Why Should We?

Clay's P.O.V.~

I was pacing back and forth in the garage.  Aaron went to get Jade, but she wasn't there.  But some kid said that Lance came looking for her.  My mind was yelling at me to find them and get my daughter back, but I had this feeling that she was safe.  But where did the feeling come from was what I wanted to know.

A knock sounded at the door.  I opened it to see Jade smiling, holding a white hand.  Jestro.  The jester looked at me with a shy smile as I growl, taking my daughter away from him.

"Daddy?"

I glare at the jester.  "Why are you here, Jestro?"

"I came to say I'm sorry.  I'm sorry for finding the Book of Monsters, I'm sorry for trying to kill you.  I'm sorry for not letting you know that Lance was going to take Jade to get (Y/N) before now."

I soften my gaze.  "He still wants (Y/N).  After he raped her and killed her baby?"

I heard Aaron walk in, lifting Jade up in his arms.  "What happened, Jade?"

I heard her breathe out.  "Lance came for me at school.  Jestro saved me.  Where's Mommy at?  And what does 'raped' mean?"

"Mommy's out looking for you with Luna and Midnight.  Hunter went with Macy.  Jessie's with Axl.  And we'll explain that when you're older," I said over my shoulder, still glaring at Jestro.

"Please, Clay.  I don't want to be evil anymore.  I know how to get rid of this disease.  I just need your help."  Jestro looked....sad.  His eyes were downcast and his hat drooped.

I sigh, moving aside.  "Come in and give us a reason."

We all walk to the table, sitting across from the jester.  Jade held Aaron's hand while I growled at Jestro. 

He pulled a book out from his cape.  The Book of Madness (made up book, so, meh).  I take the book, about to open it.  He stopped me.  "That's the real book.  I have a fake version back at the Evil Mobile.  Clay, like I said, I'm sorry.  I'm sorry that I chained you up, Aaron.  I'm sorry I even let that show off knight try and take Jade away from you.  I really want to help you.  I know how to defeat that talking book."

Aaron and I pay close attention. 

Jestro continued.  "It takes two Nexo powered weapons.  One for sure has to be the bow to shoot the eyes.  Then, a sharp weapon has to be inserted into his mouth.  I know, it sounds brutal, but without a wizard to stop him, it's the only way."

Merlok came up on the monitor.  "Jestro is right.  Clay, Aaron, you two are the two qualified to do this mission.  If we are to truly be free of the book and Lance's evil, we must destroy the book.  The sooner, the better.  For Jade and for (Y/N)."

I nod, looking back at the jester.  "Do they know you planned to betray them?"

He shook his head.  "Not even Lavaria knows, and she's the top spy."

"Good.  Then, you should head back.  We'll converse about this at night sometime, then make our move soon.  I don't want my family hurt anymore."

Jade smiled at me. 

Jestro smiled, too.  "Thank you for trusting me.  You won't regret it."

With that, he ran off, leaving Aaron and I to think about killing the book tomorrow, just in case Jestro did lie.
