Food Pals (Akame x Male Reader)

  "Is this alright?" I asked as I showed my edible creation to the red-eyed assassin. She carefully picked a piece of the meal, and started munching on it, all the while staring at me.

"It needs more flavor." She replied with the same stoic expression.

Ever since I'd been accepted into Night Raid, I've been forced to cook all day and night with Akame. It's not like that's exactly a bad thing...it's just that she's quite......emotionless at times. When I first joined, Tatsumi, who had been a member for a few months prior to my arrival, warned me about her common demeanor. As did everyone else.

"WOOOOOO!!! DINNER'S FINALLY READY!!!!" Leone started shouting, as Akame and I entered the room, several platters of different meals resting on our palms. After several munch-filled minutes, everyone had already finished their meals, which we spent several hours trying to make. After having watched everyone else wolf down their meal, my stomach started to rumble due to hunger. Akame, noticing this, suddenly dragged me into the kitchen.

"W-what's wrong?" I asked, a little alarmed by her sudden action.

"You're hungry. We have to make you something to eat, as well." She replied coolly.

"W-well....you don't hav-"

"Done." She somehow whipped up a small meal of leftover meats and vegetables from making dinner. She then shoved the plate into my arms, and told me to dig in.

Oddly, Akame sat by me while I ate the food, though she hadn't breathed a word since I took it. After I finished the meal, I broke the ice.

"So...thanks for the meal! It was delicious!" I beamed, and she, again, stared on impassively.

"You're welcome." She actually smiled at me. Her. Smiling!

"S-so, does this make us food pals, or something?" I asked, a stupid blush and grin stuck on my face. Why did I say that?!?!

"Yeah, I guess it does. As long as we continue making the meals together..." Her face grew a few shades of red as she finished the sentence.

I guess Akame isn't as heartless as she was made out to be.
