Altáriël couldn't fight against the pain anymore, and she went limp. The two dwarves carrying her shocked from her sudden lack of movement.
"Enelya, come here! Quick!" Thorin yelled. He did not panic in the most horrible situations, but this was beyond horror for him.Enelya fell to her knees next to her fainted friend. This wasn't the first time they were in this position, Altáriël was a reckless woman, and often got hurt in the process. The blonde grabbed one of her pouches on her belt, careful not to pick the one with poison. Thorin couldn't see her in pain and walked away. "Someone, cut open her shirt! Kíli come here!" The prince was offered a pocketknife and carefully cut Altáriël's top open to her breasts. Enelya was mixing different herbs and ointments together. The goblin king had made the wound using a rusty sword, she would need all the help Enelya could offer her to survive, if it wasn't already too late. Enelya applied her medicine and Altáriël woke up with a scream. In the distance they could already hear the cry from a warg. The goblin that had to inform the orcs had succeeded. The first wargs had heard Altáriël's cry of pain. Oin, the original healer of the company began to help Enelya wrapping a bandage around the wounded girl's mid. The dwarf helped her up.
Thorin and Gandalf were arguing about their Burglar again. "I'll tell you what happened. Master Baggins saw his chance and he took it! He's thought of nothing but his soft bed and his warm hearth since first he stepped out of his door! We will not be seeing our Hobbit again. He is long gone." Altáriël and Balin looked at each other, a look of annoyance crossing both faces, they both knew about Thorin's problem with preconceptions. Bilbo then appeared from behind a tree; "No, he isn't." The company began to say how glad they were he was back, and questioned him how the burglar got past the goblins. Gandalf saw Bilbo put the Ring in his pocket, and decided to play him off. "Well, what does it matter? He's back!" But Thorin wouldn't let the hobbit get away so easily and questioned him again. "It matters! I want to know: why did you come back?"Altáriël was about to stand up for the hobbit, but he himself beat her to it. "Look,I know you doubt me, I know you always have. And you're right, I often think of Bag End. I miss my books. And my armchair. And my garden. See, that's where I belong. That's home. And that's why I came back, cause you don't have one. A home. It wastaken from you. But I will help you take it back if I can." The wizard smiled at Bilbo's words.
The others thought were still thinking about what their hobbit said, when they heard the howling of several wargs. "Oh no, not again!" Altáriël said, making her way opposite of the howls. The rest of the company followed suit. The brownhaired girl made a new impression of her on the dwarves. She would never, ever, give up something she wanted, which was a safe place in this case. She was making her way down the hill, clutching her side while her once so beautiful blouse flattered around her in pieces. The first warg had reached the company,it jumped towards Bilbo, who ducked just in time. He quickly got out his sword, and when the warg attacked again, it impaled its own head on Bilbo's sword. Enelya pulled the shocked Bilbo along with her. The company reached an outcropping of land, they were trapped. "Up into the trees, all of you! Come on,climb! Bilbo, climb!" Altáriël made no effort climbing into the highest tree.Kíli and Bifur climbed after her. Looking down, Altáriël saw the hobbit looking for a good tree to climb. He was too short to reach any of the lowest branches! She climbed down again, holding out her bow for the hobbit to grasp. He took it, happy that the girl made such an effort to help him. She let Bilbo climb up first, and tried to climb higher as well, but her shirt, or what there was left of the fabric, got stuck on a branch. This time Bifur came to her rescue, in his fear of the wargs that were closing in, he teared up her shirt even more. Giving her an apologizing look he climbed back again. This time Altáriël could go on as well. Just in time before the wargs tried to bite in her legs. She caught Kíli staring at her now almost bare chest, and blushed. They were on the same branch when Kíli grabbed one of his spare blouses out of his satchel. The woman had once again forgotten to bring any of her spare clothes. She gladly accepted the offer, and went to put it on immediately. As soon as she had lifted her arms above her head, she lost her balance, but two warm hands grabbed her sides. Kíli had caught her. Her face got if possible even redder, pulling on the blouse more careful now. It was a dark blue with a golden pattern. It smelled exactly like he did when they had slept in each other's arms in Rivendell, like pinecones and new leather. She forgot that they were in grave danger. But she got lost in his eyes, as he lost himself in hers. He was about to lean in to kiss her, when the tree shook violently. Their heads bumped against each other, and they looked down. There were wargs everywhere.
Altáriël hadn't even noticed the Pale Orc until now. Her eyes widened again and she got out her bow. She shot three wargs before her arrows were gone. They must've fallen out of their shed when they fell down the goblin cave.
"Sho gad adol!" Azog yelled. [Drinktheir blood!] Enelya was sitting in the tree closest to the wargs. The tree she sat in with Bofur and Bombur toppled over first. They jumped into the next tree, and onto the next. When all trees but the one on the edge of the cliff had fallen, the last two dwarves jumped onto the last standing tree. It was making ominous noises. Out of desperation Gandalf set a pinecone on fire, repeating the action and begins to hand the new made threats to the others. The dwarves threw the pinecones to the wargs, who retreated from the raging fire. The company cheers in victory, but the cries of victory soon turn into cries offear when the roots of the tree are starting to give in. It stops falling at a dangerous angle. And Ori and Dori fall, but were saved by Gandalf. Now occupied, the wizard wasn't able to make a next move. So Enelya came in action, grabbing some of the most dangerous pouches she carried in a box of lead. Fluorine. Highlyflammable, and very toxic. It was a tiny ball filled with the gas. And she threw it towards the flames. It exploded, releasing the toxic. But most of the wargs were too far away from the fire. And she only killed a few. Azog laughed at the captured panicking dwarves. And Thorin rose from his place in the tree. Walking over the trunk, sword drawn, he was approaching Azog. He tried to swing his sword at the white warg. But he was hit in the chest by his target's front paw. The company looked in shock. Not knowing what to do, Altáriël got up to help the dwarf she considered her father. Enelya held back her friend. She was wounded and could not fight without opening her wound again. Instead it was the hobbit who came to their leaders rescue. Thorin was picked up by the white warg, who held its prey in his mouth. The dwarf managed his attacker on the head with his sword. The warg roared and threw Thorin several feet away onto a big rock nearby. One of the orc scum went to chop of Thorin's head, but Altáriël didn't want that to happen. She got herself free from her friend's iron grip, and ran to her King's rescue together with some other dwarves who managed to get up. Bilbo got there first, knocking the Orc away from Thorin the moment he wanted to bring his sword down. the girl grabbed her axe and swung it at the first warg that came running towards her. She killed it easily, running towards her father figure to see if he was okay. She barely dodged an arrow, the move she had to make to dodge it was enough to rip the cut open again. Reliving the pain again was this time enough for her to faint right away. Falling next to Thorin, she woke immediately, not allowing her body to rest. She got up again, only to see that the eagles had come. She and Thorin were the last ones in danger. She stepped aside to let an eagle grab the unconscious Thorin. And when an orc charged at her again, she did two steps back, and let herself fall of the edge of the cliff. Turning mid-air to land on an eagle.
They flew on the backs of the eagles over many different landscapes. After havingchecked her wound, and attached her bandage a little tighter, she leaned backon the eagle. Spreading her arms and allowing herself to daydream after a long time. With a smile still on her face she noticed that her eagle was circling round to land. She got up and jumped of its back before the eagle landed. Sparing the bird the effort. Landing on her feet she rushed to check up on Thorin again. "Thorin! Thorin!" Gandalf called, getting no respond. He got down on his knees and placed his hand on Thorin's face, whispering a spell to wake him up again. When Thorin opened his eyes Altáriël rushed to his side. Enelya walked up behind her, putting her hands on Altá's shoulders. The older girl grabbedThorin's hand and held it to her chest in relief. "The Halfling?" The leader asked weakly. The wizard answered, saying that Bilbo was safe. Altáriël and Enelya helped Thorin up. He placed his hands on a shoulder of each girl as a token of gratitude, and spoke up, all traces of weakness gone. "You! What were you doing? You nearly got yourself killed! Did I not say that you would be a burden? That you would not survive in the wild and that you had no place amongst us?" Bilbo looked worried, and became frightened when Thorin came closer. "I've never been so wrong in all my life!" He said unexpectedly and hugged his hobbit. "I am sorry I doubted you." Bilbo was moved by Thorin's words."No, I would have doubted me too. I'm not a hero or a warrior... not even a burglar." This made the company laugh. Enelya pointed at something behind Bilbo. And everyone turned to look. "Is that what I think it is?" The hobbit asked. "Erebor-The Lonely Mountain. The last of the great dwarf kingdoms of Middle-Earth." Altáriël said. "Our home" Thorin continued as a bird flew by. "A raven! The birds are returning to the mountain!" Oin said as they heard more birds. "That, my dear Oin, is a trush." The wizard said with a smile. Enelya laughed and poked Altáriël, knowing the girl's love for the mountain. "But we'll takeit as a sign- a good omen." She said, walking to the edge of the rock. Kíli looked at her, smiling at the almost kiss, and the girl's love for dangerous places. "You're right Altáriël. I do believe the worst is behind us." The hobbit spoke last, before they began walking again. There was a new hope, now they had seen their final destination. There was hope that they would indeed make it before the last light on Durin's day had shone.I do not own the Hobbit, I only own my own two characters Enelya and Altáriël. If you see any mistakes please tell me. Also if you have any tips for me, I'd be happy to hear.
