June
Dan paced back and forth at the alter. Today was the day.
The day he would marry Phil, and it would be the wedding Dan promised him all those years ago.
They used the same set up as the wedding Dan and Zoe were supposed to have, but changed it up a bit as he wanted his lover to feel like this was for him and not because he didn't want to rearrange the whole room for another wedding. They also had to get new flowers as the old ones died over the past month. But other than that the whole planning process had gone smoothly.
Dan was happy as could be but he was also very anxious for people to start walking down the aisle so the wedding could start and he could have Phil in his arms once again. The order was Winnie and Charlie as neither of them had dates, Zoe and Alfie, Tyler and a man he had met after Phil's breakup with him, which he took rather well, Emma and someone whom Dan had forgot, the flower boy would be Martyn and Camilla's son who would be escorted by his mum and dad since he hasn't gotten the hang of walking yet, and Phil would be following behind with his mother. It all seemed so perfect. Everything was going right for once. Nothing could ruin this day.
The suits fit perfectly and the dresses looked stunning on the girls, even if Phil complained about Winnie's dress being to inappropriate for someone her age. But Dan had convinced him that a strapless as dress wasn't something he should get to worked up about.
There was no time to change anything. Except for Dan and Phil not being married, that would changed soon enough.
"Mate, calm down. You two have been married before, it's not that big of a deal." Chris reassures him.
"Not that big of a deal? Five years Chris, five years I've been waiting to have him back in my arms and now he'll be in my arms forever. I'm excited but also a little nervous. My last wedding didn't go as planned and my first wedding took about five minutes." Dan explains, biting gently on his bottom lip.
"Hey, it's Phil you're marrying here. The one you actually love remember? Not some girl you were forced into loving." Chris tells him.
"Yes but, I can't help but feel that something bad is going to happen."
"It's all going to be okay Dan, Pj and I will be in the second row if you need me. I also have my gun on me as I'm still working, sadly. So you're safe from harm."
"Thanks Chris." Dan smiles gratefully at him.
"We're on air!" A camera man yells and everyone goes quiet as the music start to play. Everyone stands up and watches as couple by couple start to walk down the aisle. Dan tries to keep a straight face for the cameras that are recording everything at once, but it's hard when he's feeling as anxious as ever, all he wants is to push past all of them and escort Phil personally down the aisle. Alas, he knows he can't do that, making a fool of yourself twice on live tv isn't something to be proud of. He take a deep breath in and closes his eyes. When he opens them he sees the most beautiful man in the world walking down the aisle with his arm locked with his mum's.
The man of Dan's dreams is wearing a white suit that hugs his body nicely and a black dress shirt underneath that matches his hair. He looks stunning in his suit and it makes Dan's jaw drop. The king has never felt so lucky in his life, and for the first time in five years, he knows he's doing the right thing.
Dan takes hold of Phil's hand and helps guide him up the few stairs until they are face to face. Dan's is absolutely speechless as his eyes study Phil up and down, trying to memorize all of him
"You look beautiful Phil." Dan says breathlessly as he takes hold of Phil's other hand.
Phil chuckles and gives Dan's hands a reassuring squeeze. "You look absolutely stunning, and even though I'm still slightly mad it took you five years to come to your senses, I love you."
