February

The whole day Phil was doodling hearts all over his papers in class. No one said anything about it, after all, it was Valentine's day and his ring finger was no longer naked.

A smile never left Phil's face as he thought of Dan. Today would be their third Valentine's day together but this one was special, this time they would be celebrating it as husband and husband. His smile grows as he thinks of those three words. Husband and husband. He loved those words together, especially when it was describing Dan and him. It was one of the many words he loved, which also included ours, us, and lovers.

"Alright, see you all tomorrow, have a nice Valentine's day!" The teacher smiles and the classroom soon empties. Phil practically runs out of the room and jumps onto his bike to pedal all the way home.

When he arrive at home he notices the familiar motorcycle of his husband waiting outside. Phil parks his bike in the back before running to the front door and opening it. The door opens with a whoosh and he's flooded with the warm air from inside. He lets out an icy breath that swirls into the sky before heading into his house with his nose and tips of ears red. He sniffles to keep his nose from running. Phil had unfortunately been catching a  cold over the week. It wasn't to bad, but he would sniffle and sneeze sometimes.

"I'm home!" Phil announces as he enters his house.

"Phillip!" Dan calls in his low voice before running into the kitchen and jumping on Phil, wrapping his legs around him. "How was teaching school?" Phil smiles and puts his hands on Dan's butt to support him. Phil never really quite knew why, but Dan had always insisted on calling it 'teaching school' not 'university'.

"great. How was your day?"

"Same old same old. But now it's fantastic!" The prince smiles widely and kisses Phil's cheek.
Phil's cheeks turn a slight pink and he sniffles to keep his nose from leaking. "Is my lion sick?" Dan pulls his head away from Phil's shoulder and looks him in the eye. Phil nods slightly. "In that case I'll just have to take care of you!" Dan smiles widely and kisses Phil softly.

"Dan, you're going to get yourself sick." Phil whispers as he pulls away.

"Oh well." He hops down from straddling Phil.

"Phil! Welcome home." His mother comes in from the next room and stands on her tip toes to kiss his cheek.

"Thanks mum. Did Dil behave himself while I was out?"

"Of course! I have the best son in law in the world!" She beams and kisses Dan's cheek as well. "This handsome young lad was helping me cook a Valentine's day cake and take down some Christmas decorations."

"It was really fun actually. Mum is quite a fun person to be with." Dan compliments.

"Awe! I love you so much." Phil's mum embraces Dan in a tight hug.

"Um, hello, actually son by birth here." Phil comments, earning a smile from Dan.

"Oh sorry Phil." Linda lets go of Dan and hugs Phil briskly. "I'll be off now, I have to grab something to get for Steve. Love you two, I won't be gone long." She kisses both of their cheeks once more before grabbing a jacket, putting her boots on, and leaving the house.

As soon as the door closes Phil sneezes. "Let's get you to bed." Dan instructs, putting his hand on Phil's back to guide him.

"But I don't want to sleep. I want to spend time with my husband like I've been planning to all day." Phil whines.

"Alright, how about the couch then? I'll make you some soup and we can watch a romantic movie?" Phil wants to shake his head and protest but another sneeze makes him nod. Dan wraps his arm around Phil's waist and guides him to the living room where he helps him sit down even though Phil isn't that sick and doesn't need his help.
