Chapter 11
Diamond
"Girl.......I don't know about you, but I think Cruze is cute". Cleondra says to me as we were riding the school bus home. I thought he was cute too, shit. Cruze was just plain sexy. He had smooth mocha skin, a crispy edge up with waves that would make you sea sick, and the prettiest smile with the whitest and straightest teeth I've ever seen. The way he stood with his hands in his pockets sent me over the edge. The way he interracted with people, the way he walked and talked had me falling head over hills. Cruze had mean swagger and good taste in wardrobe. He stayed iced up from the time I saw him at my mothers party. He was just so sexy and I needed him to be called mines. He had me ready to do some freaky shit to him when he touched my hand. I had never gotten wet for anyone before, but Cruze had my panties soaked. I wanted him to touch me and to feel me. I wanted him to kiss me and love on me. I didn't know why I was feeling this way or where these emotions were coming from, but I knew that they were real.
"I know". I say. "But he's with Ivory".
"Um Diamond, did you not hear him say that she wasn't his girlfriend"? Chardenay asked. I thought about it for a minute. It seemed like all the dudes slobbed over Ivory Betcham, but Cruze seemed to be more interested in me and deep down, I hoped he was. I was starting to get butterfly's. We only knew each other for ten minutes and I was already starting to catch feelings. I had never felt this way about a boy before, but I wanted Cruze. I wanted everything from him. I would do what it took to make him mine. Why hadn't I talked to him at the party? I was stupid for not talking to him, but who would have thought that Diamond Rosemont would have found someone that she actually cared about? All these boys that I had drooling over me only wanted me for what was in between my thy's, but Cruze was different. He seemed different. He seemed like the type that didn't want me just for sex. He seemed like the type that actually wanted a relationship and that's what I was looking for. It was something about him. The way he talked turned me on and it sent my emotions to the extreme. It was a nice feeling. I felt a spark between us. When he touched my hand my hormones went wild. I just wanted to pounce on him and suck all on his skin. He was just so damn sexy. I wanted to melt. I wanted Cruze. My body didn't feel complete unless I had him. I needed Cruze. "Hello.....earth to Diamond". Chardenay says waving her hand in my face and ruining my thoughts. "Why you thinkin' so hard"?
"You like him don't you"? Cleondra asked. I smile and cover my face. "She does"! Cleondra clapped with excitement.
"Calm down, it isn't that serious". I say. The school bus slowed down at our stop and we got off and started to walk home. "I don't know........maybe he isn't in to me".
"What!? He's digging' you girl". Chardenay says.
"Why else would he have given you his number"? Cleondra cut in.
"And yall knew each other before he came to Central Queens". Chardenay said.
"Chardenay we didn't know each other. I just saw him at one of my mommas parties".
"So, it still counts".
"No it doesn't because I thought I was never going to see him again. All of this was just a coincidence".
"See, you think so negative........I think you and Cruze might have something. I think you might actually have a boyfriend this year". I smiled at the thought. We ran up the wooden steps to their condo and I watched as Chardenay unlocked the door. Me and Cleondra followed her inside. I slipped off my winter coat and threw it on the couch. I then plopped down next to it. I was bored and so desperately wanted to get out of the house. "MOMMA"! Chardenay yelled. There was no answer. "She ain't home". Chardenay said going to the kitchen.
