Samantha's POV

"I'll grab the rest, just go in the house." I told Niall as we arrived home from grocery shopping. Our house was nearly empty half of the time because Louis seemed to make the habit of getting the food when we all still lived here. I carefully closed the car door with one hand, balancing groceries in the other. The sun made the air reach a whole new temperature and was something we didn't see too often here. It was nice to finally feel warm after the cold weather we had been receiving lately. I made my way into the house, putting my three bags on the counter.

"Were you expecting to get something in the mail today?" I heard Niall ask behind me. I thought about it but nothing came to mind.

"No, why?" I turned around to see him holding a big orange envelope in his hands.

"I grabbed it from the mailbox on the way in. It has both yours and Liam's name on it." I walked over to him and reached out to grab the envelop he was giving me. The package had some weight to it which confused me even further. I focused on the words written in the top left corner of the envelop.

"It says here, 'C & H Jefferson, Advocate and Attorney.'" I read out and looked at Niall. "Like a Lawyer?"

"I've never heard of them before. Maybe it's a law firm somewhere but why would they be sending you something?" Niall pulled out his phone and looked up the name of whoever sent the envelope. My eyebrows creased as I stood there with more confusion until I remembered Liam's name along side mine. Whatever was in this package seemed to be important and a little part of me was nervous to find out.

"Ah I found it. It is a law firm but nowhere close to here-" He paused, and looked up from his phone. The look on his face was unreadable but he looked just as confused as I was. "It's a law firm located in Wolverhampton."

"Wolverhampton? Why would anything be sent from there? All of the legal issues were settled before we left." We remained in silence as I examined the mysterious package further. A part of me wanted to open it right then and there but something stopped me, wondering if I should wait until Liam gets home to open it with him. Unfortunately it seemed like my curiosity was getting the better of me.

"What do you think I should do?" I asked Niall. His lips formed a straight line as he thought.

"I'm not going to tell you what to do but I'm just as curious as you are to find out what's in it." I carefully weighed my options. The right thing to do was wait for Liam but he could be gone for most of the day for all I know. I could call him and ask but then I'd risk him telling me to wait.

Before I could think any further, I found myself starting to lift and tear the top left corner of the envelope. My suspicions were confirmed when I lifted the big stack of papers from the package. I placed the heavily written papers on the counter next to Niall and I.

My eyes scanned the papers and at first it was just a bunch of words that meant nothing to me. My eyes trailed down the paper until something caught my attention. I flipped through the remainder of the papers before moving my eyes forward and putting the papers flat on the counter.

"What is it?" Niall asked beside me. My eyes fell to the bottom of the page where the two familiar signatures were perfectly written. My fingers carefully traced over their names, lighter than a feather.

I looked at Niall. "These papers are all for my parents will's."

"Oh." He paused. "Are you going to read them?"

"I am but not here, I feel like this isn't just something you can find and read."

"Why don't we go sit at the kitchen table and you can read it there." Niall suggested. I nodded my head and we made our way across the open kitchen.
