"Hey sleepyhead, it's a new day."

Alex announced shaking you gently awake.

You opened your heavy eyes experiencing a splitting headache.

You groaned, bringing your fore fingers to your temple asking with a yawn.

"What time is it?"

"4:pm you've practically slept the day away." Alex explained placing your clothes for the day on the bed along with some shoes.

"No wonder my head feels like it's been run over by a semi-truck. I also blame it on that horrible bed it's not firm enough for my back."

Alex grinned at your statement glad to know your dramatics is still intact while she make up her side of the bed.

"I'm just glad that you're complaining it means you're not completely far gone."

She helps you into your chair and into the bathroom.

You brush your teeth while Alex hums a tune while doing your hair.

After you've washed your face you tried to get dress without Alex help secretly wanting to be alone.

But once you ran into some problems you end up having to ask for it anyway.

'I don't think I'll ever get used to not having the option of solitude. I wish I could be independent maybe Nicolas would change his mind about me?'

You're propelling yourself forward into the living room.

Alex follows behind until the phone starts ringing. She picks it up and answers relatively neutrally.
"Hello, this is the Handymen. Nina! I'm doing fine. You want to talk to Y/N?"

You gingerly shake your head no but Alex tells her.

"Sure, she's right here!"

You mouth 'what?' and frantically whisper no in which she responds with a flat face jamming the phone into your hand.

"You do not need to isolate yourself. Nina's a friend that actually cares about you. Don't push those away!"

You couldn't refute that statement instead of focusing on the friendships lost it doesn't hurt to nourish the ones that are still alive.

You had the phone poised to your mouth and released an awkward statement. "Umm..."

Alex gestured her hands in a circular motion for you to say something.

"Uhhh....hello?" Alex face palmed and shook her head at your weak greeting.

"What? I didn't want to talk to her in the first place." You whispered pulling the phone down so Nina couldn't hear it.

"Y/N? Are you ok? I haven't seen or talked to you since you left the hospital."

Your mind couldn't help but flash through all the recent painful memories that resulted in cutting your arm in an attempt to forget.

"I'm....fine." You ultimately answered not wanting to worry the sweet young nurse.

"Well you don't sound like it. I thought you'd be pretty excited about going home. Worrick told me."

"Yeah." You reply with an edge of melancholy scraping your fingernails gently against the handle bars of your chair.

"I'm gonna miss you Y/N. We had a lot of fun playing games and talking about boys."

You reminisced of all the memories you and Nina made and replied with a sigh. "Yeah, it sucks."

Nina lets out a giggle and said. "Tell me about it."
