Secrets Unfold

Once everyone returned to the Fortrex, Clay explained what happened. Most of them gave the same reaction: anger. All but Luna. She seemed to be worried about something else. Aaron sat beside her, holding her hand.

"So, should we trust Jestro?"

You held Jade close. "Well, he didn't hurt her."

Axl and Jessie nodded.

"But he could still be lying to get you, (Y/N)! Lance is a psychopath. He makes sure he gets what he wants," Midnight stated, earning agreement from Trix, Hunter, and Macy.

"Well, we still have to protect each other," Luna said, looking at Jade. "Like Merlok said, lie or not, Jestro told us how to defeat the Book of Monsters. And he gave us the Book of Madness. I think that gives us a sign that he told us the truth."

Aaron nodded.  "That and he did bring Jade back, Clay.  Someone who's evil would keep her to hurt us, but he brought her back.  I really think we should trust him."

You sigh, pulling Jade closer to you.  You could hear her sigh out, but kept her mouth shut.

You look up and meet Luna's eyes, seeing a small fear in them. 

"Aaron, you were captured a while ago.  If you can trust Jestro, then I will, too," you say with confidence.

Clay held your shoulders.  "You are staying with Jade when we go."

You glare lightly.  "Why?  This involves my daughter's safety.  I'm not sitting by to watch my family get hurt!"

"I don't want you to lose another baby!"

Everyone stopped, looking at you with surprise.

You heard Clay gulp, staring into your eyes.  "Uh, surprise?" he said as he turned to the others.

Jade looked up at you with joy.  "I'm going to have a brother or sister?"

Aaron laughed.  "And a cousin."

Luna hit him upside the head.  "We don't know for sure, Board-Boy."

Jade seemed to swell with excitement.  "This is awesome!"

You smile at her, seeing so much of these people around her.  She was serious like Clay, a joker like Aaron, and a reader like you.  She was perfect.  But now she had to make room for two babies. 

"Fine, we'll trust Jestro, for now.  If he tries anything with anyone here, we're done.  Got it?" Clay asked, looking at everyone in the room.

They all nodded.

"Good.  Luna, (Y/N), you two are staying home with Jade and your unborn children.  We aren't letting you guys get hurt."

"Yeah," Aaron agreed, "sis, you don't need to go through another lost baby.  Luna, you don't need that happening to you.  Please, do this one thing for us, you two."

You and Luna sigh, but nod.  Jade hugs you, making you smile.

You knew all of these things would go down, but then Jade said something that scared you.

"I think I have visions."

You pull her away, holding her shoulders and kneeling down to her eye level.  "What do you mean you have visions?  Future visions?"

Jade nodded.  "The night before school when Uncle Aaron let me sleep in his bed, I had a nightmare of exactly what happened that day, so I avoided it slightly.  Lance still chased me, but I was in a tree, so he began climbing it.  That's when I jumped from the other side and ran.  Jestro saved me, which wasn't what happened in my vision."

Everyone just stared at her.

"So, when it has to do with your safety, you dream what might happen and avoid it?" Clay asked her, lifting her up.

Jade smiled and nodded, making you inhale deeply.

Now your daughter could foretell the future.  Is that why they wanted her?  Or was it just to get you?  Maybe it was both.
