Chapter 15

Riley's P.O.V  (5 months later)

  The thing about vampire pregnancies, is they dont last as long as human pregnancies due to the fact that vampire children mature much faster. When the creature inside you is almost fully developed and half as strong as you are, the pain from it's kicking and moving is extreme. Every single time my baby moved, I felt it, trust me!

 "You know Kyla, I never thought my first child would be born in a castle let alone be Dante's child. Every second I spent with Liam, I pictured this moment. Both of us in a seperate room, away from stress and noise, him holding my hand, kissing my forehead, and telling me to just breathe. I'd feel bad for sqeezing his hand so hard but I'd know he could take it becasue he'd be a vampire too. I'd push, then feel a sort of release of pressure and Liam would kiss me with tears of joy running down his face. Then a little bundle would be placed in my arms and we'd live happily ever after with our bundle of joy. I know, sappy, but I really did think about how our lives would be."

 "I know, I've thought of the same things. But, at least Dante let us out of that god awful dungeon. And we're together and thats all that matters." It was true, after Dante saw how far along I was, he let us stay in actual rooms in the castle. He became gentler, more sincere knowing that I was carrying his child, no more beatings, rapings, none of it. Actually, you could say his fatherly instincts came over him becuase he brought me whatever I needed, always felt my stomach, would talk to it before bed. I know what you're thinking, 'how could a brute like Dante be kind and gentle' My answer would be, a gentle giant. He even sent for a doctor, that coincidently was a vampire, to monitor my condition and make sure myself and the baby were healthy.

 "How are you feeling?" Dante walked in with some soup.

 "Fine, they're still about 12 minutes apart." The contractions started about an hour ago but they came on strong, like really strong.

 "OK, just tell me when I need to get the doctor, ok?" He stood next to the bed with his hands just inches from mine.

 "I will Dante! Stop your worrying would ya? I'm fine." I covered his hand with my own and gave it a reassuring squeeze. Looking up at me, he smiled and kissed my forehead before leaving.

 The first couple weeks with Dante were horrible, he kept us in the dungeon, only let us out with supervision to feed, repeatedly beat Kyla but it kind of mellowed out. I missed LIam like hell those first weeks, I had such high hopes that they would find me and I would be out of this place before the baby was born. But my faith left me after 2 months with not so much as a sign that they were looking for us. The longer Kyla and I were away from Niall and Liam, the thinner the bonds between us got and the more Dante and I grew closer.

 "Should be sometime soon! I'm excited to be an aunt!"

 "It's exciting, but I'm scared. Have you ever heard of a vampire giving birth to a pure blood vampire before? 'Cause I sure havent. What if something goes wrong? What if the baby dies or I die?" I said quickly in one breath.

 "Riley, nothing is going to go wrong! You're in capable hands. Dante wont let anything happen to you or that baby." Suddenly, we heard shouts from somewhere in the castle and then came the thuds and stuff breaking. I started to get worried.

 "Riley, do not start stressing. Dante is probably just fighting with one of his goons about you or some stupid shit like that. Breathe, focus on right here, dont focus on that, the more you stress about that the more stress you're putting on your baby. You dont want that."  Kyla tried to calm me but the shouts and crashing got louder and louder untill I swore it was right outside the door.

 "Where is she?!!" I heard a familiar voice.

 "You'll never find her or the sister. They are someplace you will never ge to." Then came a scream, almost like a battle cry. The door was blown off its hinges as a giant bowling ball of bodies fell to the ground. Dante was on the bottom of the heap, fighting for his life. I saw a familiar mop of curly brown hair, that oh so blonde quiff, and a not so familiar head of quiffed brown hair.
