I woke up with the worst headache. I remembered last nights events and tested my muscles. Okay so I'm not tied up. There was water next to my bed. I smelled it first and decided against drinking it. I somehow got upright. I felt my head feel heavy and I held it in between my knees.
Eventually I put one foot down then the other. I strode over to the bathroom and drank water from the tap. I washed up and realized I wasn't home. I stepped away from the mirror. Panic invaded my thoughts and I quietly and quickly got out of the room. I stepped on the floor and a loud creak erupted.
I quietly cursed. Then I heard footsteps coming towards me. I screamed and I was then held in their arms and they were trying to calm me. I turned.
"ASA?!" I yelled, extremely relieved. I started crying and he hugged me tighter and I felt my weight slip below me. He lifted me and put my head near his heart. I fell asleep listening to the rhythm of his heart.
I woke up later curled up into a ball with Asa underneath me. His hand laying protectively on me and my neck had a cramp. His eyes were shut so I couldn't see his blue orbs. I sat up and he woke, his eyes blinking and asked if I was alright.
"Yes, I am. I think, but I'm starving! I never got my Chinese delivery!" I exclaimed.
"It's in the refrigerator, let me reheat it." I watched him. Then I got up and put my head on his shoulder.
"Your morning voice is perfect." I said.
He looked at me and smiled.
"Why thank you. Your morning hair is gorgeous by the way." He laughed. I punched him and flattened my hair with my hands.
"It's a piece of work I know." He put the food in the microwave and took it out a few minutes later. He then sat down on the couch, patting the place next to him. I sat down and he placed a blanket over the both of us. He gave me my food and a water bottle.
"What happened yesterday?" I asked.
***FLASHBACK ASA'S POV***
After parking in her driveway I started walking towards her small house. Then I heard some muffled screaming. I ran. I then saw a man holding a cloth up to her mouth and Faye's eyes were fluttering. I grabbed the man and threw him down the steps.
"RUN FAYE, RUN. LOCK YOURSELF IN YOUR ROOM. GO." I yelled but she could only crawl after she had fallen to the floor and she only made it to the hallway before she stopped moving.
"You touch her again I will make sure you can never walk again." I spat in the man's face. I kicked him and called the cops. The ambulance came too and said she just needs to sleep the drug off. I took her to my place so she would be safe. The Chinese delivery man came when the police did and was very confused but I gave him extra tip. When I was driving her to my flat, I looked in the rearview mirror and saw her fast asleep, her eyelashes long and dark. My heart was pounding hard. I didn't want this to happen again. I feel like it's my fault, but it isn't.
PRESENT: FAYE'S POV
"Oh." Is all I could say after Asa told me.
"I remember him putting the cloth on me and crawling away but then everything went black after that." I said.
"Uh, yeah so darling....I think we are going to have to teach you some fighting." he said. I laughed but he just stared at me.
"Wait you were serious?" I said.
"Yup. I'll pick you up tomorrow morning around 9. And don't eat a lot." he said, his eyes twinkling.
"Okay but I'm a dancer. My arms are supposed to be dainty and graceful. Also, quick question. You know that cult you told me about. Was that them?" I whispered the last part.
"I think so. They keep going after you, like your family is important in someway. But I can't figure out why." he sighed. Then he mischievously looked at me.
"Lets lighten up the mood." he said.
"How?" I asked and smirked. He leaned in only to be cut short by my phone ringing.
"oops?" I laugh and he sighed. So he hugged me instead and I leaned into him.
"Hellooo?" I ask.
"FAYE! WHERE ARE YOU?!" Vera yelled.
"Uhhh...Asa's house.."
"YOU DID NOT. FAYE!" she shrieked. I held the phone away from me as she gave me some lecture about how I better had not gotten too "comfortable" with him and stuff like that. Asa started laughing so hard I could feel his torso tighten with each wave of laughter. I doubled over too.
"FAYE. FAYE? WERE YOU LISTENING?" she yelled into the phone.
"Yes yes we both did. Your on speaker by the way." I laughed.
"Okay good. ASA WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO PROPERLY ASK HER TO BE YOUR GIRLFRIEND?" and I widened my eyes and blushed. He got up from the couch and got on one knee taking a flower from the centerpiece.
"My dearest Faye, will you please give me the honor of being your boyfriend?" he smiled goofy and I sat on his one knee. In the spur of the moment I gave him a light kiss on his lips and said,
"Of course my dearest Asa." He grabbed me and spun me around whilst I laughed and Vera laughed wickedly. He set me down a bit too soon and we eventually hung up on Vera.
"Ahh. This feels nice. It feels great." I sighed and watched the movie.
***ASA'S POV***
And just like that I was catapulting towards this thing called love. And I couldn't stop myself because there she was and there I was and with just a movie to entertain us. I felt this unimaginable feeling growing inside me.
And I did not stop it.
