Chapter 7|
Cali~
I know y'all thinking what happened with me and why Im acting crazy again, but the media always talking about them. About how perfect they are and it's nerve wrecking.
"So, do you really still love that girl?" I asked my cousin David.
He nodded and poured more syrup on his pancakes. "I miss her. I love her."
I chuckled. "You love her? Idiot, she's moved on without you! Why still love her when she loves someone else?"
"She still loves me! Ask her yourself, Cali!"
"Maybe, I will." I said and got the attention of our waitress. "We'll take the check,"
She nodded. "I'll be right back with it!"
~
We walked our of Denny's and to the car. I instantly noticed that no one was inside of the car. I ran to the car, opened it, and looked around. She wasn't there.
"Fuck.. Fuck." I mumbled and then looked up at guilty looking David. "You untied her! Why would you do this? If we don't find her, you do realize we could get sent to jail? Ugh, you dumb ass."
"She promised.."
"She promised, huh? We apparently she didn't keep her promise!" I said and sighed. "Get in the car, we've got to find her, and quick."
Tykia~
"The address is, uh.." I looked at the young woman.
"2333 Pineapple W. Gladys." She said.
"2333 Pineapple W. Gladys. Babe, please come quick.. Where are you?"
"I'm on my way, babe. Stay where you are." Zay said.
"Okay, I love you. Bye, bae." I said and hung up.
I handed the girl her phone and plopped down on the couch next to me. "So, what's you name?"
"Tykia, and you?" I asked.
"Quesha."
I nodded. "Thanks. Thanks a lot. I would've probably been dead somewhere without you."
She smiled. "No problem. So, what really happened?"
I sighed and explained to her everything that happened. I released all my feelings and by the time I was done telling the story, I was in tears.
"You okay?" She asked.
"I'm cool. Just got a little emotionally," I said and then I heard a knock on the door.
Quesha walked to the door and looked through the peephole. "Who is it?"
"The, um, police. We need to, um, search your home."
They sounded pretty fishy if you ask me. I walked to the door and looked in the peephole. There stood Cali and David.
"Don't answer them." I whispered.
"Why? Is that them?" She whispered back.
I nodded.
"Police my ass. I ain't dumb. Take y'all asses home and get away from my house for I really call the police!"
Zay~
I dropped Zharia off at my mommas house and made my way to Houston. I was going as fast as I could.
According to my Gps, a drive from Chicago to Houston is 16 hours! That's a long ass time, so I contacted the police and told them everything that needed to know. They said they'd contact the Houston police officers and get them to make sure she was safe until I arrived.
Kia's mom was hysterical. She decided to ride with me and I agreed. It was her daughter.
"I hope she's okay. I really do." Ms. Collins said.
"She is. I just got off the phone with her. She's okay," I reassured her.
Her mama nodded and dozed off. I focused on driving cause I ain't have time to sleep.
Kia ~
When they were gone, Quesha and I relaxed. We began watching television together until another knock on the door startled us.
"We're looking for Tykia Collins. She's going to be coming with us to the police station."
I looked put the peephole and saw that they real police officers. I opened the door.
"Hello, I'm Tykia Collins." I said.
"Yeah, we need you to come with us. It's for your own safety."
I nodded, said bye to Quesha, and left. At least I knew Id be safe until Zay arrived.
