Elizabeth and Aria piled into Elizabeth's black Jeep, honking the horn occasionally in frustration at drivers who drove too slow. Out of all nights, tonight had to be the night where traffic was the absolute worst. Eventually, the two got to the diner, although they arrived 15 minutes later than they had expected to. When they pulled into the parking lot, parking in the closest non-handicapped parking space, Elizabeth stared into the diner through the glass windows that made up most of the outside. If Elizabeth ever had a diner, which would probably never happen, she would have very few windows. How rude was it, to have people be able to see right inside while people were trying to eat. Upon looking into the diner, she noticed a bloody handprint on the window. A small gasp left Elizabeth as she froze, her eyes widening slightly. No, she thought. This wasn't supposed to happen.

Elizabeth swallowed, nearly falling out of the car as she attempted to get out and put her bag over her shoulder, slamming the car door behind her. If she'd slammed it any harder, the car door might just have come off. "Wait for me!" Aria yelled at the blonde, undoing her seat belt and exiting the vehicle, running after Elizabeth. Elizabeth ran up to the glass doors that served as the entrance. She tried pulling the door open, but it resisted. The door was locked. "Carmen must have stolen the key from someone and locked everyone inside so nobody could get out." Elizabeth said, attempting to open the door open. "Move away." Aria said, lightly pushing Elizabeth behind her. Aria took a step back before she kicked the glass, the glass breaking upon the rough contact with her foot. It shattered to the pavement, granting them entry. "Come on." She mumbled, walking inside.

When they entered, they were faced with a gruesome, grisly sight. The beige tile floor that normally shined was covered in pools of blood, one could slip and fall if they hadn't been extremely careful. Next to the pools of blood were dozens of bodies, dead ones at that. Elizabeth gasped, finding it hard to take in the sight. Aria raised a brow. Elizabeth was a vampire, a creature of death. Why was she so shocked by the sight of dead bodies? She certainly was no stranger to them. Aria stepped over the bodies and pools of blood, making her way to the kitchen. In the corner of the kitchen was Carmen, vigorously and mercilessly feeding on the head chef of the restaurant. Elizabeth followed Aria into the kitchen. Carmen continued feeding as the two stared. Carmen either didn't notice their entrance or she didn't care.

Aria's fangs emerged from her gums, her chocolate brown orbs darkening to an almost black color. A loud growl was elicited from her as Aria lunged at Carmen, forcefully pushing the now deceased chef away from her, pushing Carmen against the wall, gripping her by the throat. "Remember me?" Aria asked. Carmen didn't respond. Aria laughed softly. "I bet you do." Aria released her grip and kicked her in the face roughly, causing her to fall to the floor. The hit didn't do much damage. Carmen got up and pushed Aria against the wall, her mouth seeming to be aiming for her neck. "Not today, princess." Aria plunged her hand into Carmen's stomach, causing Carmen to hunch over in pain. "That hurt? Good." She pulled her hand out and pushed her to the floor, Carmen hitting her head hard against the tile on the way down. Carmen used her superhuman speed to get up and grab a butcher knife from the counter that the chef had been using to chop up ingredients for a dish meant for a customer. Holding the knife by the handle, Carmen threw the knife at Aria. The knife stabbed Aria in the chest, narrowly missing her heart. Aria grabbed the knife by the handle and groaned in pain as she slowly pulled it out, blood flowing from the wound and soaking her shirt. She dropped the knife to the ground and yelled at Elizabeth. "A little help, please?!"

Elizabeth unzipped her bag and pulled out the same knife that she had used to cut Tate's hand for the locator spell. She stared at it before she aimed for Carmen's head, throwing the knife. The knife entered Carmen's skull and definitely hit her brain. She should have fallen to the floor and died, but she kept on standing. Aria's eyes widened in surprise and shock. That would have been plenty to bring any vampire down. Aria growled before she tacked Aria, knocking her to the ground. Aria forcefully pulled the knife out of Carmen's head and brought the knife down into her head again in a big stabbing motion. Carmen still wasn't dying. "Die!" She yelled, repeatedly stabbing Carmen. Elizabeth watched, her eyes filling up with tears. Her eyes flickered to the bloody knife on the floor that Carmen had thrown at Aria. She knew what she had do to stop Carmen once and for all. Elizabeth picked up the butcher knife and aimed the blade towards her chest, the tip pointing to her heart. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before she plunged the knife into her chest, the sharp blade penetrating her heart. A loud groan of pain escaped the blonde. As Elizabeth fell to her knees, her skin became discolored, turning a light grey color. She took her last breath before she fell to the ground, the knife still in her heart. As Elizabeth's heart beat one last time, Carmen's heart did too, her body losing all signs of life. Once Aria was sure that Carmen was finally dead for sure, she pushed herself from off the ground.

She picked up a clean towel from the nearby counter and wiped Carmen's blood off of her hands and the little bit she had gotten on her face. She then turned to Elizabeth's body, which was laying not too far away. A soft sigh left Aria. Whether she wanted to admit it or not, it broke her heart to see Elizabeth like this -- dead. At one point, she really did care for Elizabeth. In fact, she still did. Aria got on her knees and reached into Elizabeth's pocket, pulling out her car keys. She stood up and exited through the broken glass door, unlocking the car and getting inside. Once she had gotten inside, she inserted the key into the ignition, starting the car. Before she started to back out of the driveway, she looked at the rear view mirror, staring at her reflection. Aria sighed. "Goodbye, Elizabeth." She whispered to herself. Just as she left, she heard police sirens coming from not very far away. They had to have been going to the restaurant.

This wasn't right -- driving her now dead ex best friend's car. And she knew it. She could have easily just called herself a taxi and went on her way. But she didn't. The car was silent the entire ride home. When Aria walked through the front door, she caught a glimpse of herself in the full length mirror she had near the front door that she often used to make sure her outfits looked okay whenever she went out. God, she really did look terrible. Her white tank top was covered in her own blood from when Carmen had thrown the knife at her. Might as well just throw this away, she thought. Blood was never going to come out of that no matter how much she washed or bleached it. Upon hearing the front door open and close, Tate walked out of Aria's bedroom with a gigantic smile painted on his masculine features. The smile faded once he saw the state Aria was in. "Babe, are you alright?" He asked in concern for her, looking her over. "Is this your blood?" He pointed out the bloody shirt and the small amount on her face. "Some of it is. But I'm fine, I promise." Aria smiled sweetly at him, attempting to assure him that she was okay. On the outside, she was fine. The inside was another story. Losing Elizabeth did hurt. If she said it didn't, then she would be lying. Aria's gaze flickered to the bandage that was still securely sticking to his skin. "Carmen's dead. So is Elizabeth. Did your bite heal?" Tate frowned. "I'm sorry about Elizabeth. Are you okay?" He asked, while slowly peeling the bandage off to reveal that the bite had completely healed, not a drop of blood in sight. Aria sighed softly. "No, I'm not. But I will be." Aria tried her best to smile at him.

Tate brought Aria into his embrace, wrapping his arms around her small frame. Aria laid her head on his chest, closing her eyes. Her eyes filled with tears and no matter how much she tried to stop it, the tears began to stream down her cheeks. She tried to hide the fact that she was crying from Tate, but it was no use. He knew. He hugged her tighter. Tate was the only one who Aria could truly be herself around, to show true emotion. Aria didn't like to cry in front of people. She believed that it depicted her to be weak. Aria and Tate knew each other better than anyone and they helped each other become better people. That was part of why they worked so well together and had been together for so long, despite their struggles.
