(Mackenzie's POV)
I wake up before Katy but I can't get out of bed, the floors creak so everyone downstairs would know I'm awake and I don't want to go down there without Katy. I stretch and re-adjust myself, I don't really need to be quiet or still Katy sleeps through everything. I lay there and stare at the roof because I'm too awake to go to sleep again. "You can go downstairs if you like, they won't bite." Katy says before rolling onto her back and stretching. I just shake my head and look at her to make sure she seen that I answered. "Why not?" She sits up and looks down on me. "I don't know, I just don't want to.. Sorry." I look down and fiddle my thumbs. "That's okay, I'll go down with you." She smiles and gets up so I follow her. "Good morning sweetie." She kisses Orlando's head waking him from his slumber. Flynn's already up and rolling around his side of the bed and playing with the blankets. "Come on Flynn we'll let daddy get up." She puts her hand out to Flynn and he grabs it and slides off the bed. We head down stairs and Angela's already here and she's brought Stella again. "Mornin' your up early for once." Angela jokes at Katy. "Kids" Katy winks back at her. I don't get it, did I wake her up? Whoops? "So mum, dad and me were thinking we should all go out for breakfast today, So how about it?" Angela picks Stella up whose whining and pulling on her top. "Yeah sure sounds great, I'll just go make sure Orlando's up. Mackenzie go get some clothes on ok? And Flynn come with me." Katy grabs Flynn's hand and heads back upstairs, I follow and go to the room and grab some clothes. I get changed and flop backwards into the bed with my arms out and rest for a few seconds. Katy comes into the room and heads over to her bag of stuff. "Are you ready to go?" "Yes." "Okay, here's your shoes." She passes me a pair of my shoes from her bag, I guess they couldn't fit in mine. Katy gets changed and we all head downstairs and out to the cars. Flynn goes with Angela and Stella because Angela has a spare car seat. I go with Katy and Orlando in Keith's car (Katy's dad) and Mary and Keith (Katy's parents) go in their main car. We head to a really cute 1950's red, white and black vintage pop soda themed cafe for breakfast. Me and Flynn get pancakes. Flynn shares his with Stella because neither of them are old enough to eat all those pancakes on there own. I eat almost all my food and then me, Flynn and Stella go play on the playground at the cafe. We have to be careful because there's paparazzi everywhere outside the cafe. I don't recognise her at first but a smaller lady comes into the cafe, she has black hair like Katy's but short. She looks around the room glancing at all the people before spotting me. I stop laughing and playing when I realise who it is. She just stands there for a few seconds and we stare at each other when Katy notices the tension and gives me a strange look as in 'whose that?' The lady starts to walk towards me and picks up the pace. I walk backwards until my back hits the wall and I can't go any further. "Mackenzie?!?" The woman's face drops in shock. That look you would expect from a child who's just found their long lost dog. I grab the wall behind me and without turning back try to feel what's behind me and what I can hide behind. There's nothing there just the concrete wall separating me from the outside. As the woman gets closer she widens her arms out for a hug. I duck under her arms slamming my knees against the concrete before leaping to my feet and running to Katy. With tears streaming down my face I run behind her and jam myself between Katy's chair and Orlando's chair. "Hey!? What's wrong?" Katy grabs my arm tight as the woman approaches our table. I drop to the ground and hide myself between the two chairs. Katy lets go as I drop and grabs my hand when I'm firmly placed on the floor where I feel not even an ounce safe right now. "Oh I'm so sorry, she's always been quite the drama queen." "Mackenzie who is this?" Katy leans down and whispers to me without giving the woman the slightest amount of compassion. "My..my mum?" Katy immediately tights her grip on my hand. "What are you doing here?" Katy almost demands. "Oh I was just in the neighbourhood and I decided to stop by for a coffee. Did Mackenzie tell you she grew up here?" My mother has always been naive. She doesn't take Katy's firmness as a warning so Katy gets more aggressive. "No she didn't and she didn't need to, if you don't mind Mackenzie has no business with you anymore so please leave my family alone." "Well, Hun just remember she will always be my daughter. Not everything that comes out of the kids mouth can be trusted." My mother smiles at Katy before excusing herself from the conversation. I stay on the floor and no one talks until she's left the building. "She's gone, you're okay." Katy's grabs my other hand and pulls me up. I wrap my arms around her. my body starts to shake uncontrollably. She pulls me onto her lap and I stay there until we leave. Stella and Flynn are too young to know or care about what just happened and the adults are too wise to discuss it in front of me.
