Alias Investigations.

I stood outside the door nervously, holding the business card that I had gotten from the station in my hand. It was hard to believe she ran an entire company from a dingy apartment, but this was definitely the address on the card.

Come on, knock.

Taking a deep breath, I touched my knuckles gently against the frosted glass, opening the door. It was already ajar.
"Come in, I'll be out in a sec." A voice said, almost sounding annoyed. "Fuck."
The policeman did warn me she had a mouth on her.

"Jessica Jones?" I questioned, nervous. I tugged at my top, walking into the apartment, not knowing what awaited me. Suddenly a woman appeared, she had dark tatted hair and sunken, dead eyes, with a few cuts to her face.

"Are you Amanda?" She asked. I nodded, stopping at the entrance to what looked like her office. Tears started to well in my eyes, I was finally far enough away from Kilgrave for him not to have control over me.
"Shit. Come here." Jessica immediately enveloped me in a hug, her grip firm around my shoulders.

"I'm sorry, I don't know why-" I sobbed, trying to recompose myself as I stepped out of her embrace. Letting out a laugh, I wiped my eyes with my sleeve. "This is the first time I've actually talked to someone that isn't... His, in weeks." Jessica lead me to the bright orange sofa, sitting me down.

"How did you escape?" Jessica asked, seeming genuinely interested. She sat next to me, giving me enough personal space incase I tried anything.

"He let me have a day to myself. Although I need to be back by 10." I answered honestly.

"You can't go back, Amanda." I shook my head.

"I-I have to. He trusts me to keep my word." I couldn't say that it was because we slept together.

"Look. Whatever he has done to you..." Jessica paused, looking away from me. "He's done monstrous things to innocent people. To women that didn't deserve it. You need to tell me where Kilgrave is so that I can stop him." A spark of anger ignited in me, making me stand up and face her.

Who was she to ask me where he was, when she sent them after us?
"What, so you can send people after him, just like you sent that task force?" I snapped. Jessica stood up to face me, her brows furrowing.

"You're being controlled by him. Amanda you need to stay here whilst the control wears off." She took a step forward, trying to restrain me.

"No, I'm not. He killed me because of you." My palms flashed green, "what's happening?" I mumbled, but she didn't seem to notice it.

"I'm sorry about this." Jessica swung for me, but a green flash sent her across the room, through her wall.

"Oh my god." The glow disappeared, making me feel nauseous, what the hell was that?

Your defence mechanism. Way to get Jessica on your side. Good luck trying to convince her now.

Jessica groaned, slowly standing up before running towards me, sending a punch my way. It hit me in the stomach, knocking the wind out of me and sending my flying into the wall.
A cry of pain escaped my lips, but by the time I had hit the floor, the pain had gone.
She thinks you're being controlled. You need to run, she won't let you leave otherwise.
Joy was right. Coming here was a mistake. Jessica stumbled towards me, still dazed by the knock back I had given her.
