calum; 10:09 AM
luke; 10:09 PM

luke;

"hi, babe!" luke giggles, bringing his hands up to his mouth and hiding his smile behind his sweaterpaws.

as dumb and dorky this may sound, he's still not used to calling calum 'babe' or 'baby' – hell, he's still not used to them being boyfriends. everything is just so good to be true, you know? it's like when you pass a test with an eighty, when you didn't even study. you don't feel like it's real, but it is, and you love it. and you feel happy. very, very happy. and there isn't really any words to describe the feeling in your chest that appears every time you think about that certain special moment – or person, in luke's case.

"hey, pretty." calum says, smiling, and luke absolutely loves the way his eyes crinkle by the corners. "how was your day?"

"it was alright," luke shrugs. he didn't really do anything today, except for taking out molly for a walk and staying in his room; missing calum and answering buzzfeed quizzes. "i was waiting for your call."

"i know, i'm sorry. i just woke up, like, twenty minutes ago. michael kept me up all night watching buzzfeed."

luke giggles once again and calum smiles at him. he wonders how a simple smile can make his chest hurt this much. "buzzfeed is great, so i forgive you."

"ah, thank you, sweets." calum grins, sending luke a wink. "oh, i have to talk to you."

"okay," luke says and grabs his laptop to place it on his lap. "what is it?"

"the day i asked you out – everything was so rushed, and i hate it because there was so many things i wanted to tell you. but then i guess i got carried away and it sucks." calum finishes with a pout, his eyebrows furrowed together. luke smiles at how cute he looks – like a mad puppy.

"that's okay," luke says. he doesn't really care about how calum asked him out or whatever, he is just super happy to finally be able to call calum his. and even though they are miles and miles away from each other, this is the happiest luke's ever been. calum has always been the reason behind his smile. "it doesn't matter. i liked it, it was cute."

calum smiles and his whole face lights up. his eyes melt into a warm almond color due to the sunlight creeping in through his window and luke's chest starts to burn at the sight. there are literally no words that can fathom how much he adores calum. he wishes he was there to take a picture. or maybe sixty.

"okay, but i just wanted to tell you that you're beautiful and you're kinda, sorta, basically, pretty much always on my mind."

"god," luke mumbles, smiling, and grabs the nearest pillow from his bed to cover his red face. "stop. you're killing me."

"sorry baby," calum says, and luke know he's smiling if he can't see him.

"i am going to puke," another voice says and luke uncovers his face only to be met with michael's nostrils on the screen. what a sight.

"hi mikey," luke says, giving the red-haired boy a smile. he could be jealous, but he's not letting the whole 'i kissed michael because i like you' stuff ruin this. he and calum are dating, so there is definitely nothing to worry about. "how are you?"

"i am just dandy!" michael says and jumps on bed with calum with a big bag of hot cheetos. "how about you? how is this greasy burrito treating ya? dude, he never stops talking about you."

luke raises one of his eyebrows at calum, who just gives him a why smile. "oh really?"

"mhm," michael nods. "the other time, we were watching this movie where a boy spanked his–"

"okay!" calum says, clapping his hands, face flushed a deep shade of red. "that's enough, thank you, mikey. you can go now."

"oh, i'm fine here, thanks." michael smiles at him and shoves a hot cheeto on his mouth. luke smiles amusedly at the pair.

"i will kill you," calum says in a serious tone. he whines when michael makes no effort in moving. "i will seriously cut your balls off when you sleep if you don't go away."

"damn okay," michael rolls his eyes and shoves a handful of hot cheetos in his mouth. "bye luke, it was nice to see you. i like your sweater." michael waves one last time and flicks calum's forehead before getting up the bed and walking away.

calum sighs. "sorry for that, he's so annoying."

"i like him, he's cool. his hair is brighter than my future."

"you know what's brighter than my future?" calum asks, a mischievous smile on his face. "your smile."

luke rolls his eyes. this boy is cheesier than pizza. but he can't deny he doesn't love it. or him. "shut up, calum."
