I gasped as my phone hit the floor, a crack forming through the glass, the sound echoing off the impact like a crack of a whip. Oh, no. No, no, no. I looked up and sneered. It was a boy in a red shirt, with blonde-brown hair and wearing glasses.

Glasses?

Oh, hell.

My heartbeat rang in my ears as Trevor rose his eyebrows, looking as ignorant as ever.

"You," I hissed. "Oh my God, what the hell? What the hell did you do?" I placed my hand on his shoulder, digging in as hard as I could with my nails and pushing him out of the way, running towards my phone. There was a crack in the top right hand corner, a pattern like a spiderweb about two centimeters long. I scowled, glaring at him, whipping around. "You know what, shitstick? I really tried to be nice. But you know what? This has crossed a line. You-"

"Broke your precious iPhone? Oh, boo hoo." He said, rolling his eyes.

"You definitely want a broken nose, don't you?" I said, narrowing my eyes.

"I'm not afraid of your boy-toy, Ash." He then blinked. Ash?

"Hey, Ash, look! I built a house." Thirteen year-old Trevor grinned, gesturing to his toothpick fort.

"Mhm. Cute." I said shortly, looking at my newly manicured nails. That was the first time I had ever gotten them manicured, because I'd always thought I wasn't pretty enough to. After a lot of work, a skinny waist, and surprisingly good fashion sense, it was getting a whole lot better.

We were sitting in the greener area of the cafeteria in the summer air, me not paying attention, Trevor being his science-obsessed self. I looked over at the pretty girl table, consisting of Heidi, Naomi, Colleen and Emma, the girls of Hellingfield back then. Heidi looked up, her eyes flicking across my face and I breathed in, waiting for her to make a cruel comment as the others giggled, but she just smiled a genuine smile and wiggled her fingers at me.

My mouth almost fell open. Oh my God, she was communicating with me in a friendly manner. I blinked, feeling brave, and blew a kiss in her direction. The other girls tittered, but Heidi glared at them, and they fell silent.

"Hey," Trevor looked up, "Why're you talking to them? They're all such bitches, Ash. You know that." Heidi's eyes fell on Trevor, she pulled a smirk, then turned away. I turned to look at him.

"Trev!" I whined. "Why'd you do that?" I was close to getting in with them - so, so close! He blinked.

"What d'you mean?"

"Don't be a little bitch, Trevor." I snapped, and his mouth fell open. He gawked.

"Excuse me?" He asked, more in disbelief than anger.

"You heard me loud and clear. You're so lame, Trevor. You think you're all that?" I glared at him.

"Ash, I'm sorry, I-"

"We're done. You're not my friend anymore." He looked as though I'd just slapped him in the face.

"You what?"

"You heard me." I brushed the hair out of my face. "I'm really sorry, Trevor, but I'm afraid this really can't go on."

"Ashley." He corrected, looking uncomfortable. "Besides, it's just a little crack."

"Just a little.." My voice was quiet after what he said.

"Yeah." His face hardened. "Stop complaining. You have everything. You're perfect." He said, his features scrunched up in disgust, his voice mocking me. I laughed humorlessly, my voice dry.

"If you think my life is perfect, Quentin," I said, "You need to take a raincheck."

"Really. A raincheck?" He narrowed his eyebrows at me and chuckled slightly. "Ashley you have everything anyone could possibly ask for, okay? You have the money , your mom and dad, atleast you have them". He sounded a bit off guard.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I rolled my eyes, trying my best to act careless.

"I guess, some thing are better left unsaid. Right?" He eyed me as a glint appeared in his eyes as he walked past me hitting me at the shoulders.

I stood there gaping with my mouth open. What the hell did he mean?

Is there something that I'm missing?

What do I care? Trevor is no longer part of my life.
