THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT! <3 xxxxI woke up a few mornings later, with a shadow hung over my bed and one single, blurry grinning face. I groaned and pulled my blankets over my head.
"Dad, it's Saturday, I don't have to get up for school." I told him, sleepily, groaning and turning over. He made that mistake all the time. I hadn't been sent back to school quite yet, I was still having my grieving period over my mom, but I was going to be sent back on Monday, and I would be expected to be the same Ashley Riverwood I had always been.
That wasn't going to be the case.
Things change people, change them far beyond the people they once were, far beyond what they were ever going to be again. I was different now. I couldn't go back to the person I once was. I had to change. I had to change like my Mum, to blossom into a better person.
I heard my Dad laughing, "Oh, Ashley, don't you know what day it is?" I had to peel my eyes open from how tired I was, and I squinted at him.
"Yeah, it's Saturday. So let me sleep in, thanks." I said, closing my eyes again. He burst out laughing. "What?" I asked, getting slightly irritated. What was the big day? What was so important that I had to be dragged out of bed at literally dawn, that I had to be woken right now-
"Ashley, it's your birthday."
Oh.
I shot up out of my bed. "What?" I shrieked, throwing off my blanket. I stared at him. "You're playing a trick on me." He shook his head, still smiling.
"Check the calendar, Ashley." I stared at the calendar, and he was right - March 26th.
"Oh my God." I said, getting up. "I have to change!" I said. Then I paused. "But I have no plans today." I realised. I'd forgotten that today was the celebration of my birth, and with everything that was going on, I hadn't planned anything out. Normally, there would be a huge party, people at my house, my Dad out, and people would be chilling and doing whatever we wanted.
Dad's face lit up in a smirk lingering in the corners of his lips. "Well not exactly". He flicked his tongue. Then there was suddenly an uproar in my room, as Heidi, Trevor, Rihanna and Alex all came barging through the door like a troupe of wild monkeys causing my body to stiff from the shock.
What..?!
"Happy Birthday Ash boo boo!" Heidi sung as she jumped on me, causing me to fall back unto my bed.
She squeezed me tightly and I swear I would be my death day instead of my birthday.
"Heid, Heidi", I croaked out, struggling to get out of her grasp. I could her the others laughing at this, probably enjoying me getting sucked of my life.
Heidi finally let go and held my face firmly into her hands with excitement beaming in her eyes. "Happy, happy birthday bestie! I love you so so much!" She plastered wet kisses all over my face.
"Gross!" I pushed her off me, playfully rolling my eyes. She grinned happily and dodged in for one more kiss on my cheek.
"You know you love me".
"I swear if another person-"
Too late because now I was tackled unto the floor by Trevor, Heidi and Alex.
