The next morning, Luhan is sitting with his father for their breakfast. Everybody tries to have a seat on the same table with them and it really disturbs him. Luhan puts on his poker face and slices his sandwich as people joins their table one by one. It starts with a quiet breakfast but it turns into a noisy one.
Softly, Luhan clears his throat and glances at his father. His father looks so friendly and warm to them but Luhan has something to talk about with his father. He glances again and this time his father catches Luhan's glance. His father really knows him, even when he puts a poker face, his father knows that Luhan feels disturbed by the people.
"I'm so sorry everybody, but I need to talk with my son now, can I?" Luhan's father asks. His tone never changes, it's still a soft one.
"Of course, we will talk again later" One of them smiles to Luhan's father. After that, Luhan watches them one by one stand up from their seat with plate on their hand, leaving them alone.
"Ah, what a nice boss I have" Luhan talks and it followed by his father's chuckle.
"You look ugly when you put that poker face, what's up?" His father asks but Luhan just frowns at first. He can't believe that handsome, good-looking face, got an insult.
"Let's clear this first, I never look ugly, I always look handsome, that's the reality-----" Luhan pauses and smiles as he watches his father's duck face.
"---okay, second, let's get into the point, I want to ask, Lixian, I meet her, she works for us?" Luhan asks as he raises his brow.
"Yes, but wait, let me correct you ugly man, she works for me, not for us" His father smiles teasingly at Luhan as he keeps mentioning the ugly thing to him.
"Wh- what? Why did I never know? Why did you never tell me?" Luhan bulges his eyes, asking for explaination.
"Because you never ask" His father casually wriggles his brow, watching his confused son with a smile.
"So, all these years, you keep this for me?" Luhan fakes an upset expression.
"I still remember, you said you have no interest at her" His father starts teasing him and Luhan immediately startles. Of course, he remembers it too, but it wasn't like that. It was a shield he used that time. But not now.
October 2011, it was one month after his break up with Lixian, he started to feel lonely and empty. It wasn't like this a month ago, he felt free and happy that time, playing soccer with friends, playing video games until dawn without thinking about Lixian's message or call.
One day, he was playing a video game inside his room, feeling so empty and it really annoyed him. He kept erasing her face from his thought but it didn't work. He felt gloomy all of sudden, recalling every moment they had before. It was such a big regret for them to end up like this. He felt stupid for letting her go but he didn't want to admit it to anybody. He showed people he was alright without her, eventhough he wasn't.
A knock on the door made him turn his face and left his game. The reality of there was a person behind that door, easily gave him a feeling of there was a companion. He opened the door and there he saw a warm smile of his father. These days his father always checked him up, because his father knew, he experienced a break up.
"Han, you look ugly with that face, you think about Xian, right?" His father asked.
"No, I have no interest at her, so stop talking about her" He crossed his arms infront of his chest as smiled to his father, shieldeng the real feeling of him. All because he didn't want to look weak, even infront of his own father. Luhan had this principle of life: man shouldn't show his weakness, once man shows it, the world will look down at him.
