Alex: "Hey, why don't we go hiking today?" He asks when I come downstairs. Becca: "Yeah! That'll be fun.. Right?" I roll my eyes. Hiking was not something fun for me. Becca: "Oh c'mon Mels. Please?" Me: "What about the kiddos?" I said, looking over at the Bieber kids playing Wii. Becca: "Boys. Get up and get ready. We're going hiking!" They all groan but listen to their older sister. Me: "Ugh. Fineee." I slump my back and trudge upstairs. I slipped on my running shoes when I got back downstairs. Me: "Do I really have to come?" I whined. Becca placed her hands on her hips. Becca: "Yes, Mels. Unless you wanna stay here. Alone. With no one around.. In the big, empty hou-" Me: "OKAY!" She smirked. She knew I hated being home alone. Especially when it wasn't my home. She opened the door and escorted everyone out.

*JUSTIN'S POV*

I climbed up the steep mountail hill, Becca and Alex were trailing behind while the little Bieber boys were ahead. And hell, Melani was at the bottom, pretty much. I watched as she took her time hiking up, with her arms folded. Me: "Be right back, guys, I'm gonna go help Melani.." A grin pulled along their sweaty faces. I rolled my eyes and made my way down the hill. Melani: "Oh yaaaay, look who it is, The Douche himself.." I smirked and stuck out my hand. Me: "Need help?" She huffed, eyeing my hand with her blue eyes. Melani: "Not in a million, trillion, billion, babillion years." I looked down, shaking my head when something moving caught my eye near Melani's shoes. A snake. I smirked. Me: "Nice pet snake." Melani: "What?" She raised her eyebrow, clearly not understanding what I meant. Me: "Snake." I grinned, pointing down near her shoes. I never heard a girl scream so loud. She jumped into my arms and swung her legs around my waist, clinging onto me. Melani: "Why are you just standing here!? Get me away from that goddamn snake!" She said, her grip tightening. I smirked. Me: "Nah... It's friendly, see?" I took a step closer to the snake and she screamed in my ear. Me: "Damn Lani! You trying to make me deaf?!" Melani: "Get. Me. Away. From that snake. NOW." She demanded. I grinned. Me: "Kay." I swung her around so she was on my back, held onto her legs and took off running. She was screaming her face off; not helping with the hearing thing. Melani: "JUSTIN PUT ME DOWN!" I laughed. Me: "Fine. You want me to drop you while I'm running? Kay." I pretended to let go of her legs and she screamed even louder, her grip on me was almost choking me. Me: "I'm. Not. Gonna. Let. Go." I coughed. She loosened her grip and we caught up to the others. Alex: "Whoa. When did this happen?" He gestured towards the girl on my back. Me: "Nothing happened." I dropped Melani down and she glared up at me. Becca helped her up. Becca: "You're such a jackass, Justin." I shrug. Me: "And?" She rolled her eyes.

*MELANI'S POV*

I gotta admit, that was pretty fun. Until he dropped me on my butt. Becca: "You okay Mels?" I nod, dusting myself off. Me: "I was perfectly fine until the princess here decided he would "help me" but ended up scaring me half to death." Justin smirked. Justin: "Hey, admit it. You had fun on my back." He winked. Me: "Eww." I stood up and started making my way back to the cabin. --LATER A tear fell from my blue eyes onto the picture frame that held my Father. The sun was blinding me as it shown through the glass of the window, I gently rubbed my slender finger around the wooden frame. Justin: "Melani?" I quickly shoved the picture frame under my pillow and I visiously wiped away my tears. Me: "What?" I said grogily. Justin: "Are you crying?" Me: "Why do you.." I got up, hiding my face. "Care." I left the room, heading downstairs for a snack.

*JUSTIN'S POV*

Why do you care? Four words that sort of stung. I watched her blonde hair exit the room, I looked from left to right until I tiptoed over to her bed that was near the window. I dug under her pillow and pulled out a picture frame. Of a man. A middle aged man. Melani's Dad, I was guessing. But the weird thing was, it looked like Melly's dad. This was so creepy. This Melani was so like Melly, it was scary. I heard footsteps trudging upstairs and I quickly shoved the picture back under the pillow and jumped into my bed. Melani came in with a box of Sour Patch Kids. Yum. As she walked by, I reached my hand out to grab the box but she pulled away. Melani: "What the hell do you think you're doing?" Me: "Grabbing some of my favorite candy. Now gimme some." She pulled away again. Melani: "You touch these, I'll bite your hand off. They're mine." She growled. Becca: "She's not kidding!" She said when she passed by the door. My hand crept back to my side. Me: "How come I can't get some of my favorite candy?" Melani: "Go get your own." Me: "I don't know where they are." Melani: "Oh well." She glared at me and I pulled my famous puppy dog face. I saw her expression. Melani: "Alright, who told you I'm a sucker for puppy dog faces?" I grinned and snatched the SPK out of her hands. She grabbed them back. Melani: "I never said you can grab them." She dug her hand into the bag and pulled out a watermelon flavored one. Melani: "Here ya go." She threw it over to where I was sitting and I moved my head so I caught it in my mouth. She raised an eyebrow. Melani: "Hm. Looks like we found ourselves a dog. Fetch, boy." She threw another one and I caught it. This time she laughed. I haven't heard her laugh in.. Never? I smiled and her face grew serious. Melani: "What are you all smiley about?" Me: "Your laugh is cute." Did I just say that out loud? It just slipped through my lips. But, her cheeks turned to a light pink and she turned away. Melani: "Whatever." I chuckled. Me: "Blush." I mumbled. She shot me a glare. Melani: "Am not." I took out my phone and took a picture of her. She looked all mad; and it was a funny picture. Me: "Are too. I think Ryan and Chaz would LOVE to see this." I grinned and showed her the picture. Melani: "Don't you dare send that. You better have a back up phone, 'cause I'm about to break that." I got up slowly and started walking backwards towards the door. Me: "You. Wouldn't." Melani: "I would. You better start running." I turned and quickly shut the door and ran downstairs. Me: "Becca help! Lani's gonna break my phone!" My eyes darted around, looking for a hiding place. Becca just sat there, laughing at me. Melani: "BEAVER!" She screamed from the top of the stairs. Me: "Gotta go." I ran out the door, looking for somewhere to run. The stables? No. Chicken coop. No. The forest! I ran to the waterfall and hid behind the rocks. I heard Melani screaming my name not too far away. Me: "Come find me!" I yelled. I sat down and stared at the picture. Her cheeks were a shade of pink, her icy blue orbs showing embarrassment. A twig snapped and I looked up. Uh oh. I stood up and tried to run but she was too fast. Melani: "Delete it Beaver!" Me: "Okay okay! There I deleted it!" She checked my phone and let my shirt go. Melani: "You better hope this doesn't happen again. Next time I won't go easy on you." She grumbled then started going back towards the cabin. What she didn't know was that my phone saved two copies of a picture; so I still had it. I smiled at it and followed her back to the cabin. Becca: "You get him, Mels?" She nodded, plopping down next to Becca on the couch. Melani: "It won't happen again, right Beaver?" I nod. Oh, but I was just getting started. Messing with Melani Summers was gonna make my summer hell better. I fake a smile and head upstairs, thinking of ways to get Melani.
