calum; 6:36 AM.
luke; 6:36 AM.

they both wake up to the sound of calum's alarm ringing loudly in their ears. the sunlight pouring through the window makes the younger boy groan. he hides his face on the crook of his best friend's neck, tightening his grip around his waist, not wanting to let go just yet – even if he had to.

"luke," calum whispers, smiling when he feels luke place a soft kiss on his neck.

"just a few more cuddles," luke mumbles, closing his eyes and basking in calum's warmth and scent, his mind still not wrapping around the fact that he will have to learn how to live without calum an entire year.

calum sighs and checks the clock placed on his bedside table. 6:41 AM. he'll take a short shower.

"just a few more cuddles." he says and pulls luke to his chest, enjoying the very few minutes they still have together.

"you won't forget about me, right?" luke mumbles after a few minutes of silence, the feeling of his thin lips brushing against calum's skin as he speaks making the tan boy's head a little dizzy.

calum frowns. "of course not. you're my best friend."

luke sighs and removes his face from the crook of calum's neck. when their eyes meet, luke starts tearing up a bit but he holds the tears back before they can start sliding down his cheeks.

"you will meet other people," luke says with a pointed look and a smile, although he's really dying inside.

calum shakes his head and smiles at his best friend, brushing a strand of his sunshine hair out of his face. while he does that, luke admires the way calum's eyes melt into a soft almond color, making them look even more heavenly. there was no denying it, his best friend was beautiful.

"you're my best friend," calum repeats. "and that's forever. no matter how many miles away we are from each-other."

ok so that was kind of an intro but anyways im v excited for this!!

it's gonna be a very simple and cute fic so ya

the chapters will consist of their texts, calls and facetime calls. there will be future smut but not for now smh
