I'm so sorry. I took so long to post this time. I can honestly say that depending on what I want done in a chapter it may take a long time or if it's a chapter where I'm sure about the events that will take place it won't be longer than a few weeks. I want to thank all of you for your patience. Shout out to LoveforBook7900 I am posting the next vol at 11:51. Which is technically still today just later. Oh, and thanks for all the beautiful feedback hearing that some of my readers cried over the last volume really warms my heart. Never stop giving me feedback whether it's bad, good or anything in between. Thank you all! Enjoy!

A flurry of rain drops continue to fall onto the brown stones painting it darker. Creating a sheet of water all over the streets.

The orbs of clear water rolled down the window. The sound of rain patter was almost the sound of a lullaby. Your eyelids felt like fifty pounds of sand bags. You constantly closed and opened your eyes.

Every time you leaned your head back onto the leather seat of your wheelchair. You woke up on impact trying to stay awake.

The stress of your long drown out day was taking a complete toll on you. From the call to the police station this morning, the questioning, the heated chess game against Nicolas and trying to convince Worrick why he treated Nicolas too harshly after that slap.

You are physically and emotionally drained despite all that's happened. There is still one thing you have left to do.

It's what you should have been doing for some time now.

"Nicolas." You state drowsily.

Nicolas is still sitting on the corner of the streets next to the steps where Alex spent many nights sitting there just to think.

He hasn't moved an inch except for moving his head out of his arms. He's now laying it across his cradle of arms sideways still not showing his face with rain still going strong his black locs sticking to his face.

Your eyes stayed glued to the back of his head as your vision dims and brightened at the same time.

You place your hands back on the window in an attempt to steady yourself.

"Nicolas how pathetic am I? I can barely keep a promise."

You lean your head onto the cool glass.

"Can you please come back inside. So we can play a game or talk all day. I'll even let you win this time. Please!"

You closed your eyes briefly but quickly opened them trying not to fall asleep.

You hear footsteps wander across the room to your side.

'If Worrick doesn't leave me alone..'

"Worrick, I'm not going to tell you this again. Can't you just let me be! If you're not gonna be there for Nicolas that's fine but I am. So please just take a freaking hint that I'm not moving an in-"

A soft female voice piped up before you can finish your sentence a calm hand is placed on your arm.

"Y/N calm down. He's in his room taking a nap right now it's just me."

You lifted that heavy sleepless chrome of yours looking into those friendly indigo orbs that always seem to set you at ease.

A small half smile formed on her chocolate lips.

"I understand your concerned about Nicolas since I overheard the smack and Worrick filled me in about what happened. He is fine Y/N. He's a lot stronger than you think and arguments like this happen quite a lot. He will return and his cheek will be fine it's not good to resist sleep with those types of injuries. Your body needs rest Y/N."
