Chapter 18

Riley's P.O.V.

"Look, mummy's waking up." A distant voice said. It was familiar but I couldn't place it. Suddenly, a pair of hands were on my face and my eyes fluttered open. Lily was leaning over me, a smile on her face, Liam's face was in the background. "Good morning love."

"How long have I been sleeping?" Seeing the afternoon sun through the window in Dante's room.

"About 16 hours. You can sleep, that's for sure." He smiled and kissed me before picking up Lily.

"Well, you try pushing a human being out of your body, lets see how tired it makes you."

"I know, I was only kidding. Do you want something to eat?"

"Can you look at my eyes? Can you see any red?" His face got closer to mine.

"Umm.. a little bit, 'round the outside. It looks like it's growing. What does that mean?"

"It means I need to feed, and not human food." I smiled showing my fangs. His smile turned into fear and he gulped.

"Not from you, that would change you if done right. You're my mate so to me, your blood is like a drug. iIf I started, I wouldn't be able to stop. Are we surrounded by forest here?" He still looked terrified.

"I think so."

"Come on scaredy cat." I took Lily from him before he dropped her, grabbed his hand and made for the kitchen.

"Well, look who's finally awake. What did you do, drug her?" Ali hugged me and made a weird face at Lily to get her to laugh. In my opinion her face always looked weird but I wasn't going to tell her that.

"No, I did not drug her. Lily took it all out of her."

"Riley you look like you need to feed. There are a ton of animals aorund here, very filling. One of us can take Lily." Brianna's eyes told me that on the inside she was saying 'gimme gimme gimme.' about Lily.

"Yeah sure. I'll go by myself and be back in a few." Handing Lily to Brianna and Kyla, I started to walk towards the front door. Before I even made it halfway, Liam was calling my name and rushing towards me.

"Do you think I could tag along. I just want to see what you can do."

"If you think you can handle it, sure." Smiling, he stepped closer to me. He was at least a head taller than me, I had to tilt my neck back so far I was sure I would fall over. I felt his hands slide up and rest on my hips as he pulled me closer. There was litterally no space between our bodies, I dont think we could get any closer, not unless we were morphed into one body.

His warm eyes bore into mine. I slowly got on my tip toes as he leaned down. Our faces were inches apart, my breath coming in short gasps when his lips found mine. The only thing that could describe that kiss was fireworks. They seemed to go off every where in my mind. Before I could get into the kiss anymore he broke away.

"We should get going, the red is taking over your eyes. But I must say, it's a good look for you." Smacking his chest, I pulled him in for one more kiss and then took off out the door.

One the outside, Dante's castle looked beautiful. The light from the windows shone brightly through the trees, illuminating a path for us. But the caslte itself was huge. Several stories high, it loomed over us looking intimidating, scary, but beautiful.

"Riley! Wait up, I cant run that fast!"

"I know!" I ran up a small hill and stood, not even breathing hard, waiting for Liam to catch up. By the time he reached me, he was breathing so hard, I swear he would have blown me away. Putting his hands on his knees, he tried to regain his normal heartbeat.
