One week later

Dan lets out a loud, frustrated groan as he flops onto his bed with nothing but his boxers on. Today was the day. Wedding day. He had been dreading this day every since he spent those three days with Phil, the man he actually loved. He's been craving to run back into his arms and tell him how sorry he was and how he had been an idiot these five years. Although he can't, because he's here, not even half dressed, and with the wedding in an hour.

His clothes are laying on his bed and were neatly folded, but he just couldn't make himself put them on.

Then a knock comes from the door which saves him from his miserable state. "Sire?" A maid, Kim, calls from behind the door. "Are you decent?"

"No, I'm a mess." He replies, turning onto his back and being careful not to touch the his suit so it won't wrinkle.

"May I come in?" She asks, opening the door a little bit.

"I suppose."

Kim walks in and closes the door behind her. When she turns towards Dan and sees the shape he's in, she has to bite her lip not to laugh. "Would you like some help sir?"

"Yes, I'm helpless right now." Dan sighs as he sits up.

Kim shakes her head and walks over to him. "I can help with the shirt, hair, and suit jacket. The pants and tie are your own problem." She tells him.

"Fair enough." Dan grabs the pants and stands up to pull them over his long legs. He does the belt himself and Kim grabs the white dress shirt before walking over to the King.

"Arms up sire." She commands and Dan obliges. But there's is a huge height gap between them. "Okay, put your arm out forward." Dan chuckles as he does so and Kim slides his arms into the sleeves before telling him to raise his arms and let the shirt slide down his the rest of him. She then helps his head find then head hole before pulling the rest that had jumbled together down over his chest and stomach. "Suit jacket next. This is easy, just slip your arms in here." She instructs and Dan laughs at how much she's acting like he's never dressed before. "There. Now let's go into the bathroom and straighten your hair." She says as she finishes up buttoning his suit.

She takes hold of his wrist and pulls him along. Dan grabs the tie on the way and lets it hang on his neck. Kim sits him down on the closed toilet seat and plugs in his straighteners, as she does that Dan does his tie. "Kim, can I ask you something?"

"Anything sir." She replies, keeping some distance between her hand and the straightener to see if it's heating up.

"Do you ever feel like, like you're making a mistake?" He asks as he slides the tie under his suit jacket.

"Sire, I work as a maid, I feel like that all the time. Is my uniform on correctly? Did I clean this room? Did I do this correctly? Etcetera." Kim picks up the straighteners and gets to work on Dan's hair.

"No, not like that. Like, a life mistake. That you have two different options but you feel you're making the wrong one and it took you so long to realize that?" He asks, looking up into her green eyes.

"Yes sir, many times actually. When I was younger my dad died and it was my mum and me against the world as we took care of my two younger siblings. I had many moments like that sir. But now I have this job and I don't regret it." She explains. "I'm sorry, this is about you continue."

"Don't apologize! If you had told me that sooner I would've helped you out! I wish you told me Kim."

"Thanks your highness. But we can talk about that later even though I am very happy to hear you say that." She pauses for a few seconds as she straightens his hair around his ear. "If you absolutely knew you were making a bad mistake, you should go with the other option. Just listen to your heart." She explains with a small shrug.
