Chapter 34: Operation Win Melani's Heart Back

*JUSTIN'S POV*

I woke up extra early so I could ask Mary to make Melani's favorite breakfast. I sat at the table, fidgeting with my fingers while she cooked. Mary: "So, may I ask why you want me to cook this?" Me: "Well, um, the girls sorta made a plan... And I'm gonna win Melani back." She smiles. Mary: "Aww. I've never met a boy who was this sweet to Melani." Me: "Really? But she's so nice and pretty. Why wouldn't they be sweet to her?" She sighs. Mary: "Well, ever since her dad died, she's been different. She's more quiet, more alone. People just don't like her.." I sigh. Me: "Well it's a good thing she has me, right?" She smiles. Mary: "Yeah. I remember the way she always smiled when she was with you." Yes, Mary knew that I was JustyBear. Mary: "Well, it's ready. I'll just be in my room if you need anything." I nod and she goes upstairs. Okay. Operation "Win Melani's Heart" is now a go. I go upstairs and find Becca. The other girls left yesterday. Me: "Becca I'm nervous." Becca: "Oh don't be. As long as you don't yell at her and be the perfect gentleman, you'll be fine." I take a deep breath and nod. Becca: "Now go win your girlfriend back." She smiles. I go get changed into something nicer than my PJ's and get the first present that Becca made me buy. A white teddy bear that says "I love you" GAH. I slowly walk over to Melani's room and quietly enter. I knew she was asleep so I didn't bother knocking. As I guessed, she was asleep. I walk over to the side of the bed. Me: "Wakey wakey Melani." I whisper into her ear. She groans and turns to the other side. Melani: "Five more minutes..." Me: "Okay. But only five." She nods then goes back to sleep. Five minutes later I shake her gently again. Me: "Okay Melani.. Wake up." Melani: "Ehh... I don't wanna." She groans. Me: "Please?" She sighs. Melani: "Fine. I'm up. What's so important that I have to wake up this early? ON A SATURDAY?" She sits up and wipes her face. Melani: "Oh. It's you. What do you want?" Me: "To make it up to you." I say without hesitance. Melani: "And why excactly?" Me: "Because you deserve it. And I'm gonna make sure you have the best day of your life." She stares at me. Melani: "Are you drunk?" I chuckle. Me: "No. I don't drink." She gives me a weird look. Me: "Please. Just let me take you out today. I already asked your mom for permission." Melani: "Fine. But ONE mistake and I'm leaving." I nod. Melani: "Alright. I'll come." I smile and give her hug. Me: "Go get changed. I made breakfast." She stares at me. Me: "Fine. I asked your mom for a little help." She folds her arms. Me: "Fine. A lot of help." Melani: "Now THAT I believe." She gets up. Me: "Alright. I'll wait downstairs." She nods and I go downstairs. No one was down here. Becca promised to stay out of it until we get back. Melani: "Alright I'm rea- Whoa. Justin you made mom make all this?" I nod. Melani: "That's so sweet.." Me: "Well it's all for you. So go on and eat then we'll go out." I pull the chair out for her and she sits down. I sit across from her and fold my hands like an important person. Me: "So," I make a serious face. Me: "How is your life?" She looks at me and laughs. Melani: "Pretty shitty. I lost my best friend, my dad, everything." I wanted to tell her that she didn't lose her best friend, I'm right here. But Becca told me it's still too early. Me: "Well, you have me." I whisper. She looks up from her plate of.. Food, and whispers back "I know." We talk and talk until she finishes her breakfast. Me: "Alright, you ready?" She nods. Me: "Okay come on." I grab the keys to her lambo and take her hand. Me: "Get ready for the best day of your life." I smile. Me: "Bye Becca!" Becca: "Peace out lovers! Good luck Justin." I take Melani outside and over to the car. Melani: "Who said you can use my car?" Me: "Mary. Now, be a good girl and go in." I opened the door for her and she hops in. Melani: "So where are we going?" I smirk. Me: "It's a surprise." She pouts and folds her arms. Me: "Not gonna work." She rolls her eyes. Melani: "Fine." Me: "Oh you'll like it." Melani: "And how can you be so sure?" Me: "Because Becca told me what you like." Lie. I already knew what she liked. And I hoped she still liked them. Melani: "So we're out all day?" Me: "Yep." She sighs. Melani: "Can't I at least know one of the locations?" She pulls a puppy dog face when we stop at a light. Me: "Nope." Melani: "I'll kiss you." She smiles. Me: "Tempting.. But no." She rolls her eyes. Melani: "Fineeeee." Just The Way You Are comes on the radio and she perks up. Melani: "I love this song!" She starts singing along. Beautiful voice. I seriously need to set something up for her. The song ends and she's back to her pouty self. Me: "Kay we're almost here." Melani: "Yay! Where?" Me: "Just wait." She huffs. Melani: "Okay." I turn the corner. Me: "Alright. We're here. What do ya think?" She stares out the window and gasps. Melani: "The amusement park?" She grins. Me: "Yep. I never said all day was gonna be that romantic shit. I wanna have some fun too." I poke my tongue out at her. Melani: "Well let's go!" She squeals. Me: "Why are you so excited?" I ask while she pulls me along. Melani: "Well, um, I've never really been to an amusement park before.." What? Yeah she has.. Oh right. Amnesia. I always forget that! Me: "Well I think that's cute." She smiles. Melani: "Are you sure you wanna come here? You're not wearing your disguise." Me: "Positive." I was wearing a plaid button up shirt and jeans. No sunglasses, no hoodie. Melani: "Okay." She hooks her arm with mine and leans on my shoulder while we wait in line. I offered to cut in line but she disagreed. Melani: "I'm tired.." Me: "I know. I'm sorry for waking you up." She sighs. Melani: "It's alright." The line was taking forever until they opened another booth. Yes! Melani and I hurried to the front of that line and got our wristbands. Melani: "Well that took forever.." The minute we walked through the entrance she ran up to one of the game booths and jumped up and down while pointing at big stuffed tiger. Melani: "Justin! Justin! Can you get that for me?" Of course, I gave in to her puppy dog face. This game was a basketball one. Easy shit. I made the three shots on my first try. She squealed as the guy behind the counter gave her the tiger. She smiled big and hugged me tight. Me: "Oh.. Mels. Can't. Breath." She pulled back. Melani: "Sorry. I like tigers." Well, I found out something new. Her new favorite animal is a tiger. She smiled at me and took my hand and pulled me to that illusion house thing or whatever. I hated that. Everytime I went in, my nose turned red from all the bumping I did. She guided me through the endless halls of confusing turns, scary clowns, and weird noises. Surprisingly, I made it through the whole thing without getting hit on the nose. Melani: "Well that was fun wasn't it?" Me: "I guess.." I let her pull me to the next ride. It was those spinning tea cups. Oh god. This'll be interesting. I hated spinny things. Especially if they were tea cups. I nervously slid next to her. Melani: "What's wrong? Bieber can't take a little spinning?" She said while smirking. Me: "Course I can.." That thought changed when the ride got faster and more spinnier. [Bahaha. I dont even know if that's a word] I yelled, clutching my stomach. The ride finally ended and everything was spinning. I couldn't hold it in anymore. I ran to trash can and puked. It already smelled like shit before, what's the difference? Melani came and patted my back. After maybe 5 more minutes of puking, I was all puked out. Melani: "You okay? 'Cause we can go home now if you want.." Me: "Nah I'm good. What next?" She thought for a moment. Melani: "Faris wheel!" She squealed and pulled me to the line. It was a huge ride. I thought we would be in the clouds. We finally got in and I was having second thoughts.. She wasn't. Why the hell am I scared? I've been to amusement parks a whole bunch of times. Maybe 'cause I was always with friends. Now I was with the girl I love.. The ride slowly climbed it's way around to the top. It stopped when we were at the very tippy top. It was beautiful up here. I decided this was the perfect moment to kiss her. I leaned in slowly and so did she. I didn't go all the way but I didn't have to. She did the rest of the leaning. We sat there kissing passionately for a long time. She finally pulled back and I fell over into her lap from leaning too far. She laughed and played with my hair. Normally, I would be the one sitting up and fiddling with her hair, but I didn't mind. I liked laying on her lap. It was comfy. Very comfy. I stared into her beautiful eyes. Melani: "It's beautiful up here." Me: "I know.." There was silence between us as the wheel spun round and round. It finally ended and I felt sick. I didn't throw up this time though. We left this place at noon and I was taking her to the mall next. She could buy anything that she wanted. Me: "So, where we headin' first?" Melani: "Um.. Oh! Let's go to Build-A-Bear workshop before I forget." Me: "Forget what?" Melani: "My little cousin's birthday is coming up and she asked for a bear." I nod and follow her into the store. The place where I made JustyBear for her. We never got to make one together. I watch her pick out a bear and then stuff it. Then all the other stuff you do. While she picked out clothes for the bear, I decided to make one for her. JustyBear got ruined from the rain so it looked like crap. She needs a new one. I picked a bear with cotton candy colored fur. I go to the stuffing place. Worker: "Oh- Oh my gosh! You're him! You're Justin Bieber!" Me: "Um, yeah. Please don't make a big deal out of it." She nods and stuffs the bear. "Justin?" I turn around and see Molly. Oh great. Me: "Molly? What are you doing here?" Molly: "It's my little sister's birthday. What are YOU doing here?" Me: "I'm taking Melani out for the day. She wanted to come here." Molly: "But I thought we were going out." I roll my eyes. Me: "You already know that was fake. The plan is off." She just stares at me then leaves with her sister. Worker: "Here you go Mr. Bieber." Me: "Just call me Justin. Thanks." I smile and go to find clothes for it. Well I have no idea what I should put on it. Well she could just use JustyBear's shirt. I go pay for the bear and stuff and meet Melani out in front. Melani: "You ready?" She stares at the bear in my hands. Melani: "Who's that for?" Me: "You." I give her the bear. Melani: "Aww thanks. But why?" Me: "Well, I figured since JustyBear got ruined, you wanted a new bear." She hugs me. Melani: "Well thank you. It's cute. But anyway, where do you wanna go next?" She grabs my hand and we start walking. Whoa. Did SHE just take MY hand? I pinched myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Nope. Fully awake. Me: "Well it's up to you." Melani: "Let's go to Forever 21." Girls. All the same shopping stores. I let her pull me towards the store. Me: "Yeah, um, there are lots of girls in there.. So imma wait out here.." Melani: "But I need someone's opinion on my clothes." She pleaded. Me: "Alright then." She smiles then pulls me inside. It takes a long time until she finds things and goes to the fitting room area. Five minutes later she comes out of the stall. Melani: "How does this look?" She twirls around. Me: "Just beautiful." I smile. Melani: "Okay." She goes back in and tries other things on. We were at the mall for about 2 more hours. She practically bought the whole mall. Melani: "Well that was fun, right?" Me: "Yep." Melani: "So where we off to now?" Me: "Surprise.." She rolls her eyes. Melani: "Okay." It was now four o'clock. And I'm gonna take her out for ice cream now. I drove to the ice cream parlour that we went to when we were little. I was surprised that it was still here. Me: "Do you remember this place?" She slowly nods. Melani: "The ice cream parlour that me and my best friend went to.." She whispered. Well it's good that she remembers. Me: "Do you still wanna go in?" She nods. Me: "Okay." I get out of the car and open the door for her. We walk into the parlour and barely anyone was here. Few heads look up when the bell on the door rings. Me: "Okay. What flavor do you want?" Melani: "Chocolate with peanut butter." I nod and go up to the cashier.

*MELANI'S POV*

I sat down in a booth in the corner. The booth that me and JustyBear always sat at. An image of me and him messing around with ice cream played in front of me. He chased me around with ice cream in his hands and we ended getting ice cream everywhere. Mom and Pattie were laughing but told us to go clean up. I sigh loudly. I miss those times. Where are you now, JustyBear? "I'm right here." A voice in my head said. I looked up and saw Justin. He smiles. Justin: "You okay?" Me: "Oh, um, yeah. I'm fine." Well that was weird... He sets the ice cream down and sits across from me. Justin: "Well, eat up." He grins. I lean on my elbow and play around with my ice cream. Justin: "Something wrong?" I sigh. Me: "Just miss my best friend." He nods. Justin: "I'm sorry..." He mumbles. Me: "For what?" Justin: "Huh? Oh nothing. Just forget it." I nod. I push the sad memories out of my head and try to have a good time with Justin.

*JUSTIN'S POV*

I try to distract her so she wouldn't think about the old times and get sad. I mean, I was sad too but not that much. Melani: "Can we go now? I'm done eating." Me: "Okay. Come on." I grab her hand and bring her outside. Next we were going to the park. Just to hang out and stuff, you know? I took her to the park we went to when we were little. Why? Because I wanted her to remember the GOOD times here. Like, the time we took that picture. I take her to the swings. Melani: "What are we doing here?" Me: "I just wanna talk.." Melani: "About...?" Me: "I don't know. Just talking." She swings back and forth slowly. Melani: "Okay." Me: "So, remember when you met Christian?" She smiles. Melani: "Yeah." Me: "Well he asked me to ask you on a date." I chuckle. Melani: "Really? Aww that's cute." Me: "Ehh. I think it's weird. He always picks the older girls." She laughs. Melani: "Well that's adorable." She smiles and turns her head to look at me. Melani: "You have really pretty eyes." She pokes her tongue out at me. Me: "Well compared to yours, nah..." Melani: "Justin what are we? Like, friends..?" I sigh. Justin: "I don't know. I mean, you know I wanna be more than friends.. But we always end up fighting about stupid things." She nods. Melani: "Well whatever happens, I'm just thankful that I met you. I mean, if I had to be stuck with a conceited superstar, I'm glad it was you." I chuckle. Me: "I'm glad I met you too." Though I met her a long time ago. We continue talking nonstop. The one thing I love about this girl is that we can talk for hours and still have tons to say. Before it got too dark, I decided to go to our next location. Melani: "Where we headin' now? Wait, lemme guess," She changes her voice to sound like me. Melani: "It's a surprise.." She laughs. Next I was taking her to the beach for dinner. I had a table set up and everything. Before I pulled up into the beach, I told her to close her eyes and no peeking. She did as told and let me guide her to the table. Me: "Are you ready for this?" Melani: "Yep." I told her to open her eyes and she gasped. I thought she didn't like it.

*MELANI'S POV*

There I was, standing in front of the most beautiful sight. A candle-lit table with rose petals everywhere, a beautiful sunset, and.. best of all, Justin standing there, looking as handsome as ever with the dim glow of the candles dancing across his face. It was an amazing thing to see. It wasn't very dark but I liked watching the sunset. Justin: "You don't like it?" His face drops. Me: "Of course I do. Wait. No, I love it. You did all this for me?" He nodded and pulled the chair out for me. I gladly sat down and he pushed me back in. He sat in his own seat and opened a menu. I did the same and I saw "spaghetti" written in huge letters across the whole page. Justin: "So what do you wanna eat?" I laugh. Me: "Spaghetti sounds okay." Justin: "Good. 'Cause that's all I could cook." He smiles. He sucked at cooking anything else. A short waiter came with the plates with the silver covers on them. Waiter: "Dinner is served." He placed the plates on the table and uncovered them. Justin: "Thanks man." The waiter nods and goes back to wherever he came from. Justin: "So, eat up. I have somewhere I wanna take you after this." I nod and continue eating. It was actually a pretty good meal. Justin: "Dessert?" He asked after we finished. Me: "Yeah sure." The waiter came 'round and brought out a plate covered with a silver cover. Waiter: "Your dessert madam and sir." I laugh and he left again. Justin: "You open it." I looked at him suspiciously and crept my hand to the handle. I slow uncovered the plate. I gasped and stared at the beautiful object in front of me.
