Chapter Ten

LUCI'S POV

Being alone with Luke made me realise that actually I do really like him. I don't know if I love him but I'm not sure I would be able to break up with him. He is so sweet when we are alone.

As we were walking down the beach I saw the boys sitting and talking. I waved and saw Cam wave back. Jake and Josh just smiled. Cody looked at me with a look that told me he needed to talk to me. That I shouldn't be here. He was almost begging me to leave with his eyes. Luke pulled me along and I followed him willingly. I couldn't help but look at Cody as I walked away. He looked at me as well and we didn't break eye contact till Luke stopped walking and kissed me. I smiled at him and we kept walking.

The look Cody gave me never left my mind. I kept seeing it in my head. What was he trying to tell me?

After staying at the beach for a few hours with Luke and his friends me and Alli decided to go to the boys. "Well I quite liked him," Alli said as we walked away. "Liked who?" I asked. "Luke, his friend Ben was creepy! How could you leave me with him?" Alli said in disgust. "Sorry Alli, and I don't think I can break up with Luke." I said. "But what about the other person you like?" She said as the boys came into view. "I'll talk to you about it later," I said. She nodded and we sat with the boys.

We stayed there until the sun started to set. Alli walked home with Jake and Cam and Josh walked together as well leaving me and Cody. "We should go," Cody said. "Yeah, mum will be worrying," I said standing up and holding my hand out to help Cody up. He took it and I pulled him to his feet. We walked back and as I reached my door Cody stopped me. "Meet me on your balcony at 9." Cody said. I nodded and went inside.

I had dinner with mum and went upstairs. When 9 o'clock came I went out to my balcony and waited for Cody."Hey," Cody said jumping over to my balcony. I had to admit Cody had something about him. Just his hair and his eyes and I mean that body. What was I saying? I have Luke. But a girl can dream right? "Hey," I replied laying down and looking up at the stars. Cody laid next to me.

Cody told me a story about the stars. We were pointing at different stars and saying different stories. "See that star right there? Well I always think it is the prettiest star out here but it is never as pretty as your eyes," Cody said looking into my eyes. I blushed and smiled. We moved closer to each other and he moved his head towards mine. Our lips almost met when I stopped him. "Cody, I can't cheat on Luke,"

CODY'S POV

"But he cheated on you," I blurted. Why did I just say that? I just couldn't help it. It just came out. I couldn't stop it. "What!?" Luci shouted moving away from me and jumping up. "Sorry I didn't mean to tell you like that," I said grabbing her hand. She pulled it away and opened her balcony door. "Luci listen. I saw him today and yesterday with a different girl each time," "Cody why are you lying to me? I know you don't like him and everything but seriously Cody this is low." "Luci! Wait!" I said grabbing her arm. "Let me go Cody." She said pulling her arm away and going into her room.

I sat outside Luci's door and tried to get her out. "Luci, please just listen to me." I said. I must of fallen asleep on Luci's balcony. I woke up and I was wrapped up in some blankets and there was a note by my head. The note said: 'I may be mad at you but I don't want you to be cold. P.S don't talk to me.'

I knocked on her balcony door but there was no answer. I folded up the blankets and went back to my room.

LUCI'S POV

I didn't want to talk to Cody again. I needed to talk to Luke. I arranged to meet him away from his friends. He will be at my house in a few minutes. I didn't bother making myself look great.

Luke came and we went up to my room. "Why did you say you needed to talk?" Luke asked. "I was told something last night and I need to know if it is true." I said. "Okay, what is it?" "Well, Cody told me that he caught you with two different girls. Luke, have you been cheating on me?" I asked as tears started to fill my eyes. "Of course I haven't. I would never do that to you," Luke said taking my hands in his. "I knew you wouldn't," I said hugging him. "I think Cody is just jealous of us, I know he doesn't like me, maybe he is just trying to split us up," Luke said. I nodded and cuddled him some more.

We sat talking for ages before Luke stood up and went towards my door. "I need to go but I will come and see you later," Luke said. "Okay," I said smiling to him as he went out. I went out to my balcony and picked up the blankets Cody had folded. I noticed Alli sitting on Cody's balcony. I waved to her and she came over. "What happened with you and Cody?" She asked. I explained to her the whole story and she just nodded along. "I can't believe that! That's awful! I don't understand though, why won't you talk to Cody?" Alli asked confused. "Because I think he is lying about it." "Okay, right, I know my own brother Luci, he would never lie like that," Alli said.

CODY'S POV

There was a knock at my door so I ran downstairs and opened the door. Luke was standing there looking angry. "We need to talk." He said shoving past me and coming into my house. "Meet me on the beach in ten minutes." He said leaving. I was going to go. This boy needs sorting out. I phoned Jake and he said he would come with me.

We walked to the beach and saw Luke and Ben. "Well, well, well. Look who showed up." Luke said. "Look, Luke, I just want to know why I am here." I said. "You're here because I know about what you told Luci. She told me everything and I got you here to make sure it doesn't happen again. The thing is Cody, I will do this the nice way. You better not ever talk to Luci again or I will hurt you." Luke said walking towards me and getting in my face. "You can't tell me who I can and can't talk to. Luci is one of my best friends and I will talk to whoever I want to talk to." I said. "Well then Cody looks like we have an issue. Ben you know what to do." Luke said as Ben grabbed my arms. Jake tried to get him off but he was strong. I felt a foot go flying into my back. I fell to the ground and felt another kick go into my side. Then another, then another. I dragged myself up from the ground and swung for Luke. I hit his face and his nose started to bleed. "That's it." Luke said swinging his fist to my face. It hit me. Hard. I fell to the ground again and heard Luke laugh. "Pathetic." Luke said. "Come on Ben, I think our work here is done." Luke said walking away.

Jake ran to me and helped me up. We quickly walked home to go and get cleaned up. I had blood all over my face and I could feel some bruises forming where Luke had kicked me. We got home and Alli ran to us. "What the hell happened?" She said taking my arm and leading me to the kitchen. "Luke." Jake said. "Luke did this to you?" Alli asked surprised. I nodded and Alli got some tissues and tried to get the blood off my face. "You have to tell Luci," Alli said. "She already hates me. What's the point?" "For gods sake Cody even a blind person can see that you two like each other. Did you know she was going to break up with Luke? She told me last night but I saw her a minute ago and she said she isn't now because she thinks you are trying to break them up. Cody you need to sort this out." Alli said trying not to hurt me too much. "She was breaking up with him?" Jake asked. "Well she was." Alli said. My heart sank. I almost had a chance.

LUCI'S POV

I miss talking to Cody. I went over to his balcony and knocked on his door. Jake answered. "Hey Luci erm Cody is just cleaning his face, come in." I giggled and went in. "Why is he cleaning his face?" I asked confused. "Long story he can tell you," Jake said banging on Cody's bathroom door to get him out. "Dude come out!" Jake shouted. "Coming," Cody said sounding pained. He came out and I could never of prepared myself for what I saw. He was shirtless and his face was covered in blood. "Cody! What happened to you?" I asked wiping some blood from his face. "Oh well, I just fell on my surf board." He said. "You idiot," I said trying not to laugh at his clumsiness. He turned to go back to his bathroom and I saw all the bruises on his back. "Cody, you have bruises all over your back, how did you get them?" I asked concerned. "I fell hard," he said. I wasn't convinced but he obviously didn't want to tell me. "Come on let's clean you up," I said getting some tissue and dabbing the blood on his face. "Ouch," Cody said wincing. "Sorry," I said turning his face.

I managed to get most of the blood off his face but he winced all the time. "Let's go out somewhere," I said. "I can't." Cody said quickly. "Why not?" I asked almost begging. "Erm, I told mum I would stay in tonight," He said. "Okay no worries we can go out another time. I'll just get Luke to meet me later," I said. "Cody I'm sorry for the way I behaved, I can't go without talking to you," I said. "You guys are cute!" Jake said. I laughed and Cody hugged me. "I'm sorry too," he whispered.
