Harry's POV
The first place I checked was the bathroom in the hallway.
Empty.
"Sara?" I tried to call out. I couldn't speak too loud or else I would wake Addison up. That was the last thing I needed to worry about right now. I frantically searched the upstairs but came up short. My heart began to race as I tried to eliminate the horrible thoughts that were traveling through my head. I knew that stress would only cloud my judgment at this point and I needed to stay focused for the time being.
There was only one room that remained- it was the bathroom in our room. I subconsciously avoided the room due to the fact that I knew I would have to come face to face with something I never wanted to see. I approached our room with what seemed like severe caution. The door was wide open but everything in the room looked as if it was untouched since last time I was in here just a few short hours ago.
"Sara?" I called out timidly. I wouldn't let my voice sound as nervous as I was. All of a sudden I heard a loud crash from behind the closed door of the bathroom. I rushed over to it and immediately opened the door. In front of me was something no words could ever describe.
"Harry-" Sara's eyes were bloodshot red and leaked with tears. "Harry I can explain."
Red. Everything was red. I tried to divert my blank stare but I couldn't avoid taking in every little detail of the situation. It seemed like everything was a giant blur and I was trying to piece everything together.
My heart was beating faster than I could comprehend as I saw her on the ground with a blade in her right hand, her left gripped onto the side of the counter. I tried to speak but no words came out of my mouth- I was left completely speechless. I'd seen the scars before and I knew what she did when she didn't know what else to do but I had never actually caught her doing the gruesome act. There was so much more blood then I could have ever imagined.
"Sara-" I heard myself saying, choking on the word. She looked up at me and all I saw in her eyes was defeat. It were the eyes I seen all too much.
"Please don't be mad at me." Tears started to collect in her eyes and they were begging to be set free but for some reason she wouldn't let them.
"How-" I tried to compose my words together to even form a sentence. I was at a loss for words and anything I could think of never reached my lips to activate my voice. "How could I not be when I see something like this?"
"I know I messed up but you have to understand that it feels like I don't have any other choice." She pleaded, still gripping onto the blade that remained in her hand.
"Understand? Please tell me how I will ever be able to understand this?" I ripped my eyes from her and began pacing back and forth across the floor. Trying to make sense of all this seemed nearly impossible. This was a situation I prayed I could just run away from and never have to deal with. My hands tugged on my hair to alleviate some of my raising range of emotions and anxiety.
I stopped in my tracks when I heard a quiet sob from her and realized my yelling at her would only make her feel worse. And in this condition, that's not what she needs. Her health and well being took priority over everything else, including my selfish want to lecture her on why she shouldn't be doing this.
I approached her and got to my knees in front of her. I took the razor from her shaky fingers and tried to place it on the counter. I stopped mid air the second I realized what was in my hand was that of my own razor. It was hard to realize the possibility that this all could have been avoided if I had just put it somewhere out of her reach. I made a mental note not to be so careless as to where I leave them from now on.
