The next day, I was inside my room wondering how Brent can do it to her own sister. He didn't know she drank and he didn't know how it went to Emily but all he knows right now is he's the one held responsible.
"Mae, Natalie's downstairs waiting for you," My mom knocked at my door. "Let her in my room." I replied changing into my go-to outfit which is ripped jeans and a plain white tee. "I was looking for you last night after you told me you're going to find Brent," She said bursting inside my room wearing sweat pants. "Then I visited Emily, then I saw lighted candles and that's how I knew you were there." She added, jumping into my new sheets that my mom changed last night. "We're the only ones who visits Emily. Her parents doesn't even care." I said, facing myself in the mirror, combing my hair. "So why were you there?" Natalie asked.
"How long do you know that Emily and Brent are related?" I asked, ignoring her question.
"Few weeks before she died," Natalie answered. "It was a month before Halloween Dance two years ago when Brent joined our High School. Emily and Brent didn't want anyone to know they're related, so Brent stayed away from Emily and ignored questions about them. During the Halloween Dance, when Emily passed out on the dance floor, Brent was the one who called the ambulance." Natalie said. All this time she knew but never told me. I feel betrayed. "Why was he not in the funeral?" I asked, switching my attention from the mirror to Natalie.
"His parents forbade him. After all he was the one who brought it, and his parents thinks it was his fault, until now." I murmured to myself.

"Where are you taking us?" Natalie asked Nathan, as he was pulling her inside the mall. I hate being third-wheel. "Why do I have to be the third-wheel?" I asked. "Because I'm your brother and she's your best friend. Either way, you can't date any of us." Nathan answered with his smart mouth. "Unless," Natalie said pointing behind me. I looked behind me and he was there, wearing black jeans and a Fall Out Boy shirt. I turned back right away but to my surprise, Natalie and Nathan was no where to be found.
"Mae, Im really sorry." Brent apologized for millionth time now. "You don't even know why you're apologizing." I snapped and walked past him. "Whatever it is, Im sorry." He apologized again, but now he grabbed my hands and kneeled in front of me. "What are you doing?" I asked with gritted teeth. "Mae, Im Sorry." Brent said, loud and clear. "Stop it," I said, pulling him up but he's too heavy for me to lift. "MAE IM REALLY SORRY!" Brent shouted, making a scene and embarrassing me. "Okay! Fine, I forgive you. Just get up!" I said, pulling him up but this time, he got up.
"Thank you," He said.
"For what?" I asked him, sipping my coffee.
"For forgiving me," He said.
"I just forgave you cause you were making a scene in public." I said, irritated.
"You want me to do it again?" He asked, getting ready to kneel and apologize again but before he could, I squealed, "No!"
