i wish

Sometimes I wonder what it'd be like to date y/n. Everyone likes her, I try not to make it obvious but it's so hard when she's so like-able. She drives me absolutely crazy and I can't help myself. But she's with this guy named Matt. I hate him, he always thinks he's better than me in hockey. I'm captain and he still thinks he's better, pathetic. Anyways I'm writing this down because my therapist told me to write down what I'm feeling. It's helping- kind of. I just wish y/n would feel the same way I did. I'm friends with her of course but I want more. I want more from her. More compassion like the way I want her. Now I'm just being selfish. What does she want? I've heard rumors around school that she's gonna break up with him soon for someone else that she's developed feelings for someone else. Could you imagine if that was me? Ha, yeah right that would never happen. Anyways, thanks for listening I guess. Bye.

"Hey shawn you wanna go to lunch today?" I heard a small voice from above me.

I looked up at y/n's glimmering eyes as she rocked back and forth on her heels. Am I dreaming or is this real life?

"Uh me?"

"Yes you silly, I just broke up with Matt and I really wanted someone to talk to besides a girl" she chuckled rolling her eyes.

"Oh uh sure-" I replied standing up shoving my notebook back in my bag.

"So I like this guy-"

"Yeah I've heard" I replied.

"He's really cool, he's a lot like you actually" she blushed looking at the floor.
