"Happy" family

Orlando and flynn, back for good.

(Katys POV)
Orlando's been back for about 3 days and Mackenzie seems fine with it. She doesn't really approach him or talk to him much but she's also not shying away from him so hopefully soon she will warm up to him. I have an interview on the Ellen DeGeneres show today with Orlando so I'm praying that Mackenzie and Flynn behave backstage. "Alright Mackenzie and Flynn, please go upstairs and get changed and go to the toilet both of you's." I try remind Mackenzie mostly. We get ready and in no time the driver turns up. We all get in and head to the show. Theirs of course paps everywhere. This is probably one of their favourite places to snap celebrity's I'm just glad their not allowed in where the studio buildings are. We get inside the building and are lead to a blue room with the TV on. We're on first so the TV is just showing the dress rehearsal for the show. "Is there anything I can get for you's?" The lady asks. "Umm.. Oh do you have any kids toys or anything because these two have to stay in here alone when we go out." I point at Mackenzie and Flynn. "Oh yes I'll get them right away do you want me to inform someone so they can watch them while your on stage?" "Yes please, Thank you." I smile at her. She later returns with some toys and another lady to watch the kids. We head out when it's our turn. "It's Katy perry everyone! And Orlando bloom!" The crowd screams and then screams louder as we walk out hand in hand. After hugs and small greetings we all sit down. "So! How have you's been?" Ellen nods at me first. "Busy, very very busy haha." "I've been working on a secret project so pretty much the same, just very busy." Orlando replies after me. "So Katy I heard.." "O oh that's never a good thing to hear hahah." The audience laughs and so does Ellen. "Hahah, I heard that you have adopted a child? Is this true?" I knew that was coming, but I did write on my form that she could ask anything. "Ah yes, Mackenzie." Short and sweet reply. "So how did Mackenzie come into the picture?" "Well It wasn't planned, she attended a concert of mine awhile back, probably near on 3 months back. I could tell by the big guy following her around that she was either in trouble or in some kind of special care. She attempted to run away while we were having our photo taken, she bolted for the door and we searched high and low for her outside where she headed. Not thinking she would have come back into the building. I headed back in because as much as I wanted to help, I would have made the situation worse if I was spotted by paparazzi. As I was heading back to my dressing room which is through a bunch of hallways she came speeding around the corner and slammed straight into me. My first instinct was to just grab her so she didn't run off again. She was red all over and completely out of breathe but still tried to fight me off. Eventually her body caved in and I managed to carry her back to my dressing room until we found the guy she was with. By now she had passed out so I had time to ask him about what was going on, he informed me and I guess I made the immediate decision to remove her from this situation by adopting her." Everyone claps and cheers. I decided to leave out the institute part for her protection. "Wow that's incredible! Did you ever think to yourself or wake up the next day and think. 'What have I done? I can't look after a child' or was there no regrets?" "There were no regrets but there are times even now when I question if I'm fit to be a mother at this stage in my life but then I think you know what? I'm 31, it's now or never and anyone who knows me knows I'd be crushed if I never became a mother no matter how the child came into my life." Everyone cheers again. "So Orlando, how has this impacted your life?" "Well I love Katy, I would do anything to make her happy. I totally accept Mackenzie as my daughter but I don't think at this stage Mackenzie is too keen to think the same as me." Ellen cuts him off. "Yeah I wouldn't be so keen to think of an older man as my daughter either hahah." The crowd laughs. "Hahah I mean she's not ready to accept me as a father figure right now but that's okay, we've only seen each other for about a week so it will take some time and I'm fine with that." He smiles. "Has she accepted Katy as a mother figure?" "Oh definitely, those two are inseparable. There's a bond between them that I'll never understand but I totally admire. I have a bond between my son Flynn of course but it's like their on another level. I guess because Mackenzie is adopted and she knows, I sort of expected there to  be some form of resentment or hostilely from her towards Katy but there's none of that at all. That kid will scream the house down if she can't find Katy or she thinks Katy's left her." "So there's obviously some separation anxiety, is there anything that worries either of you about her?" I answer first. "Not really, I mean it's expected that she'll be nervous or worried about being left alone again or left with people she doesn't know. Other then the separation problems shes doing absolutely great." Orlando just smiles to cue that he has nothing else to add. "Alright that's all we have time for today with Miss Katy Perry and Mr Orlando Bloom!" The crowd goes crazy and we all stand and hug goodbye.
