You held your breath as you landed, too excited to move. When the time came to exit the ship, you didn't bother wearing your helmet and suit, nor did the others, because you all knew there was oxygen on the planet. As the door opened, you were the closest, and also the one to step out first. As you placed your foot on the dry Middle-earth ground, a rush of excitement and disbelief came over you. Was this really happening? Or was it all just a dream? You hoped it wasn't. You breathed in as you took in your surroundings. You were in a large field, with dry grass and rocks all around you. To the East, you could see a sick-looking forest. That must be Mirkwood! you thought. Every bone in your body wanted to simply leave everyone and just run to it, see King Thranduil and Legolas, and maybe even Tauriel, if she really existed. But you knew you couldn't do that, couldn't leave them.
"Orcs!" said one of your companions, Barry. The others started screaming and ran to different hiding spots. Two went inside back inside but you and Barry hid near the bottom of the ship.
"This is not a good hiding spot," you told him. Having read the books and seen the movies, you knew that the orcs would soon see you and most likely kill you. But I just got here! I can't die without seeing anything.
"I have a pocket knife," Barry suggested. You laughed sympathetically.
"I don't think a pocket knife would do much good against these creatures."
You scanned your surroundings, looking for something you could use as a weapon. So far, the only things you had were the pocket knives, as Barry pointed out. Come on, you thought to yourself. You're a genius. You can think of something. But there was nothing but dirt and grass around you. You would have to hope your hiding place did it's job.
You could hear the orcs getting closer, their feet pounding against the ground.
"I saw it fall from the sky!" One said.
"It was breathing fire!" said another.
"What if it's a metal dragon!" someone added. They were talking about your ship.
Suddenly they all broke out into comments and theories of where it came from and who sent it.
"QUIET!" yelled a low, raspy voice. He must be the leader, you thought.
"What if it's the prophesy!" someone chimed, despite the leaders order.
"No, that prophesy is all nonsense. But... Still. We must take precautions. If you find a girl, or any living being for that matter, kill it." At this your heart stopped, with fear of what you've just heard, but also with a strong curiosity of this prophesy.
"But the prophesy states she may also be useful to us! If we find her first, we have Middle-earth in the palm of our hand!" someone said. Yes, please listen, you thought. You were in no mood to die.
"Wait, do you smell that?" The raspy voice was speaking again. "Human flesh."
Suddenly all the orcs started running in your direction and you knew you were trapped. You could hear Barry breathing shakily and wondering if this was really how you were going to die.
No, I am not going down like this, you thought to yourself. The orcs were getting closer and closer and you knew you were running out of time. In a few seconds they were in front of you. One saw you and was about to pick you up. You kicked him in the gut as hard as you could and ran underneath him and out into the open, towards the forest.
You ran and ran as fast as your legs could take you but you could still hear the orcs behind you, chasing you. You grew tired and unwillingly slowed a little bit. Wrong move. An Orc caught up to you and jumped on you, tackling you to the ground. It held a knife up, ready to kill you with one simple move. You were defeated. There was no way you were getting out now.
But a few seconds passed and the orc didn't move. It simply sat there on top of you. You sat up slightly and it fell to it's side, motionless. It was dead.
Then all around you orcs were dropping to the ground. You realized they were being hit by arrows, but you didn't see anyone there. The other orcs seemed just as confused because they stopped in their tracks and looked around.
Then, you found yourself being lifted off the ground and onto a horse. You grabbed on tight to your saviour and looked up to see a blonde man with sparkling blue eyes.. And pointy ears? Is that who I think it is?, you asked yourself silently. You noticed a few more elves were there too, all of them with bows aimed at your hunters. You felt safe and a wave of peace swept over your body. The orcs wouldn't get to you now.
But just as the peace came it had disappeared. For you felt a great pain surge through your head and spread through your body. Instantly you felt the elf dismount his horse and lay you on the ground. The last thing you saw were his blue eyes gazing down at you with concern, before fading into darkness.
