Samuel explained to us more about it. It was all very confusing and hard for me to understand, but he said that the computer matrix world would be nothing like our world. I could communicate with Michael and anyone else in the world with signals, kind of like sending messages to each other with our minds. Everything was controlled with our minds, including typing. We would be able to contact people from the outside world using e-mail and any other social network. We would even be able to go on the Internet together and play video games.

The hardest part for me to get my head around was that we would have no senses. We would loose our bodies, which I had always thought would mean you were dead. But our spirit would live on the computer, kind of like a ghost. At first I thought this meant that I would never be able to see Michael's face again or hear his voice, but Samuel reassured me that it wasn't true. Our minds could re-create our previous life experiences and senses, which meant I could hold virtual Michael in my arms and he could feel it back and we would not be able to tell the difference between it and real life.

He explained to us how to use it as well, in case we ever wanted to. That part was a little harder to get Samuel to say though. Michael continued to get him to talk through violence. Apparently we needed a better computer than our laptop, and then we would need the right material to scan our brains.

"And where would we get brain-scanning material?" Michael asked. He was asking a little too many questions which made me scared he was considering doing it more than he should be. Samuel didn't reply, so Michael brought out the knife for the third time.

"Do you guys have it? Your boss?"

He opened his mouth slowly as if he was about to say something before quickly shutting it.

"DO YOU HAVE IT???" Michael screamed again. Before I could react, Michael pulled back his clenched fist and punched it into his face.

"Michael!" I yelled, horrified. Samuel turned his head around slowly and I could see he had a big bruise mark just a bit above his cheek.

"I think we should get some sleep now," I said to him, grabbing his shoulder.

"Okay fine," He said, pulling away to look at Samuel. "But tomorrow you're going to tell me who your boss is and where we can get this brain stuff, got it?" And with that he walked out of the room, me following right behind him.

At first I just followed along behind him as he stormed over to the direction of the car, completely silent. He was obviously in deep thought. I ran up to him and put my arm around his back, grabbing on to his arm.

"I'm sorry about that," was all he said.

"What?"

"I'm sorry you had to see that. It's just there is no other way to get him to talk, ya know?"

I thought about that for a few seconds. "Are you seriously considering using it?"

"Well... ya. I mean think about it, we could just always be together. And we could still contact people from the outside world."

"But.. it would just be our minds right? We wouldn't even be there!"

Michael did a little face palm to let me know I wasn't getting it. He obviously understood the entire thing more than me. "Our minds our what make us who we are Gavin. We could replicate our bodies with each other."

"But... but... Once we go in we would never get to leave. I can't make that much of a committed choice!"

"Well that's not completely true, if they can get us in they could probably get us out as well. Maybe like find us a new body and re-create a human brain and-"
