For helping me with the plot :)
“We’re losing her!” Someone yelled over me.
“Clear!” My eyes snapped open. I was expecting to see medics leaning over me. But instead I was watching them try and bring me back. My first thought was........I’ve got to be dreaming. Any second I’ll wake up in my bed and be fine. But I wasn’t coming back. My dad was yelling “Destiny! Don’t leave me!” The doctors didn’t give up.
“Clear!” My body arched as the electric current ran through it. I looked around the ambulance more than a little panicked. It's not every day you see your own dead body. I noticed boy standing off to the side. The boy looked my age with blonde hair that fell into his bright silver eyes. The most shocking thing about him was the beautiful tan wings spread out behind him. “You ready to go?” He questioned.
"Go where?" As far as I was concerned the only place I wanted to go was back in my body.
"To heaven of course." I blinked at him a few times before exploding.
"No, no, NO! Put me back!' I yelled pointing at my body. "I’m not going anywhere with you! I'm tripping. This is a dream!" I shouted. "Leave me alone! Go away!" He reached out to me and i flinched away. A hurt look crossed his face.
"Destiny, There's no easy way to tell you this but you've died. I can't put you back in your body. I'm so sorry." I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
I’m not dead." I said calmly. He looked at me in pity.
"No, it's not true!" tears streamed down my face as I took in my surroundings. The boy stepped forward and enveloped me in a tight hug. I'm not sure how long we stayed like that, but the ambulance had lurched to a stop and my body was wheeled past me. The tears stopped flowing but his hug never loosened.
"Thanks... um...."
"Luca Bartilone." He said slowly let go of me. I nodded.
“Let’s go” There was a flash of white light then everything went black. I felt like I’d been squeezed into an absurdly small space. It was hard to breath and my limbs felt heavy. My knees made contact with hard ground and I was suddenly aware that I could breathe again. I slowly stood up on shaky legs and looked around. We landed in a beautiful garden. Flowers of all type and color were blooming; Willow trees had their branches spread over benches like they were trying to protect them. Luca squeezed my hand, bringing me back to reality. I noticed his clothes had been replaced by tan khakis and a white button down shirt. When the sunlight hit his blonde hair just right you could have mistaken it for gold. He looked right at me curiosity glowed in this sliver eyes.
“What?” He questioned.
“Nothing.” I blushed. Crap, Crap, Crap! I mentally cursed myself for staring, let alone being caught.
“What exactly do I do here?”
“Well most Angels reunite with old friends and family, learn more languages, read. I don’t know there are too many things to name.” He paused. “But you, you’ll be training to become a guardian angel. Not everyone gets that honor.”
