The only sounds that could be heard were Carmen's footsteps against the gravel. The sky was pitch black and the moon shone bright through the trees, casting eerie shadows on the ground. Carmen could see her breath in the air as she inhaled and exhaled. Carmen was in a state of complete and utter confusion. She didn't know where this place was. She didn't know what this place was. It was unfamiliar, and to be quite honest, she found it to be creepy, which was odd considering that very little scared the brunette. Occasionally, she would see a person or two as she walked through the empty streets, but they paid little to no attention to her. The temperature was freezing, and her bones felt fragile. She felt fragile, as if she would break if somebody hugged her or even laid a finger on her. She felt weak, powerless. Most of all, she was petrified.
The last thing that she remembered was the intense pain of Aria repeatedly stabbing her in the head. However, she refused to die, until Elizabeth stabbed herself in the heart, which Carmen was unaware of. In her time as a demon, it was like she was there, but at the same time, she wasn't. She was there mentally, but she had absolutely no control over her actions or what she said. When she first broke into that diner and started to eat everyone inside, attacking the customers who tried to run away and escape from her wrath, Carmen knew deep down inside that this was wrong. She knew that she shouldn't have been doing that. She was murdering innocent people. However, it was like she had no control. She could have told herself to stop as much as she wanted to, but nothing would stop her from killing. Carmen knew that she was dead, but she had no idea where she was. Carmen was never one to follow a religion. She was agnostic, so when she thought about what would happen to her after she died, she didn't really know what would happen. Would she go to Heaven, if there was one? Would she go to Hell? Was this her Hell? Or somewhere else entirely? Perhaps this was a purgatory, where she was doomed to spend the rest of eternity in order to pay for the sins she'd committed. She had to admit, if this was a purgatory, it was where she deserved to be.
"Where am I?" She asked the stranger that stood at the street corner under a street light that buzzed obnoxiously loud. The stranger chuckled. "You're serious, right?" He folded his arms over his chest, looking Carmen up and down. Carmen's lips parted, not saying a word. The stranger cocked his head to the side. "You really don't know." Carmen shook her head. She really didn't. "This is where supernatural creatures go when they die. Think of it as an alternate universe." He said.
"How did you get here?"
"I was a witch. I was trying to bring my buddy back to life, and I overloaded myself with magic. My heart just stopped. How about you?"
"I.. It's a bit of a blur, to tell you the honest truth. My friend, she turned me into something. All I wanted to do was eat people, I had no control over what I was doing."
"So, you were a vampire?"
"No. I mean, yes. I used to be. I died, but then I got brought back as something else."
"A demon?"
"Yeah. I think so."
"I used to know someone who was a demon. He went off to Montana though after he died. In this place, you can go wherever you want."
"How do we get out of here?"
"You can't. I've tried. No Bueno."
"There has to be a way."
"There is. But I'm unable to do it."
"Maybe I can."
"No, you can't. You need a special stone to do it. I can't find it."
"Describe the stone to me. Maybe I know it."
"Doubtful."
"Describe the stone."
