Uninspected Past

Chapter 11

(Sonic's POV)

We stayed like that for several minutes until, we broke, gasping for air. We stared into each other's eyes for the longest times until Shadow was called back to work.

"Hey.. Shadow, can we.." Shadow raised his hand to tell me to stop.

"Yes, now I need to go Blue." He smiled at me. I smiled back then realized. Silver! Crap, he was still waiting for me. I walked as quickly as I could to Silver.

"What took you so long?" Silver had to be at least be halfway done with his food when I was back.

"U-um.. I just..." He just smiled.

"Just what? Did something happen between you and Shadow?" I felt my face warm up even more then it was.
"Shadow and I might be dating now.." I gave a shy smile as he congratulated me. My heart now felt completed. The emptiness from dating others, I now felt completed. I sighed with happiness as we both ate our food.

We were close to being done, I waved down Shadow. "We can take the check Shadz." He just ruffled my hair.

"Don't worry about it. I covered it." Shadow smiled.

"You didn't need to do that Shadow, We would of gotten it." Silver gave a soft look as he spoke.

"Nah, I covered it. I already paid it." With a sigh, I gave up. Shadow just smiled as he won and walked away. I rolled my eyes, and turned back to Silver.

"He's always been difficult." I said with a light chuckle, Silver just smiled.

"Kind of like how Mephiles is"
"Come to think, They do look a lot alike. How old is he?"
"He'll be seventeen in a few months. And Shadow is eighteen right?" I nodded to his question. I was only seventeen and in eleventh grade. While Shadow is eighteen and in the twelfth grade.

We walked out and got into Silver's car. Just thinking of how similar Mephiles and Shadow were. "Shadow doesn't have any siblings, I think, He's a foster kid. He lives not to far from me." I looked at Silver as we pulled out of the parking lot.

"Mephiles never really talks about his past. He just says that the past doesn't matter anymore." Silver watched the road, just sound curious.
"Hm.. I never really asked Shadow about anything like that. I didn't want to be rude." I sighed. Now I was really curious about Shadow's past. And of Mephiles' past. "I'm sorry to ask this, but what's wrong with Mephiles' mouth? I'm just curious." Silver sighed a tad and gave a quick look at me.

"He had that since he was born. Doctors tried to sew and mend it back together but it just keeps falling apart again. So he wears mask to cover it, so people won't make fun of him. Right now, he has it sewed together. It's basically like he has a larger mouth, I don't care really, but he just keeps it covered so people don't laugh at him." Silver sighed but then smiled. I just smiled back.

"Alright, that's good to know. I just wanted to know more about him." I smiled and looked out the window.

"How did Shadow get those scars?" I froze at the question and tensed up. "Are you alright Sonic?"

"Y-yeah.. Shadow just been in a lot of fights at his old schools.." I lied. I didn't want to tell Silver that he gets beaten by his foster parents. I took a deep breath and calmed down.

"..Okay. Well, we almost to your house. I guess I'll see you tomorrow at school." I nodded. Again, I felt every emotion towards Shadow and his foster parents. Sighing, I just wanted to go to bed.

We reached my house and I thanked Silver for the ride. My uncle Chuck greeted me as I walked in.

"How was your night Sonic?" He smiled. I gave a small smile back.
"It was good, I'm gonna head to bed, got school tomorrow." He nodded and went back to whatever he was doing. As I got to my room, changed, brushed my teeth, set my alarm clock, and went to bed. Hopefully, tomorrow was going to be fine.

(Shadow POV)

I woke up to everything being quiet. What time was it? It had to be close to school starting. Checking the time, it was 6 o'clock. Slowly, I got out of bed. I had to get ready. Taking a quick shower, and eating, I was still shocked it was quiet. Usually someone is up by now. I guess it was my lucky day.

I still remembered my kiss with Sonic. He was my first, and I felt happy for once in my life. Sighing, I just still couldn't believe that I got Sonic to love me. Smiling, I slowly cleaned the house, only barely hearing the others sleep. Maybe I won't get hit today, or really yelled at. Or until I get home from school. School was going to start soon, so I was off.
As I drove down the road toward the school, I saw Sonic walking. I pulled over to his side.
"Where's your brother Miles?" Sonic jumped a bit when he saw me then smiled.

"Oh, He went in early." I gave him a side smile.

"Want a ride?" He nodded and I shifted to get him some room. Sonic sat behind me and squeezed his arms around my waist. I smiled and drove off to school.
After we got into the parking lot, we walked side by side to school. I didn't know if to hold his hand or not. He might not want his friends to know yet. I'm happy either why, as long I am with him. I sighed a bit, causing Sonic to look at me. I just smiled and said I was fine. I was about to ask him something until he grabbed my hand and started to drag me away.

"Whats wrong?" I barely even caught a glimpse of Scourge standing against a wall, talking to some chick. He still looked pretty beaten up, even if he is a idiot, I still felt bad for beating him up.

We walked to a kind of empty hallway. I leaned against the wall as Sonic stood in front of me.

"Hey, how do you want your friends to find out about us?" He shrugged and rested his head against my chest. A slight smile formed across my face as he listened to my heart beat. I slowly stroked the top of his head as I started to think about him.

"Is it okay if I ask about your past Blue?.." He pulled off of me and leaned against the wall.

"Sure, go ahead." I sighed a tad.

"How come you live with your uncle?" I saw him shift at the question. Maybe I shouldn't have asked about his parents.

"Both of my parents died in an accident a few years back. Before I started high school. I only had my uncle left, so I moved and started at this school. I don't have anyone else left other my bro and uncle." I was shocked at how calm Sonic was talking about this.

"How about you?" I looked at the ceiling for while.

"My parents died when I was young. Then I was moved to my sister's house with our grandpa. A few years later they were killed, and I was fostered. Anything other then that I can't remember. I do get faint memories of my past but none of it really helps.." I only just realized that I can't remember any of my past.
"I'm sorry about that Shadow.." I shrugged it off.

"It's fine." I just smiled at him. I might have forced it, but Sonic didn't notice. School was about to start and I walked Sonic to his class. Hopefully today will still be good.
