The next few days before the Halloween dance, things changed a little, Brent hangs out with us, Nathan talks to me in public, and a new girl came, Bethany. Bethany is a transferee from Orlando, she started hanging out with us and we warmly said yes to her. "Is it just me or Brent and Bethany are really close?" Natalie, said leaning on my shoulders. I looked away from my food and looked at Brent and Bethany who is in front of me laughing at some joke Nathan made up. "Not really." I said denying the fact that Natalie was right, they were so close that it looks like they've known each other for years. I ignored them and started grabbing my books and food from the table and pulled Natalie out of the table. "Baby doll," Brent called out as I was dragging Natalie out of the cafeteria. I looked back to see a glimpse of Bethany pulling his arms down, gesturing for him to seat. I rolled my eyes and continued pulling Natalie out of the cafeteria. "Where are you taking me?" Natalie asked, harshly pulling her hand from my grip. "Somewhere that isn't full of fake people," I said looking at her. "If you want to be with them, it's fine with me, if that's what you want." I said walking away from her. I continued walking until I reached where I wanted to be, the Library. I slowly opened the door and as usual the door released an irritating sound. I walked past the shelves and sat at the very end of the library where the bean bags and pillows were located. I started reading one of the books Brent paid for, If I Stay."What are you doing here?" A guy asked giving me a fright. "You gave me a heart attack," I said looking at Michael. "Why aren't you with your clique?" He asked, sitting beside me. "What clique? I only have one friend," I said rolling my eyes and went back to my reading. "No like I mean with Bethan-" He said but I cut him off. "Don't you even mention her name." I said glaring at him and sighed. "So that's why you're alone," He mumbled to himself. "What?" I asked him as if I didn't heard him. "Nothing, you know what, I know how to make you laugh and smile." He said, wiggling his brows. "What?" I said taking his challenge. "This," He said tickling me on my hips. "Okay, I give up." I said raising my hands in the air. "I made you laugh," He said raising a brow up. "What are you doing?" I heard a very familiar voice from across the room.
Brent.
