He stormed past me.
"Car?" I said wearily. "You okay?"
He turned to me, his tan face framed by blonde curls was angry. It scared me.
"Do I look okay?" He yelled getting in my face.
I flinched.
His expression softened. "Sorry Ali. Its just... nothing."
Carson Rowan. My best childhood friend.
"I have a question." He fidgited with his hands.
"Shoot." I said.
"Do you want to go out-" He started.
"WAIT!" I bounced with joy as I remembered who had asked me out today. "Didn't you hear?" I asked.
"No." He looked away. "What?"
"I'm going out with Ashton."
"That ass?" He asked.
Yeah." I snapped. "And he's not a jerk."
"Whatever you say." He said.
"Don't be that way please." I pleaded.
"What do you want me to do?" He said that angry expression coming back.
"I don't know... be nice?"
He smiled. "Sorry Ali. I didn't mean to be rude."
"Its okay. Your just the jealous best friend." I laughed.
He pulled me into a hug.
"Yeah right."
"I love you like a brother." I whispered. Maybe even more, I thought.
"Same Ali. I love you to." His voice shook. What was wrong with him, and what was he going to ask me?"
