreed.

We stepped out onto my balcony and jumped over to his. We went through his room and headed to Alli's room. Cody took a deep breath and knocked on Alli's door. "Come in," she called. Cody looked to me and pushed the door open. "Hey," Alli said smiling. To my surprise Jake was also with her. "Hey guys," I said cheerfully. Having Jake here as well made it slightly easier.

We sat with them before Cody started to talk. "Guys we all need to talk," he started. "You know I'm happy for you two right?" He said. "Right....." Alli replied. "Well we were wondering if you would be happy for us as well," Cody said. "Cody what are you trying to say?" Alli asked confused. Great, I knew Alli wouldn't understand Cody's way of explaining. "What Cody is trying to say is Cody and I are a couple now, but we were worried about telling you because we didn't want you to be annoyed or angry with us," I said. Cody shot me an apologetic look and grabbed my hand. "Guys, you shouldn't be worried about telling me, I'm glad you're finally together!" Alli said laughing. I felt Cody relax next to me and I smiled at him. "Thanks Als," Cody said hugging her. "Sorry guys I can't stay my mum doesn't know I'm not in my room," I laughed. I stood up and let myself out.

I climbed back to my room and Cody followed. "Let's go see your mum and Steve," Cody said grabbing my hand and dragging me downstairs. Cody had always got on well with mum and Steve. I loved how well they got on. It made it that much better that we were together. "Hey kiddo, hey Cody," Steve said. We sat with them and started talking about the wedding.

"Cody are you coming for dinner tomorrow?" Mum asked. "If you would like me to," Cody said. "Of course we do sweetheart," mum replied smiling. "Just dress smart, my parents are, well, they like to think they are posh, so they don't like it when people just wear jeans and a t-shirt," Steve said. "You'll have to help me pick something," Cody said. "Luci you need something nice to wear as well," mum said. "I have nothing to wear," I said as it hit me that actually I never dress up. "Well, here, my treat, go and find yourself something nice to wear for tomorrow," Steve said handing me some money. "Thank you so much!" I said hugging him and grabbing Cody's hand. "Come on, you can help me," I said pulling Cody up and heading to the door.

We got to my favourite dress store and went in. Cody helped me choose four dresses which I loved. I tried on each one and asked Cody which one to get but he just said he liked them all. He is no help.

I had on a dark blue strapless dress that had pink flowers on. I asked the shop assistant and we finally agreed on the one I had on. "Luci, now will you help me?" Cody asked me. "Just like you helped me?" I said sarcastically."Exactly," he replied not seeming to understand my sarcasm. I laughed and nodded. We walked around hundreds of shops until Cody finally made up his mind on what to wear. We took our bags and headed home.

When we got back to mine we went up to my room and sat on my bed. "Why don't you come to mine for dinner tonight? I'm sure mum and dad would love to see you," Cody said. Since they had been in Australia I had only seen Brad and Angie once but that was for a very short amount of time. "If it's okay with them, then I would love to," I said beaming at the thought of see them properly. Cody phoned his mum and asked if it was okay and she told him it was. I can't wait.
