The next day I woke up in my own bed and got up to get ready for Asa's "fighting training thing". I brushed my teeth and put my hair in a ponytail. Putting on some cropped black and blue leggings with a sports bra and a tank. It was comfortable and maybe a little skimpy but hey, whatever I'm exercising. I slipped on my black nikes and headed for the kitchen and ate a light breakfast. I wrapped a blanket around me just as the doorbell rang.
"Coming!" I got up from the couch and walked over to the door. I opened it as I took off the blanket and put it on a stool. Asa's eyes wandered up and down my body.
"My eyes are up here by the way." I smiled. He laughed.
"As your boyfriend I think I have the right." He pulled me in for a deep kiss. I let go.
"You know kissing burns more calories than exercising!" I said with a wink. He tilted his head.
"Hmm tempting but nah. Anyways I'm all ready to go!" he exclaimed. He was wearing shorts and a t-shirt and Nike's. I huffed and walked out the door. He closed it and led me to his car.
"But I want my coffee that you owe me after!" I said once inside.
"Yes of course! Anything for you." he kissed me again.
"Still don't want to take me up on my offer?" I asked hopeful. Mostly because I didn't want to learn how to fight and kissing isn't half so bad either.
"Positive."
After about 15 minutes of driving we park in front of some personal training center.
"Uhh so what do I do?" I asked nervously.
"Just follow my lead." he pulled me close and put his arm around me.
"Alright..."
Once inside I realized how cool it looked and how much stuff there was to use. It all looked so new. After Asa talked to some guy we got our own room with him and there was a punching bag in the middle. They started stretching so I did too. I was the most flexible of them both because I dance but they were far more stronger in the arm section although my legs were quite strong as well as my abdomen.
"Okay so let's see what you got and punch the bag." the guy said. I found out later his name is Don.
"Uh, yeah see I have zero arm strength. Zip, nada." I said.
"Well looks like we can either watch you punch or we can have you lift for hours upon hours..."
"OKAY!" I put on the gloves Asa handed me and some chalk. Then with everything I had I punched.
It barely moved past 3 centimeters.
"Oh...ummmm" I stuttered. Asa was on the verge of laughing and I gave him a death look which shut him right up. I punched for 30 minutes straight and I couldn't feel my arms. I collapsed as a heap on the floor.
"I.am.never.doing.that.again." I panted and drank water. Asa hugged me then put on his gloves and chalk. I leaned against the wall and watched as him muscles released right after each punch. His forehead creased with concentration and his sharp blue eyes were blank with each punch. The bag kept moving and never stopped once. I gaped at him.
"Done." he said and smirked at me. I sighed and layed down.
"Well I think that is enough for today huh?" I asked very hopeful.
"Nope, not even close." Don said. After about an hour and a half more of hard exercise that I have never done i put my stuff in Asa's car and sat down finally trying to breath normally.
"Guessing you don't do that in dance?" Asa asked with a playful look in his eye.
"Not even close." I mimicked Don's deep voice. We both laughed and held hands on the way to drop me off.
"Why don't you ever use your car?" he asks you.
"Because you always offer to take me places." I laugh and he asks if I want him to stay for a while.
"Sure but I am going to take a quick shower first then you can shower, k?" I give him a quick peck on the cheek and grab two towels and shower. After wrapping my hair up and over, I drape the towel around me and walk out. Asa was just walking back from the other bathroom and flashes a cheeky grin at me. I snort and go into my room. After putting on a robe I throw him a towel and he walks over to the restroom.
Around a half hour later we are both in the living room and I am complaining about my soreness and he is telling me that I am a baby.
"But it was hard!!" I moan
"Well I am sorry I can't control wether it was hard or not." Asa sighs.
"UGH BUT I'M REALLY SORE NOW!" I cry and cuddle up next to him and hear a bang fom my screen porch. Vera is standing there with her mouth open and banging her head on the screen. I get up and open it and shoot her a confused look.
"YOU GUYS DID YOU JUST HEAR YOUR CONVERSATION?" she gapes.
Asa and I look at each other as we replay what just happened. I start laughing hysterically and Asa shakes his head and laughs.
"No see Asa and I did some exercise." Vera's eyes widen.
"No, like actual exercise as in self defense." Asa explains.
"Oh." Vera simply states. I called her yesterday night to tell her everything that has happened.
"Well I came over here so that I could ask Faye if she wanted to go shopping but if she can't..."
"Oh no it's fine. I have to go anyways." Asa gets up and kisses me then hugs Vera.
"Let me put my hair up real quick." I run over to my room and put it in a messy bun then grab some oxfords and then Vera and I are on the road. We stop by dozens of stores and don't walk out of each store empty handed except for a few. We laugh and have fun and then we walk into a dress store.
"Oh my goodness lets try these on." She holds up a silver metallic dress that is strapless with lots of little details and hands it to me. Her dress is gold and has amazing detail and looks gorgeous. We both step out of the dressing room and gape at each other.
"Oh my goodness we are buying these." I mutter. We both laugh and rush over to the counter. We both pay and eventually find matching shoes.
"Let's go, I'm beat." Vera sighs.
"Same."
After dropping me off I arrange everything on my bed and organize them into my closet and drawers. I take another quick glance at the dress then hop into the restroom to get prepared for bed. I dwell on the amazing day I just had and bite my lip to keep from laughing.
