My mother dropped me off at Brighbird Mall - the best mall around - and she opened the door, helping me out. I was reluctant to take her hand. She was the reason I wanted to get away from home.
Her and Dad had been up the whole night arguing, apparently oblivious to the fact that their sixteen year old daughter was up all night, listening to their shouts. I felt like a little girl - all I wanted was for someone to hold me and tell me it'd be okay, but nobody did. I hadn't told Alex yet, how could I? If I did, my parents would hate me and - dear God, if the story got out, I would be ruined. Say goodbye to the throne, Your Majesty.
"Have fun." My mother said. She looked tired and sad and my heart hurt for her, but if I tried to comfort her, she'd simply shrug me off and say it was nothing. I smiled at her to show my appreciation before she got in and drove away. I made my way through the automatic doors of Brighbird Mall, and my shopping spree begun. I was in and out of every shop, searching for the best and cutest clothes. I ended up buying a sexy short hot pink dress, a tight top that showed of my figure - front and back view - a couple of short skirts, some heels, and some hair products.
Bags hanging from every bit of my arm it could find, I walked into Accesorise, a pretty big store filled with - shocker - accesories. I walked in and my eyes fell upon a rack of sunglasses that were oh-so chic. My eyes wavered and swivelled to the price tag. Three hundred dollars.
Three hundred dollars!
My mouth dropped into an 'o'. They may be designer, but God. I walked right up to the rack, examining the glasses, and my fingers suddenly tingled. If I...
I shook my head. No. I couldn't do that. But I could.
I walked right up to the guy at the sunglasses and glasses counter and saw him perk up. His light eyes raked me up and down, and just to tease him, I pulled my skirt up, showing a little more skin and showing off my ass. I didn't mind getting checked out.
It reminded me that I was desirable, not anything less. Plus, he was hot. "Can I help you?" He asked.
"Yeah, can I have..." I pointed to the cheapest glasses I saw.
"Sure." While he took them out from the display box, I grabbed the chic glasses, tore off the tag and plopped it into my bag. "Actually, on second thought, don't bother." I said. "I have somewhere to be."
I strode out of the shop, hardly believing what I'd done. "Holy shit!" I whispered. I hadn't done anything like that in years.
"Um, excuse me." I froze, and turned around. Crap. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" It was a boy - with pale blonde hair with the slightest tint of brown in it, and he was wearing a green t-shirt which was mentioning Star Trek. He held a pile of books in his hands and he had big, round glasses.
"Nothing."
