"You already know the answer to that." Kilgrave responded, loosening his grip on me. Holding my shoulders he stepped back, looking into my eyes. I did know the answer.

"I can't..." I responded, shaking my head. After all he had done to me, I couldn't balance out the good he had done.

"You will, I promise you. I will win you back." As he stood up, he pulled me in once again, receiving no protest from me. "I'll get you to love me as I love you, Joy."

We stayed in silence for a minute or so before he pulled away, leaving a lingering peck on my forehead. "We should get going. We need to get back tonight." Kilgrave spoke softly, ushering me to the car. He lead me to my side and opened the door for me, allowing me to slip in before closing it and getting in his side.

"Let's get moving." His hardened tone had returned for the driver, a man I didn't even know the name of. No doubt he was a mindless controlled person that he had used for our gain. Thinking that the man might've had a family made me angry at Kilgrave, more angry than I should have been. I was trying to get my head out of what just happened, and trying to deny whatever flips my stomach was doing right now. I saw out of the corner of my that he was looking at me, actually more like staring.

"Yes?" I asked, sounding slightly annoyed, which wasn't my intention.

"It's going to be quite a while before we stop again, did you want some rest?"

"You're asking and not telling? Wow we've had a breakthrough." I scoffed, making him frown. Kilgrave was not one for jokes.

"Sit next to me." He commanded, looking angry. Well that lasted long. Unbuckling my seatbelt I slid into the plush double seat of the SUV, allowing Kilgrave to strap me back in.

"You're not helping your case." I mumbled, earning a chuckle from the purple man. I looked up at his stubble chin as he looked down at me, his broad nose tilting down to reveal the chocolate eyes, filled with a mixture of hatred, guilt and fury. I didn't know how Kilgrave would ever be considered as a good guy.

"I was doing it for you, I noticed at breakfast you were dozing. You haven't slept in a long while." Kilgrave noted and I sighed, he was right. I nodded, attempting to relax by his side, still finding it incredibly awkward. "Here." His arm reached over my shoulder, pulling me too his side. What the hell is he doing? My mind screamed at me, my head like a cat that didn't want to cuddle.

"What are you-"

"Oh just shut up and get some rest." His hand pushed my head onto his chest, where I felt the weight of his chin resting on the top of my head. His suit jacket was soft, the silky fabric warming up quickly. Looking down I noticed his fingers tapping against his thigh, a sign of anxiety. Did he build up courage to do this?
My eyes closed, feeling heavy from the smooth journey that we were taking. Hopefully by the time I woke up we would be back in New York, not that he would let me see the light of day anyway.
Thoughts ran around in my head about how he kept me his prisoner back then, making me forget who I was until I returned home from the hospital.
The hospital...

"Joy." I felt a small nudge on my shoulder, but I was perfectly comfortable where I am.
Swatting whatever it was away, I groaned before I felt my headrest move, making my eyes flutter open in protest to see purple. "Someone had a good nap." He teased, holding me close.
"What-" I moved out of his arm, rubbing my eyes as I moved as far away from him as I could on the seat I was strapped into, which wasn't very far. "Urgh. Are we here?" I groaned, seeing him nod.
"Whilst we were gone I had a new property investment being planned, under the watchful eye of the mayor of course. Just outside the main city, this house is a little bigger. I thought you might want more space than just a single bedroom." I peered out the window to see a considerable sized house, it was by no means a mansion but big enough to comfortably fit a large family, which concerned me.

"How did you come to own it?" I asked cautiously, watching Kilgrave unstrap himself from the SUV and open the door, pressing the release on my seat-belt buckle.
"I won't it in a game of poker." He smirked, I knew that wasn't true, and even if it was I knew he would have used his powers to make the game turn for him.
"Right." I said, shaking my head. He offered his hand to me, walking forward still when suddenly he stopped.
"I'm not going to make you. I told you I want you to love me on your terms." There he goes again with that word. Love. He threw it around like it was a crush, where you could just feel it with a snap of your fingers.
"Kilgrave that won't-"
"I don't want to hear it." He snapped, dropping his hand down to his side and walking into the house, leaving me on the driveway. It was then it clicked.
He made me fall asleep so that I would have no idea where we were.
Looking around I couldn't even see the New York cityscape in the distance, just urban neighbourhoods with nice looking houses and the expensive cars parked in most of the driveways. I didn't even know the street name yet, only that the number on the door was 13.

As I walked into the house the door was closed by the security Kilgrave had planted, but surprisingly there were none around the house. Walking in I was standing in a hallway that was daintily decorated with a table, internet router and a vase of flowers, which even looked real and well-kept; the housekeeper no doubt.
Walking along to the end of the hallway a door to the left opened up the space, a large lounge with plush fabric sofas, throws on each of them and cushions dotted around the seats, with a large TV in the centre, against the wall.

"Do you like it?" Kilgrave appeared from another doorway, what I presumed to be the kitchen or the stairs leading up to the first floor.

"It's very homely." Replied honestly. I didn't want to admit it's everything I ever wanted in a home, it was even the right colour scheme. "I didn't peg you for the homely sort." I turned to face Kilgrave, who was now quite close to me. Something that I had to make myself not look away for, I had to stare him out of this.
"Despite the time we have spent together, there are some things you do not know about me." He closed in on me, my butt firmly planted on the back of the sofa. Unless I fell backwards there was no avoiding this now.
"Same with me," I responded, cocking an eyebrow. "Why are you getting so close. Never heard of personal space?" Kilgrave stopped, running a hand through his hair before letting out a chuckle.
"People not doing what you want is hard." He admitted, taking a step back, allowing me to relax slightly.
"Tell me about it." I roll my head, looking down at the plush carpet.

"Would you like to see your room?" I nodded, and Kilgrave gestured for me to follow him.
"I was half expecting me to have to share." I saw Kilgrave turn his head, a smirk plastered on his head.
"That can always be arranged." My stomach flipped at the thought. I let out a sarcastic chuckle to attempt to cover my flushed face, but I knew he had glanced over and seen it. After all he had done, for christ's sake Joy you can't let him affect you like this!

"I'm good." I scoffed, thinking back to the first time we had been in this situation. "I'm going to get some rest. I'm not feeling too well." I said, Kilgrave shaking his head.

"No, you need to eat first, and you keep your sleeping pattern regular. Come back downstairs with me." My eyebrows raised, my mouth hanging open.

"What the- seriously? Already?" He had controlled me already, and we hadn't even been in this house for an hour.

"Yes. I'm doing this so you don't start sleeping in until midday. I intend to make a life with you here, that requires you to be healthy and sleeping right."

"And it also requires you to stop controlling me." I retorted. Great, an evening at home with Kilgrave.
