Chapter 11

(Hori's POV)

Was this a nightmare? There's no way, it can't be happening, the train exploded with both Matsui and Nakamura in it, and to think I am already so close with Nakamura, " Do you think there-" I spoke as I choked on my words, I didn't want it to be real, " No Okamoto, there's no way that they-" Ueno replied, it looked like he choked on his own words as well, it looked like we were all lost for words, all shaken up as we looked at the destruction before us, " Well why are we waiting?! We need to find them; they have their powers, so they have to be alive!" Yamazaki yelled as she jumped off the station car and ran to the burning train, " Yamazaki, wait!" Shimizu called out as we all jumped off the station and ran over to Yamazaki, "They got to be there, they have to be," Yamazaki said as she got closer to the fire as we shielded our eyes, " Yamazaki, there's no way they're in there don't get any ideas!" Shimizu said with a worried look spread across her face, " What else is there to do? I'm sorry, but I'm going in there to find them; you all can go around and try to find them that way" " And leave you by yourself?! I'm sorry, but as a group, we need to stick together!" Nishimura yelled at her, "Do you have any better ideas than Nishimura! We don't have that much time! And talking here is not an option!" It then went silent as Yamazaki and Nishimura glared at each other, " Hey, I'll go with her; I'm sure I can manage the heat; you three just find another way to find them" Nishimura was right, Yamazaki can't go in there on her own. I know Nishimura and Ueno can't deal with the fire because of their abilities; they gave me worried looks until they nodded in agreement as Yamazaki and I walked into the enormous blazing fire. " Matsui! Nakamura! Can you hear us?!" I called out as I shielded my eyes from the fire's heat, while Yamazaki was my guidance through it all, " If you can hear us say something-" I then got interrupted by Yamazaki with her putting her hand to cover my mouth to keep me from talking, " I hear some voices that aren't recognizable, do not make one sound" She whispered as I slowly nodded my head while I processed her words thoroughly, " We haven't found those two yet after the explosion, kind of weird how they can just disappear like that in front of our very eyes" " So you're saying you lost them?!" " I'm sorry, but it seems to be that way," me and Yamazaki looked at each other, obviously concerned. Could they mean Matsui and Nakamura? If that's the case, I'm not so sure how I feel, either they are safe or completely gone; I prayed for it to be the first option so very much, we then heard a loud sound nearby, it sounded as a tree had fallen close by, could that have been Nishimura's doing? " Go check what caused that racket; I'll walk over to the very front of the train to make sure they didn't go too far ahead already" Yamazaki and Me sighed in relief as we looked by to see them walking away, " Let's wait a little more, we have to be sure if there is any more of them," Yamazaki said in a hushed whisper as I nodded, " Sounds good, but hey.." Yamazaki then turned her head to me with a confused look, " Does that mean Matsui and Nakamura are well and alive?" She then gave me a look of sympathy, something I did not expect, " They have to be; I mean, they have their abilities after all, maybe...maybe Matsui just turned themselves invisible?" "Thank goodness you caught on," Yamazaki then squeaked in fright as she jumped into me as I widened my eyes from the sudden voice, " It's just as you guys we are ok, just don't speak too loud" " Matsui? Nakamura? Is that you?" I asked, looking around to see where they were. Matsui and Nakamura then appeared slowly in front of us, some bruises covered their faces and legs, and their expressions looked drained, " Oh, thank god!" I said as I got up and ran to hug Nakamura tightly, " Thank god for your safety; we thought we lost you two," I said, hugging Nakamura tightly, "Hey now, I'm ok really, we are both ok" Nakamura said as she looked up at me, " How did you two get out of the explosion?" Yamazaki asked in pure shock, " Well basically, it depends on how I want to be invisible, I can make myself still have my normal strength, or I can make myself completely untouchable, so thank goodness I got to Nakamura first before it happened, but I wasn't completely in time hinting the bruises we received " I then looked at Matsui in confusion as I let go of Nakamura, " Before it happened? What do you mean?" " The Passengers, they weren't citizens at all, we believe everything has been a set up for a reason, so Yamazaki's feelings were right" I looked at Matsui in fright; how can we be tricked so easily?! Not just me but everyone else ignored Yamazaki's instincts, we were that blind to the most obvious fact of all, and we ignored the one who had the right intentions; I then looked at Yamazaki with shocked eyes as her eyes turned stern, " So I was right then?! Damn it!" Yamazaki yelled in frustration as my eyes widened, and I looked around in fright by her shout, terrified if anyone heard her, " Yamazaki, let's leave now," I told her. She looked at me stressed yet nodded in agreement, " Yeah, we need to find the other three anyway," Yamazaki said clear frustration in her voice, " Yeah, you're right; hopefully, we can find them fast" I then held Nakamura close as we made our way through the fire with Matsui and Yamazaki. Still, but to our dismay, we heard rapid footsteps coming from behind us, " Oh crap, that is not good," I mentioned as I looked at the girls in concern, " No more walking; we need to run now," Yamazaki exclaimed as we all ran as fast as we could through the humid fire, " Don't let them get away! They must not proceed any further!" We then ran faster as we went through obstacles, soon we came close to a dead-end, " This isn't good! We need to figure something out fast!" Nakamura panicked, " Don't worry, I'll lead the way, just stay close!" Yamazaki claimed as we got closer to the dead-end only for it to vanish right in front of our very eyes suddenly, we all stopped in pure shock looking at the spot where the destruction was, " What just happened!? Where did the train go!?" Yamazaki exclaimed as we all looked around until my eyes stopped on Matsui; she was dusting herself off as dirt covered her clothes and skin, " Matsui? Did you trip?" I asked while I eyed her as she became flustered, " I may have tripped on some wreckage from the train" I continued to look at her only for my eyes to widen; was that whole train an illusion? Who has that kind of ability to make something so real? I then heard footsteps interrupting my thoughts as it got closer to us; the footsteps belonged to the same man that fought Yamazaki prior, " It's him again! Here let me take him out while you three escape!" Yamazaki called out as she then charged at him as we all looked after her, " Yamazaki, be careful! "she was about to strike him, but weeds and vines came out of the ground and trapped the man as Yamazaki stopped in her tracks, " What the hell?! Where did that come from?!" Yamazaki stepped back a bit. I then heard footsteps coming out of the forest, revealing Nishimura, Ueno, and Shimizu, " Are you guys ok?!" Shimizu ran up to us to see if we were ok; I even came to notice that she had been healed thoroughly " Yeah, we all are ok, I'm glad to see you are ok and recovered!" " It's all thanks to Nishimura; also, if it weren't for him, the hostage probably would've hurt you" that's when it clicked inside my brain; I turned my head to see the trapped hostage; it was Nishimura who trapped the man! As Nishimura trapped the man, we got surrounded by many warriors, we may not see them, but we could feel them, surrounding all of us, hidden in the forest. " Everyone, keep your guard up," Yamazaki said to all of us, then the man started to laugh as if he was slowly turning into a feral animal, " What's so funny!?" I exclaimed, " Don't you see? How the world works?! You kids are digging your own grave, and no one will ever know you existed!" The man laughed historically, " You are a sick man!" Shimizu exclaimed, " Sick? oh no, not that at all. I'm Insane! You're making it sound like there's a cure!" He laughed more "Let's show these kids their place!" He yelled, and one by one, a warrior came out and circled all of us, as there was nowhere to escape. My hands were sweating as I gripped my sword and shield tightly, as each of my partners did the same thing with their weapons; this was our very first battle.
