How to Make a Warrior Cat OC

OC Review: Littlefern

Name: Littlefern

Not much to say here; this is a fully valid name and generates a nice mental image! 

Gender: She-cat

Again there's not much to say at all. I've seen a lot more female OCs than male ones though (that has nothing to do with your OC).

Rank: Medicine cat

Another female medicine cat, though that's fine. There are just a lot of those OCs out there. Still all good though!

Clan: StreamClan

Yay an original clan! Thank you. This just means you can't screw up canon stuff. 

Looks: Brown with a black stripe and black socks

Yeah, nothing wrong here. It just depends of the eye color though. Everything is fine so far!

Personality: Shy, happy, silly, quiet, truthful

So, first, the silly and shy kind of clash but that could actually make for a great character. The main thing though is you don't have a flaw. I think you could easily build on the traits you have to make a great flaw; for instance she could be too apprehensive and stuff while dealing with gory injuries? Or sometimes gives away secrets as she doesn't lie? Anything could work. 

Backstory: Was a kittypet but then abandoned and raised by foxes. The foxes took her in as one of their own. One day the foxes moved away during the night while she was sleeping. Eventually StreamClan found her and took her in and she learnt herbs. 

Alright. First off, the backstory is interesting, but needs a lot of work. Her being a kittypet is fine but the foxes bit is a little iffy, but, you can keep it if you make it more realistic. So, her being abandoned is okay, and then maybe she was mistaken for a fox cub and was raised like one? But when the mother realized she wasn't a fox she was kicked out? That would make a lot more sense. Also that could create some fun traits/flaws! Maybe because she grew up with them she behaves a little foxlike sometimes? And then instead of StreamClan finding her, she should wander into their territory or something. This could be really interesting, how her fox-raising affects her as a medicine cat. 

Family: Unknown

Sometimes an unknown family is due to backstory, but sometimes it's because of a lazy OC maker. I think that you're the former, but still, she should at least have memories of them. Because as a kittypet she should have at least met her mother before she was weaned. Even if they were just other kittypets and she doesn't meet them would be fine. 

Mate: None

AAAAH THANK YOU SO MUCH I HATE WHEN MEDICINE CATS HAVE FORBIDDEN LOVE ESPECIALLY FEMALE ONEs it just sorta ruins an OC. This is so common, even in canon! I mean, medicine cats know that they can't fall in love, so if they know, they shouldn't take the risk! I mean, look, Yellowfang, Spottedleaf, Cinderpelt, and Leafpool! That's too many! Anyway, sorry for my rant.

Awesome! And thank you for the great OC! So, in conclusion, Littlefern is an inspired character that just needs a little refining. Add some flaws, fix the backstory a bit, and give her a family (or a reasonable excuse to not have one), and that's really it! Littlefern is a character I'd like to see more of!
