When Phil woke up Dan's head was buried into his chest, his closed eyes were stained with tears as if he had woken up in the middle of the night and cried some more. A sigh escapes his mouth as he tightens his grip on his sleeping boyfriend. Phil presses his soft lips against Dan's forehead. "It will get better." He promises. "We'll find a way Dan, I'll be here every step of the way. Boyfriend or not, I love you." Phil whispers, twisting his fingers around Dan's chocolate hair.

Dan makes a humming sound and rubs his head against Phil's chest a little before he stops moving and let's out a sleepy sigh. "You're so cute." Phil smiles down at Dan.

A groan escapes Dan's mouth that surprises Phil. "I don't ever want to leave this position."

"Same here." Phil replies, kissing Dan's forehead. "But we might as well get dressed, we have to sign out of the hotel this morning." Dan groans once more.

"I just want to stay and cuddle with you forever. No one to come between us except ourselves." He sighs and turns onto his back. "It's not fair."

"Agreed, but let's just ignore this topic okay? Focus on the happy, here and now." Dan nods at Phil's words. "Kay, now, I'm going to go get dressed." Phil swings his legs over the side of the bed and grabs his bag, rummaging threw it to grab some clothes. He grabs his nyan cat shirt along with some black jeans  he walks into the bathroom and closes the door behind him, leaving Dan to lay on the bed by himself. The young prince's thoughts are consumed by his boyfriend. It was going to be hard loving him, but he's worth it. That smile of his face can clear all the worries from Dan's head. He is so utterly in love he doesn't know what to do with himself.

Eventually he convinces himself that he should grab some clothes and get ready for the day. Dan gets out of bed and opens up his suitcase. He reaches his hand in and feels something hard and metal. Dan grabs the object and pulls it out. The prince was quite surprised to see what was in his hands. The object, in fact, wasn't metal at all, it was silver and it was his crown. It was big enough to fit his head but snug enough so it wouldn't slip off. It had been customized for his head shape and was molded into a bigger shape every time it go to small for him. It was decorated with a few jewels but nothing to fancy, especially not as fancy as his fathers golden crown. One day his would be gold to, but since he was a prince it would remain silver until his parents stepped down from the throne.

It must've fallen into my bag, Dan thinks to himself.

The bathroom door opens and Phil walks out. Dan doesn't turn to greet him with his friendly smile, instead he runs his fingers over the jewels and designs. "What's that?" Phil asks, sitting next to Dan.

"My crown, when I put it on my head, it makes me a different person. When this is on my head, I'm not Daniel James Howell the only Howell who's ever been gay and wants to be like everyone else, I'm Daniel James Howell the straight prince who is next in line for the throne and who is all posh with lots of manners and crap." A sigh escapes his lips. "Forget it, I have to live with this anyway. Shouldn't be making the worst of it."

"Can I see that?" Phil asks. Dan nods and hands him the crown. "So, this makes you someone else you say?"

"Correct." Dan eyes him oddly

"Well, let's change that." Dan gives him a confused glance as Phil moves from sitting beside him to kneeling in front of him. "When you wear this crown, you should be yourself, that's what everyone, including me, wants you to be. Yourself. If your going to become king your going to have to be yourself and believe." Phil has a kind smile on his face as he puts the crown on Dan's head. "This crown shouldn't be a mask of yourself Dan, it should be you. No more straight prince whose posh with a lot of manners and is in line of the throne next. From now on, your the gay fanboy prince that I know and love when you wear this crown." Dan doesn't get to answer, Phil's lips are on his before he can speak or say the right words.
