Oh, yeah...this will have a long time skip, so Jade's seven, eight in a few parts.
____________________________________________________________________Jade woke up refreshed from last night's events. She shook at the memory. "Wait, it's Monday, isn't it?"
"That's right, little gem," Clay said, laughing as his daughter groaned. "Come on, it's your first day of school. What's so bad about that?"
"Um, being alone."
You walk in. "You sound like your uncle. Now come on, breakfast's ready."
Jade groaned again, being lifted up by Clay and taken to the dining area. She giggle lightly, pulling her hair back then letting it rest on her back. You smiled, feeling so proud that she was your daughter.
Clay placed the young girl in a chair, allowing her to eat her omelet. You grabbed her book bag, making sure she had everything she needed: pencils, paper, crayons, a sharpie, and safety scissors. As you looked at the time, you made Jade hurry and brush her teeth. When she finished, you left with her to get her there on time.
You gave her the bag as soon as you reached the school. "Do I have to go? I mean, I'm Clay Moorington's daughter. Why do I need to go to school?"
You sighed. "Trust me, Jade, you'll be fine. I've kept you from school for three extra years almost. Now, you need to go."
She sighed, walking up to the school as you waved and turned away with a pain in your heart.
With Jade~
Jade sighed, looking around at all of the kids around her. They looked at her and seemed to whisper. She quietly found her class, seeing her teacher look at her with an eyebrow raised. "Let me guess. Jade Moorington?"
Jade nodded, looking at the floor. Some of the kids gasped in amazement, but some snickered. Some even said, "she's just a runt compared to Clay."
She sighed, sitting in a seat next to a blonde girl with dark green eyes. The blonde girl was doodling on a piece of paper until she looked up and saw Jade's look of interest.
"Hello," she greeted, "I'm Cordelia Rose. Who are you?"
Jade held out her hand. "Jade Moorington. It's nice to meet you."
"You're Clay's daughter, right? I've heard rumors that you were attending here this year."
Just as Jade was going to respond, the teacher slapped his desk with a ruler. "Hello everyone. I'm Mr. Winter. Im going to be your teacher for every subject with these exact people, so get aquatinted soon so you can have partners for some work. Lunch is at 12:25 and recess is at 2:20. From there, you will be picked up by parents or relatives.
"We also have a transfer student, Jade Moorington, daughter of the knight, Clay Moorington, and his girlfriend, (Y/N) Fox, sister of Aaron Fox."
Everyone looked at Jade with interest. She just waved, blushing with embarrassment.
"Today is a free day, however, so you may talk to others and make friends."
Everyone started talking to the person next to them. Cordelia looked at Jade with a surprised expression. "You're related to two knights? You're lucky, Jade."
Jade looked down, sighing. "I was hoping no one would bring them up. They're the only reason I really get attention. Magazine people will hunt me down all the time, saying I was a secret child."
"I was." Cordelia turned away. "My parents were trying to keep me a secret, but my grandparents from my mom's side found out and sent my dad to jail."
"What happened between your parents?"
The blonde girl sighed. "My dad was cursed, they tell me. They said he was possessed by this evil being, but when I asked my mom, she said it was that my grandparents didn't like the fact that my dad was from a different realm."
Jade gasped. "Another realm?"
She laughed lightly. "That's right, it's your first year. Well, last year, we learned that there were different realms, sixteen to be exact. The one my dad was from was Ninjago, I think. It's kinda like here, but with ninja as heroes."
Jade nodded, laughing lightly at the fact of ninja being heroes instead of knights.
They talked for hours until lunch.
Time Skip To After School~
Jade was looking for someone she knew. No one told her who was picking her up, so after Cordelia left, the girl sat in a tree and waited. And waited. Then waited some more. Until an armored man walked up to the tree, not looking up at Jade.
His armor was silver and all the kids gasped. "It's Lance Richmond!"
Lance. His icy blue eyes seemed to scan the kids for someone special. One kid ran up to him. The former knight looked down. "Do you know where Jade is?"
The kid nodded, pointing up at Jade. Lance's gaze shots up to the young girl, making Jade scoot away from the man. He began climbing the tree, just as Jade jumped from it, running.
She could hear the armored footfalls behind her, making her stop and look for a way to escape the mad man.
"Psst! Over here!" another man's voice sounded. Jade hesitated before running to it. A jester pulled her close, hugging her protectively. "Shh."
Jade kept her mouth shut as Lance came closer. But he never found them. The jester sighed, looking down at Jade.
"Your Jade, right? I'm Jestro, and I'm here to help you."
Jade shook. "You tried hurting my parents and my uncle. Why should I trust you?"
He sighed again. "I'm done being evil. Lance is the worst person alive. I want to help you and your family. Please, trust me."
Jade looked into his chaotic eyes, but smiled. "Will you explain yourself to my dad? He told me you two were friends before you found a thing called a 'book of monsters.' Whatever that is."
He laughed, nodding. "Sure, I will, Jade. Let's get you home, young knight."
He took Jade's hand, leading her to the Fortrex.
