"Shut up, get in the car and calm down." Kilgrave said calmly, making my eyes widen as I walked up the the car, opening the back left passenger door and strapped myself in, unable to say a word.

After all of that. Shielding me from danger against Stark Industries, the kiss in the hotel room.... showing me his humanity, it was all gone when he did that. Just like that, my hatred for him festered again, my head remaining calm but deep down my anger was rage.

"Back to New York." I heard Kilgrave said, making me look at him. "You didn't think I'd run away, did you? We have unfinished business there, Joy."

--------------------

We had been on the road for hours, without a word.
That's because he had commanded me not to. I continued to stare out of the window as we crossed back over into the US, travelling back to New York. This whole trip was a trick, I can guarantee it. It was so he could get me to 'fall' for him, and so that he could once again own me, which he had succeeded in. I would never know who I truly was now, I was forever Joy. His joy; Kilgrave's Joy.

"Stop off at the next services." Kilgrave said to the driver, who nodded in response. I sighed, the only way I could express my anger at him.
"Oh come on Joy get over yourself. You'll forget about that soon enough."
Immediately my brain told me I wasn't mad at him, and with a blank expression I simply nodded at him.
"You can respond to me, you know." He began. "But any fowl language and I'll ask our driver him to kindly take and swallow the cigarette lighter." He pointed to the lighter, it was a metallic car one. There was the possibility it could kill him, and it wouldn't exactly be a swift death.

"I have nothing to say." I turned back to look out the window, feeling the car slow. We had arrived at the services. Great, five minutes of peace away from him.
When we had parked up Kilgrave got out the car, wondering around to my side. "You know the drill." He said, and I rolled my eyes getting out of the car, refusing his hand. "Take it." He growled, holding it out to me again. As much as tried to resist, I held my hand to meet his. He carefully intertwined his fingers with mine, leading me to the diner.
"I need the loo." I said, making him almost glare at me.
"Come back straight after." He replied, releasing my hand and walking over to a table, ordering a pot of tea.
I walked into the bathroom, seeing that it was empty; shit. If someone was here I could have asked to borrow a phone at least.
Relieving myself I sighed as I began to wash my hands, looking at myself in the mirror. All considering, I didn't look that bad. My puffy eyes and straggly hair left much to be desired, but then I always used to look like this on the road, or at least thats what I remember. What was memory I couldn't trust anymore, ever since he had allowed me to regain memories... everything conflicted with each other.

Sighing, I flicked my wrists to let the excess water shake off, sticking my hands under the dryer before giving up soon after, it had given up, just like I felt I had. Walking out to the restaurant, I saw everyone stood up, staring at me. I shook my head, looking over to Kilgrave who was sat cross-legged at a table with a cup of tea in his hand. "Wow, are you serious?" I walked over to him, sitting down opposite. As soon as I did all the customers and staff returned to normal, sitting down and continuing with their lives as if nothing had happened. "I told you, I needed to pee. I was what, a minute in there?"

"It was simply a precaution." Kilgrave sat forward, handing me a menu. "Pick out something, you haven't eaten in a while." I took the menu, and as Kilgrave commanded the waitress to come over I selected what I wanted. "Another tea, and for god sake put the milk separately, and the continental." Kilgrave looked at me, raising an eyebrow.

"I'll have the same, thank you." I handed the menu to the waitress, looking at her apologetically, and she returned the glance.

"Come on then, chop chop." Kilgrave snapped his fingers, and immediately she ran back to the kitchen to prepare our order.
